I've never spent serious time playing a game with multiple mana types, but I liked the idea for Elemental because it sounded like a good way to increase replayability for folks (like me) who tend to stick to one play style but still want new games to play out quite differently than past ones. What is Diplomatic Capital concept for? Not much currently. What could it be for? A lot! From Frogboy's own words:
I think there’s a lot we can do with this concept as we go forward. It definitely gives diplomacy some teeth, especially when we get into getting various players to declare war on each other.
and many of us gave detailed descriptions for it as a vital component of the game. Again, here is the official thread about

I am just fed up. Not against Derek, he just arrived. Against the whole thing: official threads for nothing, marketing ideas to drink the Kool Aid, asking for things that could be found by the hundreds just reading Dom3's or AoW2's paper manual, the sensation that 'they' just don't know what 'they' do, that 'they' just never knew what'they' were doing... Yeah, I could choose one cool spell and do the contest. I won't. I already have a graphics card and the only game I
Dear derek I am sure that you will find here (see link: an official thread!) everything you are looking for. No need for contests when you've got at your disposal such a mine of ideas/suggestions/lists/mechanisms as this forum. It's becoming tiring to see Stardock wanting to look cool by asking time and again the same things. STOP ASKING! You've got all the cards in your hands; now create the game or throw the towel, the customers won't do your job! [e digicons]XO[/e]
To Frogboy: I would have LOVED to beat the dead horse HARD but I shall finally restrain and hope that Derek can adress the many flaws of the game. However I have some underlying question. Since "the engine" seems to be the perfect mute scapegoat for all missing/incomplete features, how shall the future be different? Is it improving fast in capability? Because otherwise it's no use to ask people once again for input/ideas/suggestions. (and honestly, if the engine can't allow fe
I can't see any relationship between the world being barren and the number of resources. Antarctica and most deserts on Earth are barren but are full of mineral and energy resources (and even archeological. Good for Old Libraries and such). A "barren world" for our game should be more in relation with human population, vegetal density and even some 'cursed land' (places like Mordor or the fetid swamps full of corpses in the LotR movies).
IMO, you don't "deal with it" by nerfing the stack of doom (in whatever way) but by making the AI create it's own "stack of doom" & use it against the human player' "stack of doom". This is much more interesting to me, also, I might add.
As anyone who has spent time in the military can tell you, one well trained, well armed man is the equal of many many unarmed, untrained men. So the scale of men in battle is significant. ...
