Sins of a Solar Empire, however, was developed by Ironclad Games and not Stardock - it was a close partnership and Stardock was involved more heavily than a typical publisher is with the developer, and one of the big reasons for the partnership is that Ironclad shares Stardock's ideals - which is probably why people keep confusing them a bit :) Not a knock on Stardock, just giving Ironclad credit where it's due, it's a bit sad to see it rarely mentioned when people talk about Sins. :P

But of course :P
And pls confirm, the beta registration WILL work again next week for the release ??!!
Yes, it will.
- Is the world static or can it renew itself in the same game ? (i mean does the quests reappear after sometime or are replaced by others, does the creatures or items respawns...) In order to always have something to do on the map. (not clear the map of treasures and monsters and then there is nothing more to explore because there isn't anything anymore left.)
I'm not sure on the final implementation of quests since the ones we had in beta were placeholder, but monsters

I genuinely thought Stardock was different. Turns out I was wrong. Would that I could get my money back. I now see what the pre-order-and-get-beta scheme is all about. <br

As is usually the best recommendation for these kinds of questions - wait for the demo. The demo will run off finished code, and since they release it after launch it might even contain some patch optimizations (since the demo build would be based off the current latest game build).
From my understanding, the single player campaign will function as a tutorial of sorts, though it won't be in your basic tutorial format of a voice over telling you exactly what to click on. It should introduce the relevant concepts and controls, though. Otherwise, it's not actually that easy to say. The beta was pretty unfinished, including unpolished and confusing UI in many places which obviously makes things harder. To be honest, in your position I would wait for a de

But then when someone else wants to play on that system, they have to have their own serial key attached to their account. I like how Frogboy never actually said "This game has LAN Support", and everyone is jumping on him as if he did. He just gave instructions on how to install the game easily on your networked machines so people could come over and play. Reading comprehension isn't that difficult, people.
Typos in chapter tiles make me :(. "Noblemans" should be "Nobleman's". :P Other grammatical errors, too - the first speech ends in a period, followed right away by a comma (?). Same error in the last speech where Relias is thinking, the first part of the thought should end in a comma, not a period. Someone should proofread this stuff for day0 :P
Are you sure the updates will require Impulse? Many game manufacturers (e.g., Bethesda and the people who make Dominions) allow direct downloads of patches.
Yes, updating will require Impulse and there will not be any standalone/direct download of patches.
Grats on going gold!
No, they're not going to make a patch, but that's not how updating works. Impulse just updates by comparing your installed files to their files, and downloads everything that's different or missing. That's why you can update from betas to the final release.
Or you could just find some other reason to ask for their email so they don't suspect anything :P
BioShock is far from a "landmark" game. It just got so much attention because it tried being a story-driven modern FPS instead of a plain shooter - and it did that mostly by just having you look around for old recordings. The gameplay remained a plain and generic shooter. Like I said, generic shooter in a pretty wrapper. It just stood out because none of the other games tried to focus on the atmosphere or story.
Not terribly excited about this game. BioShock had an intriguing atmosphere, but there was no good game behind it. It was a generic shooter in a pretty wrapper. The plasmids were a nice touch, but the novelty wore off quickly :P The only "thoughtful" FPS I'm looking forward to at the moment is Deus Ex: Human Revolution. If it captures the feel of the original, it'll blow everything out of the water :P
No, beta access has been closed for a while. If you preorder now, you'll have to wait until the 24th to get access. It's for the best, beta 4 is still pretty incomplete.
The new UI looks a lot better, but I still think the Empire Tree could *really* use names :x Other than that, at a glance of the screenshot I'm very happy with the Strategic UI changes. The Empire tree including a lot more info (city upgrades, etc) is awesome. Great changes in a short time frame!
Unless the store just filters for billing address, which will be in Germany.
