Fire Elementalists yeah, but Water has a good deal of Hexes, and a lot of Lightning has Exhaustion and armor penetration, and Earth has some buffs. Overall Elementalist is closest to the "basic" caster, but it still has a lot of interesting mechanics.

Necromancer is another Guild Wars class with a pretty awesome magic system. Elementalist is a little more straight forward, but also fun. Ritualist too.. basically every magic class in the game is unique. :P

Whether or not there's a pre-load probably depends on when they get the day0 build ready. If there is one, it'll unlock for everyone whenever they push the button on the 24th. It's not going to be based on region.
People are always sensitive about different things, and it's humanly impossible to do anything while insuring that no-one, anywhere, is offended. My father thinks Apocalypse Now was offensive because of what he went through in Vietnam. Should he reserve the right to write a letter to Netflix and ask them to stop carrying the movie because he, personally, thinks it's sickening?
The thing that's different about this game is that there's no real reasoning behind it. Notic
I wanted to discuss game mechanics, and the interplay between the different elements of the game. I wanted to discuss pacing. I wanted to discuss the discovery process. I guess I thought that the community could have been far more useful in regard to the game's design.
The thing is, though, we did do all that. The difference is there wasn't a "phase" where it was like: "Okay, let's everyone talk about gameplay". It just kept evolving as time went on and they picked up

I think that means that most of us are more realistic. There's some wiggle room between mediocre and better than average more or less based on personal interpretations of that that means in context of features (for some, tactical combat is more important, others want crafted items, others want more stuff with seas). But it basically says that people don't expect a completely new game from beta 4 since the features are set, and are just going to get polished and refined - but at the same time
It could even be something crazy like the little known team mode in Starcraft 1 where you actually both controlled the same base/units (that was actually pretty fun, though rarely used).
Actually exists in SC2 as well, players can give control of units to their teammates, I've seen it in replays/casts of team games where one guy gets his base wiped out, and other players give him their units to micro so they can focus on other things. Handy feature :)
.....and then we're back to square-one. Namely "business", and I stated above.....I believe business is business and morality (ie. good vs bad) has no part in business even if the product of said business in fact does depict "good vs bad" scenarios. I get what you're saying, I just don't think "morality" as such can/should be applied to business. If we did, I'm afraid we'd find reasons to shut the doors on most i

.. Then also buy a copy for each of your co-workers ;) Why stop at one friend! Afterwards, you can buy 50 or so copies, and stand around on a street corner handing them out.
Sure, but aren't you then arguing a relative (ie. "good guy" or "bad guy") point? Morality in all of its iterations is subjective and therefore relative to each individuals perspective.
It is relative if you exclude all other considerations, but not if you take it in context of the game. The game is marketed to us, and not extremist militant groups, and thus the vast majority of the target audience sees the Coalition as the "good guys". It can't really be a relative poi
I'm not disagreeing with you Anny I'm just pointing out that I'm about as anti-PC (political correctness) as one can get....of course one could argue that me taking offense at all the PC-crap floating around these days is intolerant as well!
In general I'm not a fan of political correctness, but there's also a difference between "PC" and "Things you shouldn't morally do". Political correctness is when you get told that "We're re-evaluating our long term goals and approa

That's correct, and it has been mentioned in another thread about the book (check out the News section, Island Dog's post with the book title in the topic).
...whenever I hear things like "that's in bad taste"....or "what were they thinking?"...or "that shouldn't be allowed".....etc. etc....
It's pretty easy to tell what they were thinking though. If it *wasn't* named Taliban nobody would care and nobody would talk about it. But they named it such, and now there are articles popping up talking about the game. Lots more media exposure for no advertising dollars spent. Sure they might "offend" some people, but let's face it,

While it really doesn't matter, you pretty much know they're specifically doing it to expose the game. Lots of games pit you against US troops in Multiplayer (hi, Counterstrike!), but it's just as easy to call it OpFor or similar, which is how most games do it. Naming it Taliban specifically is nothing more than a viral publicity stunt, and it's obviously working.

The turns in Elemental are simultaneous. All the players do their stuff in the same turn. Once every player hits End Turn, the next one starts.
