I think it's far more important to simulate supply lines than to do road use. Scorched Earth is fine but I'd rather have the developers concentrate in other areas. EDIT: Not that roads have nothing to do with supply lines... but I'd rather have roads be a part of supply lines rather than supply lines be a part of roads.
You know... it's always tempting for me to start a game on the BIGGEST MAP... even when there's no possibility of me ever finishing it. Huh. I guess that's my shtick.
You know? I'm cool with invaders being able to use roads.

You could get some volunteers to help you with voices. My old man has an slight Kiwi accent and would be pretty good... I think he's got the temprament and sense of humor too... other than that I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult, especially if it's just someone shouting "CRITICAL HIT!" or something.
You know what? I'm going to make insane half-breeds. Just sayin'.
Can't wait for the game to be available already...
No.
I'm going to say that I don't think this is a giant conspiracy to make players rebuy games... I'd say by the time most players reach their activation limit the game maybe costs $20. I certainly would never rebuy a game for over $20. I think the real issue is what Frogboy has always been saying: these companies view piracy as lost sales when they never were sales in the first place.
Anyway, there is one problem I see with your Concept A. I think it encourages super-rapid expansion at the start a little too much. From the sounds of it, the only really effective way to play is to expand as far as possible, as quickly as possible. I turtle in pretty much every strategy game I play (real time or turnbased) and look for natural choke points that make it easy to defend my borders (in Elemental, that's usually mountain ranges and things like that). But with your model, I
I remember the Risk LotR game, where the ring sort of ticked down the length of the game... once the ring arrived at Mount Doom the game would end. I can only really imagine such a powerful artifact would require basically its own game mode... we're talking about two teams of players, Forces of Good and Forces of Evil, for the Forces of Good you have to throw the ring back into Mount Doom and when you're evil you have to try and stop it. Otherwise, having the ring able to destroy Saur
Might I add that it would be cool to have transparencies to make interestingly shaped flags.
I've realized that you might find a lot of use in I-Mod Productions: they're a german-based (but English-speaking) modding site that could use some new blood to liven it up. They're dedicated primerily to GC2, but they have a currently empty Elemental section that I think this could fill quite nicely. There are a LOT of people with programming, modelling, and GFX skills looking for stuff to do, as well as some space for hosting and assorted tutorials, guides, and the like. I'm over the
They hinted at it in the GC2 dev journals. I read the GC2 journals every day just for snippets of news about this game for years. Now that there's an actual website, it's pretty awesome.
Anyway, I don't complain that a fighter cannot cast spells like a wizard, or that wizard cannot pick locks like a rogue. I accept their differences and their roles. And I'd not complain that I'm forced to use as diplomat my Sovereign's son with higher Charisma and cannot use the one with very low charisma because that would lead to failure. Neither would I complain if my Heroes were to get old and due to that have lowered stats.
I understand this argument, but I don't u
Sorry if that came off as a little mean, but I just had to do it.
Don't be so condescending. I know how to save money. Just last week, I saved $1.32 from my mall fountain... the week before that I saved two cents on the road, and the other day I save a dropped dollar bill from dropping into a sewer.
I think I am all demigod out and looking for something else. Could you kind souls hint Frogboy tell me more about this game. I have mostly played Age of empires series and supreme commander. Is this something similar that I would enjoy
Hmm... well, I liked Age of Empires, and I'll like Elemental... it might not be what you are used to, but you might think it fun. But yeah, wait a bit.
You will definitely want to wait a bit before
Altough I like the idea of some artificial but simple diferences between men and women (let's face it, they are not the same, both physically and mentally, partially and primarily because of biology and partially because of society, and I'd like the different civilizations have different approachs to this), you are totally right.
While I respect this argument, there's a good reason why fantasy role-playing games have not si
Current plan is: if you attack one part of the city, then you're attackign the ENTIRE city.
Hmm... I hope these sieges aren't just one-off battles... I do like brutal drawn out city combat.
I'll be eager to play against or with any of the developers.
Most fantasy settings take the real world as a basis and then go on from there.
I think what really boils my blood here is that it really has nothing to with *realism*. If it did, TBSGAMER would insist that men have shorter lifespans than women, get a penalty to agility, get decreased disease resistance, make worse watchmen because men have inferior peripheral vision... apparently, only female physical disadvantages count for anything. It has absolutely nothing to do wi
Hmm... your DnD campaign seems pretty dark for my tastes... You know, it wouldn't hurt to inject a little hope... to be fair I am partial to the cold, but to have everything bad and worse would get a little depressing... that's what I'd think, anyway.
The mistake I guess was early on referring to Men and Fallen as "races".
Yeah, "12 factions" would be a lot better for PR, methinks.
