You need to account for dodge and accuracy. But you are right about needing some changes to weapons. I suggest you take a look at the expanded weapons mod. It provides some much needed balance and very good tactical strategy. The AI can even use the special abilities it adds. Also, with higher logistics these numbers tend to balance better. And for that matter, armor has a complex equation that I don't have near me to decide how much damage it absorbs. So a spear can still take a chunk out of

Sions are much more powerful than heroes. They all have spell immunity and triple strike (savage strike). I have 30+ heroes and I am losing them by the dozens against these guys. Actually makes for some fun gameplay. I wouldn't change a thing. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Upping the dodge on Wraith's Veil to 10 might make it more reasonable, but the idea was to reduce something since I do not know if health or strength reduction is possible at this point. I like the city boost idea, but I think you could justify a whole chapter of magic for city buffs rather than having some added to unit stack. On a philosophical note, I was envisioning Bark Skin to be more like forming a tree into armor using terraforming magic. It is essent
Have you looked at the ice spells for code examples? TacticalUnit ChanceToLoseNextTurn .50
Crysis has a terrible stealth system. Who cares what it looks like?
I think epic gameplay requires quests to add interesting stories to the game. Motivate war or deception, turn allies into bitter rivals, reform the very balance of power, and give the underdog a chance to become a major player. It only seems logical to add to the quest system a possibility of global events to make the way we get quests even more vibrant. Entering an area or creating a labor guild should have the potential to open up a whole new world of possibilities. I see the
Don't feed the trolls! If he thinks these games are anything close to a clone of OOM or MOM he is obviously looking for a wall of text to ignore from people that need to correct him. Example: I don't mean to be rude but when are you going to make your own game Nintendo? Mario Tennis is a pretty obvious clone of Pong. And we all know you got Mariokart from watching Nascar. I was thinking death needs either a debuff for one's enemies (not sure if the AI can even think about such a thing) or a shadow spell. Will death cover all shadow magic or are you planning new books for the future? Cast on stack +5 dodge Requires an intelligence of 28 Costs 60 mana Call it Wraith's Veil or something ---------- For terraforming we could use something a little more subtle and unique Cast on
You have chosen wisely. I vote for sun rod of course. Love me some D&D style action.
I think FE will have initiative most likely. If they add it to the WoM code, all the better.
As an idealist, I often sound like a yes-man or fanboy. That is because I get so excited about the SD philosophy. Its a game company fit for the United Federation of Planets. In the future games will be made for the enjoyment of creation, not to make money or crush little geek's spirits (EA games). Quality is of course a function of money and most companies seem to hire businessmen to run their game companies. This is IMO why so many games suck. Due dates and general interference with the cre
If the AI built up its logistics, it could defeat nearly any hero. I would hate to see heroes nerfed before we have a competent AI logistically.
Nice strategy, going for bard really helps the economy and get you so many more heroes.
What happens when one of them leaves the stack?
Very excited for Counterstrike Source 2! Going to be the first shooter I have cared about since HL2 was anounced.
Great! For a buff spell I would like to see something like: Cast on stack +20% Health Cost 60 mana Require intelignce of 22 Call it Life Blood or something --------- Cast on stack +5 Strength Cost 60 mana Require inteligence of 25 Call it Titan's Might or something -------- Cast on stack +10 Inteligence Cost 60 mana Requires 35 Inteligence (This is much highe
This is the coolest game error I have ever seen. It reminds me of the old Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire N64 game. You could put on invincibility and just fly infinitely out into the wastes of Hoth. Then, if you turned a bit it would make the snowspeeder into a pen for drawing infinite speeders across the sky. Enjoy your bug, good sir, before the evil Stardockians steal it from you! [e digicons]8C[/e]
Have you given thought to spells cast on an entire stack? I don't remember the capabilities, but a strategic spell that gives +15% or so in any stat category would probably add some interesting flavor the the enchantment tree. It doesn't need to, but I think these kinds of spells are best if only lasting for a single season. Alternatively, it could be cast during the actual tactical battle.
Maybe a little bribe is in order. [e digicons][/e] Its too bad the mod community can't work on patronage. The problem is that we enjoy our mods too much to get paid for them.
And there is no way of making some software that can mediate between the two? Not my area of expertise but last time I wanted to talk to Jones I just called Mr.Cloud and he translated everything for me. But I defer to your wisdom.
Just win the quest competion.
Why can't they just make a sytem that allows for incremental increase? Don't tell me I to start recycling IP adresses too? [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Oh duh... I need a new graphics card, but I have gotten away with my 512Mb Radeon 1950x for a few years now and I am amazed it can still play new titles. Does this mean that Desktop hardware will be cheaper, because there is no new research costs, or more expensive, because there is no new model decreasing the value of a given product and fewer annual sales?
Ooh! [e digicons]:D[/e] The mana could be stored in statues that come to life to defend the capital. Now that would be epic. The more mana it has, the more powerful its spells are and it loses mana for each one cast. The temples that hold these sentries could be built instantly in the capital and only at level 5 for any other city. If one is destroyed, it might explode with what mana is left, devastating the map once again. I realize that is unmoddable and very unlikely t
Well, I was thinking that there are no high level boots in the magic section, so it would be nice to have a strategic spell to do the trick for us. Maybe it could be usuable on a whole party, but if not, just making some very fast and efficient scouts in the mid game would be a real convenience to those of us that play on larger maps. Maybe with these specs: +3 Strategic Movement For All Units In Caster's Stack +2 Sight -2 Mana Per Turn -40 Mana On
