Oh, if there will be more than just bug fixes, I would like someone to take a look at a saved game error I have been getting. You know, the old Hero costs 48347834732792.343 gildar error. I remember seeing this one a few moths ago and then it was fixed. I'll post some saved game files this morning.

Maybe a simple y=x+b is needed. Computer Faction Military Strength = Human Faction Military Strength -200. [e digicons]:ninja:[/e]

I think the AI should stay on its current path. I would be OK with computer factions having the ability to get bonuses from things the player does. Ex: Player defeats most of an enemy faction. One of the remaining factions would then get, for lack of a cooler term, chance card. The chance card will be in the form of a randomly picked major event that gives them some sort of equal and opposite power to blalance the game. This way one cannot steamroll the AI.

The AI needs to think differently at higher tech levels. I am pretty sure they won't even bother with many of the military advancements until there is absolutely nothing else worth getting. And when they do research fortify, for an example, they don't use it. Not a huge deal, but if they can't use it, we shouldn't have it either. I wonder if there is a way to change the AI's thinking at intervals, so it can think early, mid, late. Would certainly add a great deal to the game.

If we get this global events thing moving we can even make a later global event that gives a 3,00,000 gildar bonus to the Capitar's elite, you know, to keep the incentive for economic growth. We wouldn't want them switching sides.

Okay, so how much time and effort is needed? I think that one of the major changes brought on by Fallen Enchantress should certainly be a global effect system of some kind. And if they work on it for the expansion, it is only a few hours of extra work to add it to the original, right? FE is still in a design phase as I understand it and features are still being decided on. If Stardock took a pole of what users found most fun about TBS, they would absolutely find global events at the

This is an experimental engine to be sure. I think the benefits of its potential outweigh the extended birthing pains. The whole multithread thing is a very good concept. Hope it catches on along with all other parts of Stardock's unique gaming pathos. I do understand your frustration though. [e digicons]X|[/e]

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the weekend is almost over so I will have to put a pin in this until I finish midterms. Can I PM you with questions as they arrive?

Not long ago, the world was filled with the wonders of global events. I can say with great confidence that this was the icing on the GC2 cake that I still come back for after all these years. Global events add a much needed flavor to the core game. More than that, they add a myriad of possibilities to modding projects. I am quite sure it would only take a small amount of community support to at least have the code added back into the game for modding purposes. I do think this i

What does this mean, "builds units from diplomacy world resources?" I am very curious. Anyways, I will likely use summoning for one race, probably a master wizard that uses the goblin race from expanded factions. They will summon my (in progress) legion armies. Summons take up mana, but I can give this race settlements that increase their ability to sustain massive conjured attack forces. That way, when you kill them, they will just reset at the caster and come for you again. Muhahaha

Then they will at least attempt to stop the player from using it! (All factions declare war, get resources, spawn uber units, attack in unison.) Global events were in the game at one point. I am sure Frogboy will answer the call and add that back in if I can generate support. I will be making the map from the ground up. Every resource will be specifically placed adjacent to a neutral settlement. Each settlement will have a

So is the item limit for each tile there to allow any user to play with the mod, or will more robust ones simply crash the game? I ask because my level 7 cities are quite larger and have at least 20 people to a tile, but with just one city on the map, its doesn't seem to affect my frame rate. Anyone have some tested limits they are willing to share? I really like the Golem city, it looks rather angelic I must admit. Or at least that is how my Sunday sch

You could try one of the many maps that have preset resources. They are available for download from the main menu. How great is that? I recommend my own... Prirod.

I can't load units from the xml files. Am I just too tired to think or is this a WIP feature? Looks great though. A real time saver! Make me one for quests NAO!!!! [e digicons][/e] How do we make a creature that is compiled of more than one unit?

I demand that the AI can logically research late game technologies (the ones that are infinite). I have not noticed a good use of this by the AI. I demand that the AI can cast spells. Even in 1.19 they seem to totally avoid magic. I demand that the AI can properly see that he is being beaten by my invincible armies and sign a peace treaty without demanding insane amounts of gold. Why is the winner supposed to pay for peace? I demand that the AI can raze a city if it is
