#1 City Improvements We can have improvements that require adjacency. That is, we can have a farm and require a second improvement be adjacent to a farm tile. Maybe there should be an improvement that you can put next to a farm (or garden) that magnifies the output of the farm. You should be able to put as many as you want so long as they are adjacent to the farm tile. Same for Metal resources. Same for Crystal Resources.<
Weather in tactical battles could just reflect the climate on the strategic map, something like in Dom3. Ex: if you send yetis fighting into a desert, they should have some disadvantage. In Dom3, I think it gives more fatigue (or perhaps less morale; not sure).
Stay cool, folks, watch some football! Tonight, we are all Urugayans!!!! [e digicons]}:)[/e]
Frogboy, that should serve as a lesson: NEVER again mention elves or dwarves or orcs or whatever similar in one of your journals! [e digicons]}:)[/e]
Coming back to the original post, I’d say that the closest diplomacy system (and probably the best for me. I don’t play many games) is the one in Europa Universalis 1 and 2. It has all 3 components: - Relation level: relations levels with every other state are determined neither randomly nor they change based on rather badly understood events, they are based on who you are, what you do and your
Sometimes, Frogboy's posts look like fishing baits or like 'preaching the false to know the truth'...unless they are just plain nonsense. (No disrespect, just a constatation. [e digicons] I didn't read all posts but I'd like to state something obvious: why instate Morale to make formations and units retreat...when at the same time you don't want retreat possible in the game? Either there is morale as in Dom3 and armies re

Next thing, you'll come and say we should remove women in the game because these same 'populations
Or perhaps not planes but I'd like underwater cities and regions. It could be like Dominions: not a parallel plane but regions only those with amphibious capabilities could enter or leave (and aquatic units should be restricted to). That would add a little plus strategically (I like the spell which freezes the sea and prevents any surface crossing). But, otherwise, YES, I'd like underground regions and cities too.
Eliminate the race distinctions and instead build out the Factions with more lore and artwork. Current customization of factions would remain. + More emphasis on making the game lore with the 10 factions.
That would be my choice. However, why should you eliminate the race distinctions? On the other thread, you were afraid it would be too complicated for casual gamers. But people understand that a Japanese
Double-post. Forum behaving strangely.
I guess: - The AI can be better balanced to take advantage of a known set of weaknesses and strengths. - The Flavour of the enemies we fight requires detail and attention to what each "race" is. - We'd like to have the option to play games where everyone is playing a predesigned race, since balancing all the abilities AND soverigns will be a nightmare. - A lot of us love lore. We want to find out about the w
I don't remember who it was but in September on the chat I asked him what would be a good fantasy game while waiting for the Elemental Beta. He pointed me to King's Bounty - The Legend. I bought it minutes later and it was a lot of fun! I liked the different musics in the different zones, the multi-quests and the original combat system. I'll probably buy Armoured Princess soon. I was just waiting for good reviews to see whether there were still b
For me who lost an entire decade of gaming (spent the 90s in the military. Neither time nor opportunity for that), X-Com was some legend. Last year, I finally bought it on Gamersgate and have it now. It works fine on Vista. Now, I shall be viewed as an heretic but, despite the fine gameplay, I can't seem to play it. I only did a few years and a few missions. That's it: 90's UI and graphics repel me...[e digicons]:'([/e] So I bought some newest clones: The U
No doubt all the testers want the game to go into multiplayer...
No. I can't care less about multiplayer, probably will never play MP with Elemental. I wonder how many % of testers feel the same.
Another one. No caravan, only one city and the Sovereign was one tile from destination. Debug: http://pastebin.com/kkp5xb4E
I always wonder whether things are a bug or not but, well, here is one more strange thing. My city has a watchtower. It 'worked' perfectly but suddenly, whoops!, the line of sight shrinks. Is there a simple explanation or it is a plain bug? The debug: http://paste
Same here, failed to load the last autosave after exiting the game following freeze. Debug if needed: http://pastebin.com/fW3QZ2Tw
Same thing here: hitting end-turn button left it greyed and froze the game. Version [3.0], turn 48, only notable thing that would have happened would have been completion of my first hut. (None of my units were moving). Here is the debug: http://pastebin.com/i9Z2G1Pq
Right, thanks! One needs to click and make its surrounding go green, then it shows. PS: not bad UI but just...the need for a good tutorial! [e digicons];)[/e]
Here is the Debug: http://pastebin.com/r5vu807C
At least, it seems strange. Look at those captures: every time that gold is added in the pool, it means I have pushed the end-turn button. But: 1) every other time, the turn counter doesn't show. 2) sometimes the Sovereign doesn't move and sometimes it moves 2x as much! (The Sovereign here moves normally 2 tiles/turn. The last 2 captures are taken without me hitting end-turn button, as indicated by the gold pool, meaning I watch him mo
Re: Tutorial. A few things. 1) There can be a tutorial AND advisors. One doesn't exclude the other, they haven't the same goal and won't be used at the same time: - advisors are in-game features (whetever they will be. Cool ideas on this thread [e digicons][/e] ) - tutorial is a stand alone scenario. Usually, in many games, you find it in the main menu and so should it in Elemental: just place a button "Tutorial" between "New game" and "Load game" and
I may know nothing about coding or selling games but as a customer and a player I can say that nothing beats a good tutorial and its absence is always felt.
