-I wonder if it's a bug, but quite a few of my summoned units have 2-3 mana. Which isn't bad in itself, but they can cast spells from my spell list! However, with their low intelligence, well, it's not really worth it. The bear being able to cast a fireball is a bit weird. I'm not against the concept for a druid-like character... but should every 1st level animal companion be able to cast spells? The imp being able to cast a fireball isn't such a bad idea: it strikes me as the type of

The "pacing" setting at game creation has a very large impact on game length. It's quite likely the OP left the setting alone, but if you set it to Epic you will end up with longer games.
Wargs are exclusive to the Fallen races, so yes, you can only use horses and they can only use Wargs. That said, unless they changed it from Beta, if you capture a Fallen city that had a Warg resource harvested, it should produce them for you ;) As for memory issues, Elemental can only use up to 2gb since it's a 32-bit process. You could try googling for a "3gb enabler", which is commonly used for some 32-bit executables for games that are memory heavy. These don't modify the
I believe 1024x768 is the lowest resolution Elemental can support, which is likely why it's ignoring your request for 800x600.
Just wanted to post a thanks to the OP (and others who have posted their honest feedback and views), saved me paying for another beta game and end up waiting on patches etc Been burned to many times by paying to beta test - let the rabid fanboys do that, they seem to love it anwyay. Will check back in a few weeks and see if anything improves. Cheers
There's nothing wrong with this point of view ;) Some peop
Also, there is no way to load game in the middle of combat or even exit it fast. That's annoying.
On the left hand side of the UI bar on the bottom (in place of the Kingdom Report button on the strategic map) is the quick auto-resolve. It is odd that you can't open the main menu while in battle, but you can use that to end it quickly and then load.
Possibly, if you can get shards. You don't need anything fancy to get weapons, Iron is much more common than shards (and after you research them you can just buy the weapons from shop for your heroes without needing any iron), while you have to try and capture the shards which may or may not be nearby. They do increase spell damage by 100% per shard, but I'd much rather have better scaling damage to start with (like base spell damage roll + int modifier) and a smaller bonus on the
I think there's way too much stuff to show. It would be a lot easier for me at least to just answer questions you have about how some stuff works, rather than trying to explain everything.
I completely disagree. Once you play more I think you will start to disagree as well. The problems with spells are: 1) Int scales spell damage linearly, Str scales damage by a percentage (meaning with a 20-damage weapon 1 point of STR will give you a bigger bonus than with a 10-damage weapon). 2) You get new weapons that drastically increase in power. 3) Spell damage rolls against armor. You'll start coming up against units with 30+ defense easily (I have in the campai
Do you have an exact quest name and level for this? I didn't get to play much at all since it released late last night and I'm at work, but I did pack up the quest XMLs to look through at work, so I can see what's wrong with it if you have the quest name and level.
* I hope I missed something here now, because if not, this is utterly bloody poor form: Since you've gone to great lenghts to try to make turns "invisible" how the hell do you see when it is time to move a unit? I still cannot find a button that automatically takes me to the next unit with available moves, and I still cannot find a button that automatically completes the units previous orders. This is bloody TBS 101!
While there's no button to take you to the next activ
Quoting Annatar11, reply 11 Stardock did a good job getting the game basics in good shape. Now they just need to work on the polish Most of the game's issues are with polish (which includes balance). I generally prefer it when such polish is done *before* the release of a game, especially since it is likely to affect reviewers, and a good review score can be of great benefit to "smaller" games.
- Summoning. When I try to cast "Summon familiar" nothing happens. I have the correct amount mana - am I doing something wrong?
When you select a summoning spell, you need to cast it on a tile (your mouse should change to a casting cursor and when you mouse over tiles they should highlight green if the spell is castable on that tile. Are you loading it by going into the Campaign menu and going from there? I had a similar thing with an auto-save I was sure was made in the campaign, but loading it from the "Load" screen in the main menu was all sorts of funky. Doing it from the Campaign menu worked.
You can try your luck with . However, it's a well known fact that games change during development. When you preorder you willingly give your money for an unfinished product that might look different in the future. Nobody's twisting your arm to do so, and certainly nobody signed a contract with you promising you certain features. Yes, some changes to the game are a little disappointing, but maybe next time you should wait for th

I think Fireball should be first on your list :P A 2d "campire" effect duplicated in a line to target is.. :/ I'm not much of an artist to help, but would like to wish you luck on the project :)
The Fireball particle effect behaves funky. It usually shows over long distances, but after you and the target are only a few tiles away, the effect stops drawing.
But will your Sovereign hold their spouse like by the lake on Naboo?
Mind you, if I go with the physical box and CD option, I could install on a friends computer maybe and save the up-dates from his?
Not quite, no. The way Impulse updates is by comparing your installed game files with their up-to-date files on the distribution network. If there's a difference, Impulse just downloads and over-writes the necessary files directly. In theory, this does mean that you could install at your friend's house, update it by logging in w
Oh this is nothing. We've had a much worse one recently :P That one is your fault too, by the way. Thanks a lot. Jerk.
But really...not charging until the game is available? What possible reason could there be for that?
First, it's shifty charging for something without providing it on the spot (even Gamestop doesn't have you put down full price for in-store preorders, just $5 or something to "reserve" a copy). Second, not charging for a preorder allows people to change their minds and cancel without any hassle.
It releases on the 24th. To those who already have beta access from earlier preorders (beta access has been closed for a while now) an earlier release will happen either Sunday night or Monday morning. I don't know if new preorders will be processed for the early release, though I assume not. But at best, if you preorder now you'll get it Sunday night or Monday. At worst, you'll get it Tuesday.
Updating the game would be more difficult, since Impulse doesn't provide standalone patch downloads. There is a service ( http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com ) that allows you to download fully patched game archives that can be installed Offline (but still need you to have Impulse installed), but it would require you to re-download the entire game from somewhere with internet access. As Twohawks stated, though, the DVD version will not need
The cool thing is it's in Amazon's best interest to make sure nothing fishy goes on in the Marketplace. They definitely don't want to get stuck with the image of it being a place people go to get scammed.
