Yeah, I had considered the PSU... My boss at work mentioned it may be a virus stuck in the Bios, so I removed the battery to clear it. I only got the blue screen once, after Elemental crashed it. There was a dump on the screen, but it went by so quickly I didn't see much. Anyway, getting to the Event View after these crashes is impossible since it won't boot at all, not even in safe mode. This may be related, but the sys
This thread got me wondering if I'm understanding how books work. The way it seems like it works is you start with X number of books and you add books you find as loot, etc. Later, LAR
Internal SATA is a mature technology at this point. You should have any troubles with it on a modern OS. I also don't think your hard drive is the problem. The integrity checks are happening because your computer isn't shutting down cleanly. Your shutdowns could really be caused by anything though. Is windows crashing (ie blue screen) or is the computer simply shutting off? If Windows is crashing you can go into the Control Panel, go to Administratio

I have to wonder if this is a test of sorts for Sony and if it works they integrate Steam further into PSN. For Sony it beats having to build their own offering to compete with XBL. Steam is already there and has infrastructure in place. Like Tridus, I also seriously doubt this will change anything for Steam powered games. Later, LAR
Such passion on this thread.[e digicons][/e] I don't care how stacks are limited, be it by hard coding because only so many units can fit on a chunk of land or threat of destruction by magic. I just don't want to the see the game dissolve into whoever has the biggest stack wins. Later, LAR

In addition or instead of the combat rating, could we have a way to figure out the the % chance of success vs a given opponent. Say though the game running a few mock auto-resolves in the background? The problem I'm finding is the one talked about here, you have a bunch of high defense, low attack adventurers. They can have a combat rating of 50+, but can't actually hit an enemy with any kind of defense. This situation makes the combat rating less than us
Um.. ok then. Later, LAR
Having played plenty of CivIV games where the computer just makes gigantic stacks that you can't possibly defend everywhere against, I have to say I want limits in the game. That being said, I fully expect a "unit" of peasants to actually be like 50 peasants. Like in Total War games, the epicness is in how those units are displayed in tactical combat, which is really just graphical representations of the unit's hit points. Later, LAR
I'll get a new version of Office when they get rid of the ribbons. I've been using 2007 for two years and it still takes me forever to find anything I don't use that often. 2003 for life!!! Later, LAR
right now all that seems to matther is total combat rating - single attributes dont matter, just be stronger and you will kill your oponent - i REALLY hope the tactical battles will be tactical in a way that smart moves, use of abilities/spells and unit combination will let you beat an enemy that has a much higher combat rating...
Actually, I had a battle with four heroes that can't kill a mob because their attack rating is too low

The title is a bit of a misnomer, but I couldn't resist it. [e digicons][/e] I like how in 1vsAI games you start with two weaker Sovereigns instead of one really strong one. I hope this is a feature that makes it into single player games as well. It adds a nice variation. I know this is probably asking too much, but it'd be cool if you could do the dual Sovereign thing in the character creator too. With the creation points spread out between th

Unfortunately only one person would get credit. I suspect the devs may not like my question though. I a
If this discussion is based on what's in the game right now then it should be tabled. Too much that can affect building units isn't in the game right now to have an informed opinion. Later, LAR
You could try turning the graphics settings down too. I'm not 100% sure at what point the problem's beginning, but it should help once you're actually playing. Another solution, if you can do this in Crossfire (nVidia man myself), is disable one of the graphics cards when playing Elemental. That should drop your power draw by enough so your UPS is happy. Other than that, all I can say is the normal "this is a beta and because it's still in development it's
I hear a lot about this game, but I can't manage to even understand the interface, let alone the capability to build complex fortresses. I got as far as digging out a tunnel, and building a carpenter's workshop. There's far too much going on in this game for me to grasp. Perhaps someone can steal this idea and make a similar game except make it more accessible, maybe release it as a wiiware game so dummies like me ca

The attached screenshots are of the same turn with my Sovereign appearing in one spot on the cloth map and another on the 3D map. The Sovereign's model appears to be in the wrong spot on the 3D map.
I had an odd occurrence during a Multiplayer 1vsAI game. I took over the AI's only city early in the game without kill their Sovereign. At this point my only city is the one I captured. I then tried to create a new city with a different name(made sure the name was different). When the new city was created it had the exact same name as the first city, couldn't expand and because it also couldn't be clicked on it would gobble up any units you sent into it.
Same thing here, recruited a group of three adventurers in a 1vAI game and ended up with negative gildar. Can get to my save here . Later, LAR
