All the people talking about Dwarf Fortress got me wondering how many amusing stories there are out there. After all fortress mode is kinda about building your Dwarves up to die in the most spectacular way possible. =) My only story actually happened to a friend. He was going about his business when a Colossus decided to pay him a visit. Scrambling to protect his Dwarves he gets as many as he can inside and raises the draw bridge to his fortress. Essentially tr
So! What I'm asking here is for the Dedicated Server software to support this as well, and support it to the point where if one player activates a map change trigger, it moves THEM over, and not EVERYONE in the game.. It MIGHT already do so, in which care merely seeking confirmation. But I believe the likeliest scenario with the dedicated server software at the moment to be that if a map transition takes place, EVERYONE in the game gets shift
always making the same units with the same equipment +++ will soon be boring.
While it likely won't be as in depth, the unit creation system is similar to the one in Galactic Civilizations 2 and I always had different units when I played that game. Btw, it would be nice if I could add purely cosmetic equipment to units like in GalCiv2. If I have a catapult it'd be cool to add spikes or skulls to it or something. Mayb

Both sites are the same company and share the same database, so you will only get credit for one or the other.
So you'll continue getting points for posting on multiple wishlists? I kinda figured you'd only allow one site per person since you can game the system by just going to as many wishlists a

If I'm understanding what you're saying you'd like soldiers to be able to trade equipment with heroes? I think the problem with that is a hero is only one person while a "soldier" unit may be made up of a dozen individuals. Later, LAR

I'm not sure I understood "Non-Canon custom races are not enabled (Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Goblins, Drengin, Drath, etc.)". Are you saying the only custom races are based off of normal Humans or that the listed races are disabled or that custom races in general are disabled? Later, LAR

Rarity informs what color it is once you've researched its prerequisites. Occurrence determines whether or not it's in the game.
That's sweet. Btw, did you mean "AppearanceChange"? I don't see an occurrence tag. Man I really want to mess around with this xml file no

Well if it's like GalCiv2, and as easy to "game the system", then I say prereqs should be kept in the game, but can be ignored. I forget which game it is, heck it may actually be GalCiv2, but every once in a while you'd research something that would give you the next two levels of a technology. I'd treat prereqs kinda like that, with each level having a significantly smaller chance of being discovered if the prereqs haven't been discovered yet. In the above graphic, if I hav

I played it and while starship combat is fun as hell, it's a bit repetitive. Pretty much all of the space and "ground" combat is exactly the same with little deviation. It also doesn't/didn't take that long to reach Admiral. Someone dedicated to playing can do it in a few days. Later, LAR

I tried to search for posts on this but given that's about Quests the search was a little difficult. My understanding of Quests is that they're goals for the player to complete. My question is has any thought been given to Quests that the player creates for adventurers. I keep seeing it mentioned that adventurers cause all these problems for Sovereigns, so why not use some of those adventurers to clean up problems too. "50 gold for anyone who kills the dragon", that
My opinion on this: I totally don't like the idea of the targeting. It's... not natural (though the word "natural" in reference to magic is funny ), I think that caster should come close anough to the target to cast something big, then if the opponent doesn't see it it's all to blame his intilligence. Or maybe you can get some "searching" spell that will track such spellcastings of your enemies (actually the location of a caster). I would be

I like the idea of powerful spells taking a while to cast and everyone knowing where they're targeted. I think Master of Magic had something like this for global affect spells. If someone is trying to cast a volcano spell then it would take maybe 10 turns to complete. During that casting time not only is your Sovereign unable to do anything else, but a nice glowing/pulsing circle appears on the tile the spell is targeting, giving the target time to cast a counterspe

This discussion reminds me of how upset people were of Diablo III's graphics when screenshots were first release. Really the only thing that bothers me is how the characters look. They're too cartoony IMO. But I do appreciate the style Stardock's going for. Besides I expect some industrious folks will take it upon themselves to create different art assets for the game after release. Later, LAR
