Right now, I'm thinking of going with the first option. Each main character (or group of characters) gets his own campaign. Frodo and Sam would go together, Merry and Pippin (until Isengard falls), Gimli, Legolas, and Aragorn. The "main" campaign will follow Frodo and Sam, and additional characters will join their party as you get to the necissary points of the game. When you get to Crickhollow, Merry and Pippin join, get to Bree and Aragorn joins, at Rivendell everyone else joins

It should just be clicking the Load button by the world name when creating the game, and picking your map. That doesn't work for you?

Kyogre, have you given any thought to the format of the campaign? Meaning, do you want it in the same style as Elemental's Book 1 where you basically play one hero (Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn, whatever) and play the story from their perspective, or where you're more detached and participating in all of the story's events? For example, if you're just playing Frodo you'd have an extended Shire and Bree section, you'd miss Helm's Deep, assault on Minas Tirith, but you'd experience inside Mo

Keep in mind that Elemental's UI is basically made from SD's desktop customization tools (DesktopX specifically, I think?). As such, the limitations on the UI are similar to what you'd find there. Meaning, you can do reskins, different looks or organization, but there's no support for something like right-click context menus.

It is possible for a quest to load a specific tactical battle map. It wouldn't be a true dungeon crawl (at least for now) since the AI just charges you, and there may be a limitation on the size of the tactical maps as well as difficulty finding good cave-y or dungeon-y tile sets, though I imagine some more artistic modders can create them. The other limitation is that creatures don't really "drop" stuff. Loot just gets assigned as part of doing the quest. For example, you can make the q

ToEE is a fun game with the CoE updates, but it starts so godawfully slow. Once you get inside the temple it's awesome, but around the village, ugh. :P
If I was to be out of a job, I sure would 100% rather it be to poor projections/planning/earnings then because the company thought I should be fired because it was my fault.
However, it was none of those things. Stardock and Frogboy have earned a lot respect from me over the several years I've been around. However, I have a hard time feeling sympathy for his situation. He has already posted several times taking the responsibility for Elemental's launch. But, whi
It should also be emphasized that no one was fired. I've had to let go many people over the years and as anyone who has ever been in that position can tell you, there is a world of difference between terminating someone and laying them off.
With all due respect, Frogboy, this is a bad time to try and use flowery language. Sadly, there is not a "world of difference" - the bottom line is those people are out of a job. The only difference is that "terminating" is done beca

You may want to contact [email protected] to see what's up with your downloads. However, since they won't get back to you over the weekend, you can download a premade 1.07 archive from http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com so you can play the latest version over the weekend.

Seems pretty reasonable to me. Your title is an outright lie, since the person repeatedly said you can get 75% refund if your only issue is that MP is delayed. And if you have technical issues, you can get 100%. But since you don't..

Keep in mind the written directions in game are based on a normally positioned map with North on top and South on bottom. Elemental's camera is off to the side, so when it says East, you actually need to go south >.> Go back a bit towards your city, then start moving south. You should see a wall type thing, which you will now be able to cross.

Yeah, it's not just you. As far as I know, SD's aware of it and it should hopefully get fixed soon. Rather than wiggling the camera around, you can select by clicking on the portraits on the left and right edges of the screen, as long as you know what's what.

At the moment, you can't retrofit existing units. If you disband them you get the population back (nearest city), but no resources back.

I don't believe USPS Priority *has* tracking for their shipments. There's an added extra service for delivery confirmation, but they don't track shipments en-route. There's no tracking number to give you, they can just confirm that it was shipped.

I think you're one digit ahead there :P Last night's patch is 1.07, and it loads 1.06 saves fine. You probably won't see all of the changes until you start a new game, though.

I think your best bet is to get on Stardock's IRC and ask for someone higher up, make sure to mention you already talked to sales but need to talk to someone else. As for how to deal with them, my advice, especially as someone who gets to chat with a lot of them here and there (Yay, IRC), is don't get very combative. Your post makes no indication that you would, but still that's my advice. A lot of these guys (and ladies) have been saying up lots of late nights lately and are pretty tired. Ju

Which means you shouldn't delete the folder if you have any custom sovereigns or unit designs. :P Honestly, it doesn't matter what folder you throw the mods in. When the game starts, it reads all of them and it doesn't care where they are. You can stick all the mods into Quests and it wouldn't care :P

I have been seeing the pauses between turns in 1.06 after a couple hundred turns on a Large map with 4 Ridiculous AI. The game actually stopped responding so if you clicked inside the window it'd pop up the Windows "This program stopped responding" error, but would go away after a few seconds when the game woke up. I haven't gotten to that stage in 1.07, though I did send Boogie the old 1.06 save and mentioned that was happening.
