Pfff, "farmland". Rename grain to cheese and rename food to cheeseburgers.
I found HoMM IV to be very very fun and a rewarding gameplay experience. Yes, heroes got to be super powerful in the upper levels, but the only time you'd even get that far would be in the campaign missions or super huge maps. I actually kind of liked it that way because it really made me get attached to my heroes (instead of generic knight hero, generic ranger hero, generic demon hero, etc.) in a way I hadn't been able to do in th
Would like terrain bonuses ofc but I'm not 100% sure if they'd work out well. I might settle for flanking, zone of control and attacks of opportunity.
What I meant is that FB purposely took the faster rout to keep the video shorter and to the point. Of course he knows he could've kept the wolf (almost) unhurt. Brad has flaws but he's not stupid. I just find it funny that people assume he's not aware of something this basic as if he's never played a TBS in his life time.
Age of Wonders 2 had a great system imo. There were no arbitrary +/- bonuses/penalties to individual hexes but high ground, choke points and zone of control with attacks of opportunity meant that terrain could be relevant in a battle.
Don't be smart alecky guys, Brad was just doing a quick play-by to show off beta 4. There was no need for him to play optimally, it would've only prolonged the video. Besides, Anna is fine. :) Still, it would probably be better if ASPCA didn't find out about Brad using his pet as cannon fodder. Edit: The "strength" trait should give some kind of combat bonus as well, not just carry weight. Unless one wants to rename it to "strong

We have more faction differentiation coming but the choice was to spread it out over more factions or cut back and spend more time on each. I want every faction to recieve the kind of attention Magnar and Gilden have, which means the tighter our scope, the better we can do. But we are leaving the races and all their pre-constructed in so if you would like to create a Umber or Capitar sovereign you have all the

Sweet stuff Derek, this game's finally gonna thrive under your care.
FE sounds like it's going to be Elemental, take 2. Kinda what CA did with Napoleon over ETW. Normally people would be pissed but SD are being very gracious about it. CA should've given a discount on NTW to people who previously bought ETW. In any case I'm pretty excited.
Well, Fertility is more for town population fertility. As such it's goal is to increase population growth rate. This growth rate depends directly on prestige. So the spell increases prestige
Oh, "fertiiiiiiiiiiility"! Now I get it. :P
Am I the only one who has a problem with a spell called "fertility" increasing prestige? :P Not that it can't be rationalized, it's just that one would expect such a spell to increase food production, not prestige. Maybe give it a different name like "Aura of Hope" or something. Also the fire spell descriptions might be incomplete but don't let fire spells just be different versions of "single target damage" affairs. If you have "Burning Hands" let it have short range but a cone AoE,

Increased combat morale would fit
Wow, dodge, spell resistance, accuracy, now we're getting somewhere. :)
So it's still possible for a high defense unit to roll a 0 (or a 1) and wind up with no defense that attack? That's concerning.
That same unit could roll 20 on its def. roll and still get "no defense" if the attacker rolled 21 accuracy, it's a moot point. Just like in DnD accuracy/dodge determine whether a unit is hit or not and then the damage reduct
