No shapeshift though, can't think how to implement it.
I'm not a modder, but could you make a spell that spawned a unit which when taking damage applies the damage to the caster as well? The spell would also need to incapacitate the caster and make him invulnerable to damage (with a cool effect to make it clear that he's become ethereal). Sure you get two units on the gameboard, but the effect on the battle

I can't help but note all the people lamenting these lost great features don't like it when you point out what those features actually were . Encumbrance Dynasties Weapon-type-based damage (FE) Recruitable heroes just hanging out on the map Dozens of mostly useless buildings so that you would just end up building one in every city Individual mana pools High level monsters that would appear out of nowhere and destroy your
It's like talking to a wall. Stardock's vision for this whole series is a strategy game with RPG elements. There's no ambiguity there. Frogboy has put that right on the table in this thread . You may want this game to be X, but the people who are making this game do not want to do that. I know you think you're offering constructive criticism, but what you're doing is straight-up whining. The hilarious thing is to read p
how about making this an option on the battle preview screen? you could also see the formation your opponent is using. as an aside, have I mentioned how much a loathe the battle preview screen? it's like they went out of their way to design the least informative, most confusing and often misleading dialog. I wish there was more useful information on there. But Stardock thinks it's far more important to show portraits of bears and anonymous spearmen.</
But imagine if those numbers could be double or triple what they are now?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that mods, like MP, only boost sales on the margins (that is, anecdotally). Most people who buy FE/LH will play the content that Stardock provides and nothing else . And it's not like the vanilla game doesn't already provide a ton of replayability.
yup. it's always been that way. sucks. I don't think they're ever going to fix it.
It's really bad when the rabid fan boys label any contrary opinion as entitlement. It's an attempt at silencing differing opinions through shaming/mocking. Kind of like political correctness.
But it's not bad when you label people who disagree as "rabid fan boys"? Come on, man. Get it together.
Eh, it's fine. They wanted to push FE/LH out to a wider audience, that means a broader range of loons on the forums. tldr; this is not the game kwm1800 would have designed. But my favorite part of this is the way he did the numbering so that it starts in ascending order and ends in descending order. [e digicons]:moo:[/e]
I had this in earlier version too (and I think I also reported this Link under 7.), but I was thrown into the pit with the endboss. That ment the end of the game since i could easily dispatch of him. Edit: Maybe "Throw-outs" should not place you in owned territory..
The answer to this is to get rid of the option altogether. If you want someone out of your territory, go and kill them.
Threads like these are what inevitably happens when you open the floor to the entire internet. You get some good ideas, some bad ideas, and a lot of ideas that have nothing to with anything. Most of it is garbage. Even the best of the good ideas are probably not going to be useful or take you in the direction you want to go. And, inevitably, you get people who are sure, absolutely 100% sure, that they could design a better game in their sleep and implement it over a
IMHO, the biggest issue is the maps where your units are scattered. If I am attacking, why are my units spread all over the place?
It must be one of those laws of internet forums that anyone decrying a strawman argument is bound to use a strawman argument. [e digicons][/e] What I am doing might be called an ad hominum argument. I am not debating the relative merits of darkehound's claim, I am making a direct attack on him personally. Except I am not arguing anything. I am making fun of him. For being a whiny crybaby.
You are pulling a strawman here.
Do you know what a strawman is? I'm not saying the OP doesn't get to be disappointed in the game for whatever reason he wants. I am saying that his GBCW post is immature and worthy of scorn. Doubly so because it's totally premature, since the game hasn't been released. His only complaint has something to do with leveling champ
Well kiss my gritz. I am still a little skeptical that the timing is going to work. The traditional thursday night release gives them three business days to address bugs, do QA, and kick the thing out the door for the 22nd. Quite the high-wire act.
A plague is a terrible terrible thing. But that's not what it said... it clearly said, "To Blaaaave" and as we all to blave know means "To Bluff".
Yves, you are already on record in this thread saying you liked the way heroes were in FE. FE had the exact same XP splitting mechanism. You are wrong. QED.
word. Considering the release is scheduled in two weeks I am doubtful that we'll see another beta at this point. There isn't time to prepare the release, perform the release, collect feedback, make the required changes, and properly test the new program. Swami says the next release notes you read will be for the May 22 release.
I just want heroes as they were in FE. Heroes. And upgraded troops as they are in LH. That's fine. Did you ever complain in FE that heroes were overpowered and needed to be scaled back ? No. So you've been changing your mind. I have not. Just give me back what we had before. There is no fairy involved... But there has been a bad witch working over LH... Yves
The XP split was the same in FE, was
I just want you to give the game a chance.
They're two weeks from release, SBM.
Exactly. The game hasn't been released. He's playing a beta. People understand what that word means, right? His complaint, the reason he's NEVER PLAYING THIS GAME HE SPENT 100 DOLLARS!?!@?!?@11 ON EVAR AGIN is literally "A legendary hero is not level 8" Is that seriously why he's going to give up on a game that's not even out of beta</
The problem is not there. The problem is that heroes don't have the feel of heroes nowadays.
What does that have to do with XP splitting? Your issue is that heroes level too slowly and you find the level choices underwhelming. I'm not sure why you fixate on XP splitting. Why not complain about the lack of a magic XP fairy that grants XP to all your champs every turn? [quote who="moi-meme" reply=
Quoting Azunai_, reply 154 if you don't want to use heroes, that's your choice. Actually, no, it isn't my choice. I don't play games to butt my head into a wall. The way all the math works out, you are always better running a single hero and troops. The single hero and troops will out level and significantly out perform a dual hero set with troops. You aren't even arguing that point. What you a
Slow your roll. You can't seriously be GBCW now. The game's not out of beta yet. P. S. If you write stardock they will give you a refund.
