It should definitely not be just a size issue. Being a large nation should have some small diplo penalty. Being a large Normal 0 false false false <w:WrapTe
Iirc, neither MoM or MoO1 had race customization at all ... but I know what you meant, cool Seriously, I can't wait to get the faction customization in. The plan ATM is to give the player X 'customization points' that can be spend on the 3 major parts of your faction: the sovereign's stats, the civilizations stats, and your magical preferences. You can imagine the HUGE range of possibilities with such a system...it's going to be nuts
This continuous turn thing sounds a bit like Final Fantasy, ie you have a limited time slot to issue an order to one unit after another that is carried out after a timer expires. The string of unit icons at the bottom of the screen seems to corroborate this.
That pic is obselete.
Q: Tactical battles, are they real-time? A: They make use of continuous turns. This makes the battles play out much like a real time strategy game but without feeling a rush. The Corporate Machine was one of the early games to make use of continuous turns. Some have said that Sins of a Solar Empire plays like a continuous turn game. The idea is that winning tactical battles h
That second screen really makes me think of the black gates of mordor... Not sure why...
I would think your logic is flawed. I the "powers that be" were the magic wielders, they would be thwarting anything that would jeapordize their power. If technology was threatening to tilt the balance of power away from magic, the magic-wielders would be stunting that particular technology. Regardless, this is a fantasy setting. Introducing gunpowder into a fantasy setting will always be met with resistance.
AI should also have unique personalities. Many hidden modifiers including historical events in their empire should modify the outcome.
Oh come on... We all know we're gonna see mods of gundams vs stempunk vs magic gnomes... It's already been said it won't go in the main game but it can and will be modded in...
Gunpowder was only invented once because once it was invented there was really no point in inventing it again... :P
This sounds like a really cool idea on paper... But I think it would be near impossible to implement this well. And in any case it would only really work with AI players and would be a tad cheesy and gimmiky IMHO...
I also think a Wheel of Time mod would be awesome.
I really like the idea of significant long term instability coming from conquered cities. This would be a potential counter to too quick of a steamrolling as biting off more than you could chew so to speak would have the potential to have devastating results. Troops would be needed for peacekeeping for quite some time.
I think it would be cool to see technology going up against magic. And then when technology advances far enough you could have magitek just like in FF3... :D
I really like these ideas of political and social intrigue. While I think that actually turning the soveregns own family should be nigh impossible I think it would be cool to have other 'neutral' families that you could recruit from if you gain their loyalty. But that they could switch sides eventually.
I really liked the total war style battles. At least in RTW the only one I played. But they did tend to get excessively long and dull eventually. But I think that is a common problem for tactical battles in general. The other big issue is the AI sucking. I think this compounds the first problem because it comes to the point where you're thinking "OMG I'm so tired of fighting this huge stack of enemy armies. The same strategy I used last time will work this time but it took me 30min to
Nothing will be 'impossible to change' as Elemental is designed to be supremely moddable! When the game comes out you can make whatever changes you want. You can have Fallen civilizations running orphanages and 'save the whales' campaigns if you like. ;)
It is possible that he is literally delusional...
True true... Maybe if I am more insistent and obnoxious while having some borderline decent ideas I'll get some pity karma like him... :)
I am however shocked he has more karma than me... [e digicons]>_>[/e]
In some kind of grand cosmic sense I feel sure that this is an absolutely hilarious joke (maybe to the beings of the 5th dimension that he keeps claiming to think in). While my consciousness can just barely feel the impression of how funny it must be, my mortal mind cannot help but be utterly frustrated and confused to the point of extreme irritation.
The same article that mentioned children mentioned that the childeren age and die UNLIKE the sovereign who is immortal.
It was specifically mentioned the the sovereign does NOT die of old age.
You'd think 'raise/lower' and 'change climate' would be all that's necessary; you can't make a river just by dropping a bunch of water unless the terrain is cooperative.
With magic that may not be true. Ungerground aquifers are not that uncommon and a river can be diverted if a better path is made for it.
Point one: I don't think this family/dynasty system changes that you lose if your sovereign dies. I believe this is indicated that your sovereign is immortal (at least immune to old age) in contrast to all of your heirs. Point two: The idea of family relations and how you treat different members of a family affecting the view of that family as a whole. Imagine if you had to make the decision of what to do with an incompetent but high born hero. Who are you going to make govenor of tha
