A question befor I'll buy one: * Are there random elements and how many - I love randomness. * Can I create my own race, add my own graphics (jpg inject or so), create my own ship models? * About automation - what automation would you suggest for the low intermediate player (for the first 3 games for example) - I playes GC2, MOO2&3, SOTS and similar but I am wondering if I could set the autos so I wouldn't be overwhelmed with options and still ha

I like how this is shown in Total war games. When you have the roads and invest in trade buildings automatically the wagons are appearing and begin to travel. That's a nice feature showing the 'living' province.

I will not buy a localized product, no matter how high its quality, because I will not support the kind of sub-contracting that developers give to the German distributors. I hate the fact that they refuse to give us Germans a choice; the Witcher, for example, you could get as a digital download from, for example, Steam or Impulse -- but you could not download the English original version in Germa

T4 is built on that base with some new buildings, random missions (go achieve something), disa

But I found the scene in the underground pool beautifull. Of course it's quite absurd - the self-undress spell - what a waste of magic energy:)

[quote who="Frogboy" reply="11" id="3006409"]Well, I do the UI design on FE and then Paul Boyer takes it from there. I'm sure I have a sketch somewhere but basically there will be an army box to the right of the selected unit that shows the units in the army and displays a cue to let you know how many units you can potentially have in your army based on your tech level (starts at I think 4 units per army and goes up from there but I'm not sure what it'll end up being).<

ANd we don't have a single one dev diary about music/sounds in FE. The souns of EWoM are just increasing the overall 'meh' feeling when I'm starting the game. Just as you said. I think the MoM have more sound samples!? I always play with the sound and music on. When I bought my first PC it was without sondcard and I thought I could live without it... but I was running to the store few days after purchase. Remember the chorus and Max von Sydow from Skyrim trailer? That

The old Settlers' style of defining borders was nice. Everything you 'see' from guard post/tower/castle is yours until you are close to enemy military buildings. It was nice to see how the borders were changing after manning new buildings or capturing enemy ones. @HenriHaki - EU was and is about money, not liking. First - trade of steel and coal, then everything else.

Quad Core 9650 3 GHz CPU (on Socket 775 in my case) In Oblivion I use OOO and QTP3 and bunch of unofficial patches, nature wildlife, natural weather HDR/water/vegetation, harvest, economy, brighter torches/loading screens. I've tried to make a benchmark for you from some playing but the game quit on me when Alt+Tabbed :( I only managed to notice 143FPS in some small dungeon with torch on. One more thing about W7. For a few months running it never hard fr

Because they need to be 3d modelled for the purpose of tactical battles. That's why in EWoM we have less creature types then in MoM. Hours and hours of modellers and animators cost a lot. I wonder if someone made a list of number of creatures/spells/terrain types/sound FX/Heroes comparing MoM with EWoM.

Buy 64 bit version and pack it with RAM. I did that with mine and running The Wither 2 with almost max on HD res;> Of course it needs neat CPU and GPU but not latest. Weird things - where are the firewall settings (wf.msc). Where are network connections (network center and 'change the network card settings' - reverse translation). You need to do a little research if you want to use it with current media types (X264/DTS in mkv with srt) but it's doabl

Great screenies. My two thoughts * One thing that's too artificial is the city ZOC. I'd be glad if it was replaced with something like Settlers' like border poles with certain color scheme. * Resource/terrain specific improvements should be built at the certain resource/terrain. If I build the water mill at the river city it should be available only at river tiles and it's graphic should blend in the river graphic. Great stone spires at empire city. It

I guess the idea used in HOMM is good. Depends of some skill/technology/special units I can verify if the army is strong/weak, more detailed information and at last the exact type and number of troops and fortification/war machines. The mechanics could use hero skills, technology, faction perk, special units and even whole diplomacy section.
