I have dual monitors as well. I like that the mouse can escape to my other desktop without alt-tabbing. I left-click and drag to scroll around the mouse. So for me, it's a feature. But it should be an option.

Yup
Will the AI understand how to do this? Very good idea! [e digicons]k1[/e] I don't suppose there's any way to mod in a global notification when a faction starts building the precursor?

It's so easy to fix. Get rid of the Explore button
Actually, I think the monsters probably hurt the reception of Fallen Enchantress. For a new player, the danger of the monsters destroying cities is very real and makes those players feel powerless to do anything about it. This is lost on us that know the game and understand it better, but the roaming powerful monsters can feel random and undefeatable, which provokes the worst thing a strategy game can have, a feeling of unfairne
"Shield bash" should probably "Bash". So the unit is pushed back a tile and knocked down. Edit: to make it cooler, it should do the above and then give the defender another turn immediately. (Give shield bash a cooldown so you can't spam it.)
wasn't there a cloud of death in WoM at some point?
couldif could you post more info? What then are you doing this? How large a map? How many players?
there have been a few threads on the issue with Charge being OP (search for "Charge"). If you have 3+ units of horse with spears and charge (and high accuracy for surety), you can pretty much wipe out your opponent's front line in the first turn before they have a chance to respond. The spears make them immune to
Ugh, I tried to find it. But it's buried pages down in some pre-FE-release thread. I remember it because I was on that thread saying "The monsters treat everyone the same" and then Frogboy came on and said, "On higher difficulties the monsters do not attack the AI." Which I was like "Huh"? Edit, again, no... that wasn't it. That was the post where Frogboy had convinced me that the monsters treat everyone the same.
good stuff! though I think you might be in serious trouble if you are down to two settlements.
Are you sure that is how the AI cheats work? I don't think the difficulty level toggles whether or not the monsters attack the AI players. It's insanely stupidly easy to fix this problem and a host of other UI issues: The player should be able to close the level up dialog without picking a trait. Come back later and pick the trait you want. Same with city level ups. Same with picking champions. There's absolutely no reason to do these dialogs the way Stardock insists on doing it. It feels like I have been saying this forever, and I know it's never going to happen. Stardock is in
The elephant in the room is that you don't mention the difficulty level your friend was playing on. I am sure your friend is uber awesome at 4x. But if your or your friend don't want the AI to cheat, then don't pick the options that allow the AI to cheat. (One of the cheats the AI uses at higher difficulty levels is that monsters will never attack AI units.) Start a new game on a Large map with 6-7 opponents. Set the world difficulty to Normal or
I thought this was how it was supposed to work. I'm OK with it frankly. I had a funny bug in 0.50 where my champion "Bacco the Beggar" died while attacking a city, the remainder of the stack (non champions) managed to win the battle and I took the city. But my wounded champion ended up listed in both the city I took and the nearest city. When I reloaded the save I made to show the problem though, I only had one Bacco, and then 0.75 was released, so I never report
Number one can be turned off in the options. It's auto-select next unit or whatever.
That's what I thought, but no. Even with that option turned off, the camera still moves at the start of the turn to focus on the currently selected unit.
I never understand these "please remove one of the essential elements of the game" posts.
In one of the videos Frogboy talked about this. It was set so that you couldnt' see the nitty gritty details purposefully. If I remember right the thought was that this way emphasizes picking heroes based on their "flavor" rather than min/max.
That's frustrating. Quick lesson. You don't stop people from min-maxing by hiding details from them when they're making decisions.&nb
Meh. People have been asking for this since WoM. If they're going to change it (which they're not) they should just do away with the "leave my lands" mechanism altogether. Like auto-explore, it's a hold-over from other TBS and a completely worthless appendage. It's annoying to do it to the AI and annoying to have it done to you. It doesn't make sense the way units are warped distances that should take them multiple turns to travel. And i
Right now, I seriously doubt they'll ever do a standalone release of this game. There's absolutely zero upside for Stardock. Steam just works. Based on my own experience and reading posts here, the beta (including Steam distribution) has so far gone incredibly smoothly. Nobody who is playing the game is complaining about Steam. Not to dismiss the concerns of those (like <a id="ctl00_ctl00__Content__Content__RepeaterReplies_ctl01__LinkUser" class="hand"
If we could just get a strategic spell hotbar, all of this would be alleviated.
why not both? you can pick a spell off the hotbar or out of the spellbook. click on a stack and Control+Click on each unit you want to cast. Finally, left click to cast the spell.
"Fuck you, assholes! Why aren't you more friendly?" I would add, that right now 99% of the user-generated posts are about LH. SO I guess it's not just Stardock that's giving you the middle finger; we've all pretty much moved on to the beta. So maybe Stardock is focusing their attention there because that is where their users are focused.
Yeah, I have noticed in my games that battles against stronger mobs tend to give very disappointing amounts of experience. If the game is really reducing experience gain based on the strength of the army, all I can say is that that is a totally stupid idea. Right now, the feedback loop on experience is completely broken. There's just too many things that muddy the water. First, there's no way to know, going into a battle or quest how much experience you stand
