While I don't disagree with any points, #1 is the only one I'd strongly agree with. The rest are minor in comparison. It starts out great, and then the story kind of hides in bestiary pop-ups and the occasional message from Pariden giving you something or a the world map quests. More than anything, make use of triggered events! Make things happen that show the player they are involved in a story and not just playing a slightly modified campaign map. &n

In all the thousands of posts in this beta forum, find one complaining about heroes being OP. Just one. I can't find a single one, not that it may not exist, but it is hard to find. Even people arguing that it is alright the way it is aren't arguing that it is too much.
Your conclusion doesn't follow f
Looks like this is possibly just an issue with Abeix. Just killed Vetrar and here's the screen. Notice, great XP, fancy weapon, and the trophy.
My party was my Sovereign, Mausolos, and 2 henchmen going up against Abeix. My Sovereign got 7xp and a belt that I'd actually already received from an unguarded goodie hut early in the game. No trophy. None of the new boss specific items. No other items, just the belt.
1. Most Single Units. 2. You cannot, and I don't think there are otherways to get henchmen. 3. Yes, XP split exists among heroes and not henchmen. The henchman defining feature is not that they do not divide battle XP, they have other features about them and there is a tag that can set for any hero just the same. It is also not like that Mausolos cannot be left alone or moved to another army. He doesn&
Several questions: Is everyone you pick up from quests (like Mausolos) a hero? How do you tell heroes apart from henchmen (if it's possible to get henchmen in ways other than training)? Does the xp split still exist among heroes, but NOT henchmen? For Mausolos in particular, if he's a hero (as opposed to a henchmen) it is pretty bad given the quest story line that he's going to guard my sovereign until the end of days
Yes, there are mysteries to explore. There is no bug, those are working as designed.
Ooohhh... I found the (a?) solution to the frog alter. Exciting stuff. Really enjoying the scenario so far.
I've played several more turns and had other factions OFFER me tribute. I may have just misread the first one from Pariden. If so, sorry for the confusion.
Maybe working as intended, but when I did the wishing well quest near the starting location I selected "I wish that I have the power to save Anthys from the Fallen" (or something similar). I got a prompt that all I could do was hope that the old well had enough power in it to grant my wish. And then nothing. Nothing the next turn either. Maybe something later on? Or maybe I just picked the bad wish? Not sure if this is intended or not.
So the scenario starts and Pariden is all "we're in this together, here have this free stuff, why don't you protect that flank, etc" which does an awesome job of setting the scene. I'm rolling along, several turns later killing some Syndicate near my one town when Pariden comes to me.. demanding tribute of all of my gold. Not sure if it's a bug or intended or what, but it was a bit jarring to see those demands from the same faction who, less than a dozen t

The new amounts are great. You have to consciously decide when/where you want cavalry, as it should be. No longer can you have horse mounted troops everywhere. They are a powerful complement to your army rather than your entire army.
Cloud walk is uncastable on territory that used to be a Wildland, even after that Wildland has been conquered and settled. Can provide a save if needed.
Caster heroes, even those with "melee" weapons equipped like the starting caster staff should be treated as ranged units for troop placement at the start of a battle. Caster heroes are still starting in the front lines with the melee troops if they have a staff/dagger.
