Having mechanics that remove these hard choices.. seems well a shame. Especially when the reload ability is already there for those that want or need it. With this mechanic as it stands, those meaningful choices aren't there, nor can I press a button like 'quick load' and have them inserted.
This is a good point, but I don't agree that heroes need to be mortal to achieve it. FFH is a vastly different g

It does have teleportation. You can use wormholes later on to go from on to any other.
I don't know, 1984 seemed like an ideal place to me. I could learn to live with it. [e digicons];)[/e]
Having Death, Fire, and Warlock would be a great way to have powerful magic early on. Soulburn with +50% damage is very strong. I would like to see Warlock have some turn one damage spells. Something like 20 Fire Damage +1 damage per any shard. Something to make it clear that this Sov is a Warlock.
I think failing the first time ends the quest. Then you are still left with the army of dragons.
No. Is it like I described?
I would be in favor of an addition as Satrhan suggests, but I don't think it will happen. It would probably take too much time and extra coding to handle resurrection. It would be much more simple to perfect the mechanics already in place. If you want hero death to cost more, the penalties can be increased. If you want an economic cost, they could stay immobile until mana or money is spent to heal them. That would be a more feasible fix I think. Death would be fine if we are talking about
It was... an odd coupling.
This is a mix between RPG and TBS. IMO, the more the game starts to feel like a story, the more fun it is. Heroes and villains are impossible to kill. They always seem to be able to escape somehow. I like that this is recognized in the game. There are certainly some problems with the mechanic, but I see no reason to scrap it entirely. Especially since a resurrection mechanic is essentially the same thing.
Hangs in tactical battles generally stem from animation issues and the multithread priorities I think. One way to work around them is to click on a character image on the left of the screen. This will bring up that unit's info screen. Then press enter to exit the info screen. Do this a few times until the animation is over. It will play bit by bit while the game opens the info screen. It's a dirty fix, but it works for now.
Are these pics part of an article?
In keeping with my idea, but also satisfying other people's ideas, how about this: 1. Give all Sovs at least 3 elemental spellbooks. Once Life/Death and two others. Some would get more depending on their character. Some should start with alot of magic, but no physical ability. 2. Give heroes a maximum of 2 elemental spellbooks. That way they are noticeably weaker in magic than Sovs. 3. Make a larger number of heroes with no starting magical abilities. They will sti
Certainly the game needs a fair share of doubtful critics as well as fanboys. We all play our parts I suppose.
I like coffee if I am staying up. Food after 8pm is food wasted.
I have been waiting for a game that combines all genres into one massive game. A Galactic TBS gives way to a planet wide RTS, which controls a series of FPS/RPG battles. And all of it is MMO, FTP. The best players would be promoted to the next level of gameplay. There could even be an app that simulates different geopolitical structures that are the basis for the war effort (Farmville).
Ah, the Clambercoil Dragon is a harsh mistress. You can sometimes get it to follow you into an enemy's territory and then when they kick you out, the dragon will wreck them. Just a little tip. Oh and sorry bout the medical damage you suffered. I might suggest my let's play videos if you are looking for some strategies. It does look like alot will be changing in beta 4, though. You might want to hold off obsessing about the economy until after that is released.
Prediction: Beta 4 starts with version .991
Seanw3, you still don't get it, but thats okay. Its not your fault. Quoting Captain Pat, reply 23 I'd like to see Stardock be a bit more thorough in beta testing and better at getting their releases a bit closer to being a legitimately finished product upon release. I'm not going to try and change your stance on things, but at least read what people write before saying there is n
You feel entitled to two free games and will receive them. I guess there is nothing more to discuss.
I am starting to get why you have no karma. Perhaps you are reading to much into what people are saying. Complete in that context really means separate. I think and I believe is merely a polite way of writing. Any member of the community can tell you that those that preordered WoM get FE and the yet to be named expansion for free. I get why you are taking such a combative stance as you did get screwed on WoM. But instead of leaving you screwed, Stardock is trying to make up for it. They have
When I figure the cost of shop items into heroes I don't see a balance issue.
As easily as one can argue that without MP the game won't sell, I can argue that mostly people prefer MP for the challenge. Let's face it, most TBS has weak AI. By that I mean AI that uses ridiculous cheats to be even close to competitive with a human player. A great AI would probably convince many people that generally only buy games with MP to get FE. A good game is a good game, even without MP. That is the core of the issue for me. Is the game good? That is what needs to be proven
