I love the picture showing your capital blocking off any access to the valley to its east. It goes to show exactly how strategic city placement most certainly matters. With pioneers I think it increases this importance as you now must consider what resources are around locally plus how effective the city is at securing resources farther away.
I thought we were talking about food being "stored locally".. Because, no I don't like the idea of a cit being self sustaining, I just don't want caravans to be meaningless. So your saying even though a resource is "global" caravans are still going to take food there? Or is it that if my city in the desert is starving and they didn't store any food, they have until my "global" stockpile of food runs out until they starve? Tha

I'm not in favor of absolutely no movement around enemy troops. Choices are always better, imo. I would like more if when moving past fortified enemy positions then the enemy ranged units get free attacks and the entire army has the possibility of some kind of ambush attack on the following turn. That way you can choose to take the chance to move past a fortification, but at the risk of taking damage and giving the enemy a large advantage.

I hope people get tired of this fast and it dies. I SERIOUSLY hope this isn't the future of computer gaming. If it is I may end up going over to totally Indie games and underground software, not to mention console gaming. Next they'll be using this to I.D. people online. Then the forms of discrimination will come into play s

This might be true with regard to chess, but it is not with regard to a fantasy TBS. Complexity can add a lot to the depth of the game[play], if the complex elements get implemented properly.
Like I said before, we'll have to disagree. You seem to think that TBS is some special case in strategy games where depth only comes from compl
How can you compare chess or go to a turn based fantasy strategy game? Strategic thinking? Sure, I agree, but if you don't have the necessary talent, you won't be good in it ever. Besides, maybe chess has depth, but I find it utterly boring, while I love to play with a complex fantasy TBS.
The talent for chess is the same as the talent for a game such as Starcraft or a TBS. It is the ability to look forward into the f
It cannot.
Then we'll have to disagree. I'm not of the opinion that adding complexity inherently increases depth while simplicity reduces it. There's too many games that are simple yet have more depth than most 'complex' games.
May I ask that what is the problem with complexity? I understand that complex games ain't very popular amongst the casual players, but it's a bad thing if a game has incredible depth + it's complex as well? In my book that is a good thing, but I am not a casual, that is true as well.
There's nothing wrong with depth using complexity, I would just say that depth without complexity is better. Regardless if the game is actually worth $45 dollars, you definitely need to check the minimum system requirments before purchasing a game. In this case, your laptop is no where near powerful enough to run the program.

I'll say I didn't lie because I'm not arguing strategy anymore, but congratulations on posting developer thoughts from a month ago. There's been 2 patches since then, plus one that was released nearly the same time the developer chat was. If you think things are the same now then you really need to get yourself checked. And Maruaders are also heavily discussed as being OP. You really need to get your facts straight, because most of the non-opinion statements you've made have been wron

I guess Nostalgiatag micro isn't up to par with others because I've seen Reapers outmanuever 3 zealots at time when they were actually moving seperatly and not just following in a pack. And if you get proxy pylon'd then you need to keep an eye on your base better. It takes way too long to get warp gates for any kind of effective rush. And yes, that is why they made them vunerable during warp in. Since this convo seems to be going no where I'll just finish with me laughin

Protos have cheese where if a probe gets into your base they can make life hell. And Terrans have Reapers. The basic problem in each case is that the counter strategy requires far more thought than the original strategy. That's what makes it so maddening. Pr
