As a followup I managed to get another caravan attacked. This time I choose fight and the caravan was destroyed. Immediately a new one was sent out from the original city. This is good behavior and just backs up my opinion that Caravans should not have the option of retreating.

I've suspected this myself but haven't had the chance to run a test case for it. I'm hoping the save games are fixed this week as it would help a ton with testing.
In a recent game I had a caravan attacked and selected the retreat option. The caravan was then stuck in location permanently for the rest of the game. It could not be selected to move, merged with another unit or any other trick I could think of. It just sat there permanently non-moving! Caravans should probably not be allowed to retreat from combat but should be an automatic casualty unless they have a defender with them.

Some people may not want to watch it, and they have a right not to have it shoved down their faces, but others may not have a problem with it and its also their right to feel that way. All these protests and boycotts over "objectionable content" in games, movies and such i

Read before posting "If you have a suggestion which does not involve the game systems that we're focusing on in the current phase, please post them in the Ideas forum rather than under Beta feedback." It is a good idea but lets make sure it is in the right place so we don't make things hard for the QA folks!
Add Battleships to the list of game crashing techs.
My work around attempt didn't work in my last game. I believe I might be able to work around it if the city grows to the next size. I just know that sometimes I've been able to build afterward getting this problem.
I've mentioned before but didn't have the proof that you can place lumbermills in bad locations. As a result in the second

During construction on one of my cities I had a CTD. Looks like memory allocation issues with the game from a quick parasing of debug.err
Let me present another model. Because while I don't like warehouse management in my games, I do like supply lines and logistics management as a battle strategy. Is it just going to sit there when you don't need it for swords? No, the people are going to demand it for making buildings, utensils, farming tools, etc. So what is in "storage" is simply a reserve. Each initial town area is built with limited "storage". It should cap out early and easily and the player should rarely

Tweak the numbers of Iron WAY down. (like 1/3 of now) We could use 2/3 of the generic farms we have IMO. Make sure dragon shrines aren't double spawning right next to each other. I've seen that on a few maps.
DDO has a wonderful price for a high quality MMO. If you can stand playing D&D then you should give it a try.
If you want it to minimize the crashing then I hope your posting debug files about some of your crashes! This is normal for a beta. Some patches are better some are worse for stability. If it was that easy to make bug free they wouldn't need betas! I do have a problem with the camera deciding to just slide, but I'm still trying to figure out more about when it happens and what is causing it. So I looked at the card for my caravans and noticed the first things they're transferring are gold and food. Why? what good does it do? from all I can see we have a kingdom wide pool of gold so how does shuffling it from city to city help? Also, both cities were transferring food to the other. How does this help? I suspect the gold was actually trade and was increasing my income, but I'm not sure and have no way of telling.
When you demolish a building in the build option, you do not have the option of building anything new in its place (or anywhere else). I demolished two huts with the intent of upgrading the mud collectors to hovels or something, but no dice. You should be able to rebuild after demolition.
When you select a research field in the research tree I've found they often move positions. The one you select changes positions with another. If you double click you select the wrong tech to research. Selecting the tech in its new position (2nd position) works just fine with no movement.
Text clips way too early in unit design See what I named my unit in the picture, there was no carriage return entered. When I go to train the unit the name appears just fine.
