Its not just TBS. On huge SoaSE maps it usualy happens after you control about 40% of the galaxy and realize it is just steamrolling the enemy for the next 2 or 3 hours.

Actually, logic is limited, but it works anywhere in this universe. The only place it may break down would be another universe/dimension where the basic laws of how things work do not apply. Even then, most of it would remain the same.

I think it's using a system of govenors, ie algorithms that can manage stuff for you.I would guess they will be similar, albiet more useful, to the governors found in empire total war. Set it to automanage contruction and taxes, letting you deal strictly with military. They won't be quite as good at the tasks as you will though. Thats my 2 cents worth anyway.

How fast a species evolves is somewhat based on how well suited to their environment. Based on your argument, beavers are more well suited to their environment than we are to ours. The reason beaver dams are the same is purely functionality. If you make a beaver dam any different it just wont work.

http://www.stonemakerargument.com/1.html The argument that God has always existed is no more or less valid than saying the same of the Universe. Apply Occam's Razor here. Can we disprove god? No. Therefore, it is not science.
there natural instinct is much more enhanced than ours is today, with everything we have now-a-days we've lost alot of the naturall evolution in us, we become dependent on our "things". Without technology we woulnt be what we are today. u could argue we are much more, or we are slightly less.
And one could argue that our technology is just another part of out evolution. Albiet a somewhat more Lamarckian part.

Ya, the E3 2005 version was WAY better than the end product. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8dvMDFOFnA Heck, I would buy the spore from that video in a heartbeat. Unfortunately they totally redid the graphics and pretty much all of the game to the point where it is a little kid game which should have been titled 'An introduction to video games.' And to add insult to injury, put a bunch of DRM on it

I think the farms are within the city itself. As has been stated before, to take a city one must conquer their way in to the keep. This means that food would be able to be cut off, but not by the caravan blockade. You would have to get to the tile which has the farms on it. The multi-tile cities mean that there is no caravan, but you can still conquer the various parts seperately.

Ya, it is a great idea. The only problem I can forsee is that unless you mod the channeler to be fun to control, battles may be a bit boring. A channeler would usually be in an army in battle, and so will need to be simple to control in battle to prevent it from being overwhelming in normal gameplay. This could leave the player of a single channeler as his army bored since they would have very little to do.
then there's Sim City Societies...
*gag* I can't believe I actually payed money for that peice of crap. Pointless, stupid, and nowhere near the awesomeness which I had expected from a Sim City title.

Yes, Spore is probably the biggest disappointment in a long time. I first saw the E3 2006 pre-alpha build... and it looked amazing. Unfortunately, they took the great looking pre-alpha and turned it into a peice of crap. All it is good for now is kids under 10 and Sporn. Although you gotta give them props for coming up with a new art form (sporn), albiet inadvertantly.

1. It is true they are losing money (hence staff layoffs). 2. I got the impression from the msnbc article about it that he left for his own reasons rather than as a layoff. 3. I don't think EA would fire him, since he is probably one of their most profitable developers (what with the Sims and all). After reading the article: 4: "EA will hold rights to develop games that come from the company." This means that he is essentially still working for EA, just as a sl

Banned for suggesting the game can be won. And for suggesting that one can be truely free. And for suggesting that you can be banned for achieving these two suggestions.

Hehe, ya the ship designer... You will spend quite awhile in that if you spent an hour customizing your race. The biggest problem I have is that I can't stand to play strategy games on anything but the largest of the large map sizes. This combines with my large amounts of classwork (17 semester hours and 2 high school classes) to give me a large number of unfinished save games. [e digicons]X|[/e]
