I'm curious if time limits will still be in effect for AI decision making. GalCiv2 AI got funny because the AI appeared to get better when a number of bot players were eliminated near mid game.

Not pigs, SWINE! [e digicons]:P[/e] So judging on Frogboy's explanation then if my empire is about to be successfully invaded then I could rush an exodus for my ahem imperial 'specialists' ftw. This mechanic could lead to some interesting gameplay such as quickly shifting strategies from fast rusher to big boomer to hard techer by a simple rearranging of minions. Oh and guildsmen sounds kinda kingdomish.
I can still play Fall From Heaven! No news on steamworks there, um yet.
Diplomacy already is a finite resource because you can't keep trading techs forever. Ok so you traded all your techs, now what? This is the reason why global voting systems were created for 4x games. Side note, public auctions would be cool.
My big complaint is win7 seems to crash at random a lot while streaming. I've used many different programs to no avail. Maybe it's something else? I dunno, pretty much given up at this point.
We can't exactly 'beeline' techs in Elemental the same way as Civ4 or GalCiv2. That fact alone changes everything.
I think the channelers would rewrite the book on 'divine right' or worse.
Aliens in fantasy = more humanoid aliens and maybe less than 100% of them are ugly. Reminds me of Anime.
M any M en O nline R ole P laying G irls Or at least that's what customization tools like that get used for.
FBI agent, like Fox Moulder? I think they were shooting for X-Files. This isn't exactly new news because it was leaked when a member of the bioshock team left. History is repeating itself, the only difference is before they got the forums to buzz about System Shock 2 to justify the investment to make Bioshock.
A new way of thinking of the infamous line in the sand concept or at least for 4x gaming. [e digicons]^_^[/e] Short Description: Some game mechanics like specific spells in Elemental operate within the owner's nation only. Adding a contested cross border regional area/neutral zone territory split between two or more nations (probably a result of whatever the currently active close range war is) opens a whole new d
So Impulse TV does live streams of gamers 24/7?
What about foraging for food in times of starvation? If the land is fertile then there must be something out there that's edible.
Why not have food as both bonus resources to be individually caravan transported and as a global resource? This way you offer some reward to the micromanaging players for creating and running an extremely efficient empire without making it a requirement for players who just want to play the game. Designing the game this way could also allow the AI to be more competitive without (hopefully) dumping more valuable company resources into better AI. Traditonally AI players in gam
Glass bunkers, hard counter oriented, illusions of choice (mules vs scan) have all contributed to damaging the hype around this game. SC2 has way too many serious problems right now.
Some parts of this complaint have already been addressed with the new surrender mechanic redrawing the fantasy battlespace. This also appears to have been theoretically addressed in Civ5's combat system but that is for another thread. By design, tbs 4X games are faulted to be late game tedious because they usually follow the norm strategy to crush the weaker or little guy. You claim his land, resources, ect and move to your next little guy target growing ever bigger with e
Sovereigns! Definitely sovereigns for the sovereign.
I'm very surprised that this discussion hasn't mentioned Battlenet2.0 yet. Want Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, next gen World of Warcraft? Then go through Battlenet 2.0 (beta). Point is the new players are in town and Impulse is being (unfairly) singled out for abuse.
The so called 'hero' who ransacks tombs is nothing more than a grave robber. That loot or treasure belongs in a museum not at the local bazar.
*epic music* Legends whispered speak of The Rogue Captain . Who is the RC? Nobody knows but the tales of his deeds go far and wide throughout the world. Okay that was really really lame but it would be cool if Stardock would reward its players by adding their names to the random hero name generator.
A bigger problem is the ridiculous road spam all over the area. It looks and plays awful.
The word Email (male) is so sexist. Proper terminology is EPERSON! I'm shocked shocked at the blatant display of typical male gamer sexist bigotry on this forum . Seriously, the law must be applied to all citizens equally reguardless of sex, race, origin, beliefs and ideology. The law has clearly mandated no sexual relations with mi
But in Elemental the population = military. Only after they're trained. Until then, they're just soft squishy things.
That is what the great Heroes are for. Haven't you seen the movies? The hero always gets there first, warns the people of impending disaster and then inspires them with charismatic speeches, takes the reigns of leadership to work with what
The funnest weakness/talent system I ever saw was in Fallout. Every weakness could be utilized as a strength under specific conditions. For example, the flower child would double the effects of all drugs but reduce the longevity by 50%. The one hander slinger gives your hero a glory hand but any activity involving 2 hands is an epic fail. You had to work around these and build accordingly to your stregnths so in the end your man would shine when played proper. It
