Jobs are tough to come by in this economy. These days, if you're not already established and you want a job you have to either get really lucky or make it yourself. Making your own job is quite simply beyond the abilities of a many of people, especially young people who don't have work experience and haven't seen a business run from the perspective of an employee, much less an entrepreneur.

You can be a Trog too if you want that stat line. Same situation with Krax. This information should be made more apparent in the faction creati
Played for like an hour. Unfortunately this thing is shittily coded so I had performance issues for no goddamn reason and since the demo doesn't allow you to save and restart there wasn't a damn thing I could do about. Finally crashed just now. Haven't even gotten to the point where I'd unpause the game yet either.
This game has successfully Alt-tabbed far more consistently for me than many games. It's quite solid for such an early beta.
Why does this even matter? You don't like it, don't get one. That's what almost everybody is going to do. Also people can already track you using your cell phone if they want to. Turning off or leaving behind your phone is easier than taking out a chip, sure, but you can do either if you need to go to ground.

I gained access to forest drakes (the sprite for their lairs is missing, by the way) and when I went to edit other units, I saw Forest Drake on the list. I was able to give it equipment including a mount, but trying to give it new traits caused the game to crash - probably because it had three already. I haven't tested extensively so I don't know if other creatures have the same issue.
New water color is wrong. It looks like someone put blue food coloring in milk. Old color was better, but a still better color would be one that emulates actual water colors rather than just being blue.

Clearly this is something which isn't fully complete/integrated. Good thing you brought it up! I just came here to make the "trolls are recruited by the forums" joke; too bad Xan already botched it.
For instance, I don't like having improvement placement at all. I'd prefer that players chose their building and the game simply placed the improvement taking out the whole location thing because it creates the implication that placement matters and it really doesn't other than "snaking" which really isn't a very good mechanic.
If snaking goes away we need another way to wall off choke points.
You're gonna use a lot of the art assets from the WoM mod, I imagine. That's good, means this is a good way to completion already. 1. Tactical combat still isn't fun. 2. Stability -there's a lot of crashes and hangs, especially on bigger maps. 3. The scale tweaks - maps are too small and I can't zoom in enough. This stuff was actually better in WoM. AI isn't perfect yet, but I taking into account the work that has been done and will continue to be done, I think it's okay.

Yeah, this is a good idea. Governor heroes are undersupported as things are now. But this (and maybe a few more small bonuses spread across different perks) will make them great. Especially coupled with something like seanw3's mage tower idea.
seanw3, if you have the actual modding ability and perseverence to back up your ambitious ideas, your mods will make Elemental into a hugely awesome and versatile game. I'm honestly not sure if changes to this degree are even possible, though.

I agree. Stick a trade tab in the menu, to auto-construct caravans. The current system is a small step backwards from the GalCiv system, except unlimited routes means it needs a big step forward.
Agree. I'm liking the tech speed, but more options if you want to ramp tech production up to super high or whatever would be fine.
Yeah, this is an issue. Should just not use magic on autoresolve, since presumably if the battle's close enough to be worth using magic, you'll want to do it yourself. That's not necessarily true considering how unfun tactical battles are at the moment, but that's a separate issue which should be addressed separately.

I am still lobbying for this (yes I know lots of people wouldn't be happy with that but there's a ton of other things that could be worked on that would be much more useful).
I don't really understand why
The cool thing about this game is that since Stardock is actually a pretty big company, there are multiple people who work on this game and can do stuff with the different aspects of it. That means Derek can work on heroes (which aren't actually OP if you pay attention to resources invested) and Brad can work on AI.
Heroes can't be everywhere at once
They can if you have a caster with the third tier of air spells.
More options are always good. But the issue with hero balance has nothing to do with the rate at which the heroes level.
I kind of like the current system even though it can be limiting. It gives opportunities to adapt, and special goals that can be worth warring over.
