So I see that the game is listed as "Fallen Enchantress" but that the graphic still lists Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. Was a decision made about which way you guys are going?
Brad said repeatedly that it got canned because they didn't have the time to develop it into a system they would like. Essentially, when all features were prioritized it wasn't high enough on the list.
You do know there IS NO political [or other] advantage to be had [for the UCI] in stripping a person's results years AFTER an event, not when the very act indicates some failing in the system at the time. The results were/are done and dusted. The only on-going result from 7 Tour victories is to Armstrong's bank balance. The reason the issue has come to light NOW rather than then is clearly [a bit of] finger
So maybe it's common knowledge, but I just noticed that resources that are claimed via an outpost's area of influence do NOT get assigned to the city that the outpost is attached to. Resources get assigned to the city nearest the resource. So my outpost and resource that are right next to each other are actually assigned to different cities, despite the fact that the outpost is required for me to claim the resource. Would it make more sense for the resources

An international sports committee getting something wrong? Never.... He may have cheated, but there's a sizable chance that he didn't.
Add a UI screen to the Govern section that lists your outposts, their attached city, their existing upgrades, the resources under their influence, and has a mechanic to allow you to build other upgrade, all without leaving the screen. Maybe a small world map with a highlighted box so you know where the outpost is. It would look a lot like the city screen. Problem solved. Edit: Oh, and I agree with the 3-turn minimum discussion.
I love the current road system. I enjoy spending more time on quests and armies and big picture stuff instead of little boring details like building roads.
The current road system would be fine, if it built decent roads. See below for a textbook example of dumb road placement. The city to the top left is my capital. The city to the right, that all my traffic has to go through to stay on t
I think people assuming that dropping the Elemental name is going to somehow hide the fact that the game is both by the same guys who did E:WOM and set in the same universe are deluding themselves. Every single review will mention WOM. Every one of them. WOM's launch was that spectacularly bad AND WOM's issues play directly into whether or not EFE is a good game. Did Stardock really learn from their mistakes? That will be the thrust of nearly every review
Yes. Large map, hard AI. Custom faction + all canon factions.
It is strange to me that I can pursue either of these victory conditions and the other empires in the game pay zero attention. You mean to tell me that these opposing great magical heroes have no way to notice the giant magical spires that my kingdom is building or that I'm riding all over their land fighting major battles and recovering godly artifacts? The fact that I can chase either victory option without repercussion is in itself weird. It is exacerbated by
Many possible locations for Cloud Walk are showing up invalid because "Target tile cannot be occupied by an enemy unit." This despite the obvious fact that there are no enemy units in that tile (or even in the surrounding tiles). The problem seems to be tied to areas that USED TO BE wildlands that I have already conquered. In my current game I have two wildlands under my control and both are useless as far as cloudwalk is concerned. <im
We need better event notification. When my half-a-world spanning empire has an outpost destroyed "Our outpost to the Northwest was destroyed my lord" doesn't cut it.
and, it would add to immersion if there were some quests that demanded immediate action. So you either go on the quest or the opportunity is lost. I have one that does that for my quest adventure pack I am making.
I would love some intentional immediate action quests. They could add a lot of flavor to the game in so many ways. Speaking of, where the hell are the random events?
Did you pass one turn before checking? It takes a turn for enchants to update. Or it did in Beta 3. I haven't paid any attention to it yet in Beta 4.
Seen them all the time I played yesterday (not alot, but it DID work!) So hope there isn't a bug. Sincerely ~ Kongdej
After several hours of playing today, I never had a problem with #2. I was probably just being dumb/blind.
Since Beta 5 is the polish/bug fix/balance beta I thought it might be useful to put together a list of small, potentially non-obvious, bugs that detract from the game. I don't care about the major bugs in this post, because they are obvious problems that get their own threads and will be fixed (the save game issue some people are experiencing, the tactical combat slow down, etc). What I want to point out are the minor annoyances (which many games ship with) that, while they do
It amazes me when people see a lingering bug and assume that means the developers either don't know about it or don't care. Is it possible that based on their development flow they purposefully ignore certain bugs because they know that this code has to get messed with anyway? Or is it possible that they are ignoring bugs in exchange for concentrating resources on development of the major systems (which may alleviate or aggravate the bugs in que
#2: I may have just been blind. I see the upgrade now listed in my city "Build" list. I plan to keep watching and see if I just missed it or if the options doesn't always show up when it should. It's probably my screw up though.
That wouldn't make sense; you could potentially build a dock 10 squares away from the city.
You mean like your mines, shards, and food resources??? I think this is the solution as well. Treat rivers and forests like resources. If you want access, you should expand for it. Once it is in your zone of control, you can build it. But it has to be protected like your other resources that are outside the cit
Overall I love the city management changes. The associated UI detracts from otherwise excellent progress on this part of the game. 1. Double clicking in an area around the city automatically builds the alphabetically first item in the available build list even if you are not in the build list. Double clicking while the city is selected should NEVER automatically build something. Especially not something I haven't previously selected. You can und
