I honestly think this will change. If GC2 is anything to reference you get a little Sass from the AI on a regular basis. Even teasing you that if it was on a harder difficulty it would woop your ass for sitting ships on its border. Do like the idea of evil children though :)

Honestly I hate the term trolls. I do agree that they should just hard mod the forum though. If people lay off Froggy im sure once everyone has had a few day breather from yellin at each other things will go back to normal.
"The reply that you tried to make got all jumbled on the way to our server. Please wait a moment and try again." I was writing up a big post with bullet points on why i think the current combat system just needs tweaks, and how a better AI would smooth out a lot of issues. But the forum ate it. :) Better AI = More reactive in battles which means you will need to think out more things ahead of time. Rebalance of Weapons = Should hel
Quests and Ruins should be about grand glory and loot. Metals and materials are all good but not quite Quest worthy.
If you do not have enough money alot of times they wont speak to you. Probably should switch this to a screen that simply informs you ya cant make it worth for them to join up yet.
Very cool idea. Will write up some ideas and post them up tomorrow :) its getting late.
Some of the ideas are from Warlords 2, great game. Good content. Most of the quests now are very simple, it wouldnt take much to fancy them up a tad and really add depth just with those alone.
Im actually writing up a Part 2 which discusses specifically how heros should change slightly. Including active healing and protective spells which i think would add a whole new dimension to the tactical combat. Think if you could heal, or better yet shield specific units from say archers. Part 3 is going to be about adding depth to the monsters such as having them drop items and such. Even if there is just a blurb that you have new items you picked up from a previous battle, che
A Few things that need some adjustment. My thoughts, borrowed from other games and other lives. Temples and Ruins: What I'm trying to accomplish: Give Ruins a bit more depth and RPG feel. Choose your own adventure, if you will. Quests: A strategic and almost balancing way to also increase the game. A lot of people have been mentioning how does a small kingdom with limited resources hold up to a large one? Easy: Quest your butt off. Get those magic items, allies, and extras
A short message to the community and Stardock I am going to be posting a series of point by point ideas and thoughts on future and current content and mechanics. These will all be posted in the idea forum. Hopefully it will allow us to have a meaningful dialogue on a game that based on all the emotions on both sides we are very passionate about. Community: For those of you who are unhappy with the game, Stardock has a very fair return policy. Please return Elementa
Quoting klaxton499, reply 159 Stardock is it possible for you to segregate the Dev Journals to paying customers? We are the ones who will be most interested in where the game is headed. +1 I think this would eliminate 95% of the trolls.
Bad idea. The more input the better. We as a community need to get a bit better at driving people to better explain there ideas.
Exactly. Couldnt agree more, if i love playing Elemental single player, why would i want tech trees and such different when i play multiplayer. There will be loads of multiplayer mods(someone needs to buck up and do a tactical battle tower defence, lets see you guys pull that off ;) ) I honestly think if they give us the whole game in MP format, that would be better. I dont want modders trying to put the game back together bless there hearts. Tom P.S. If ANYONE a
Pretty sure they will give a refund.
Player 1: Hey I got a fetlie ground, what did you get? Player 2: Gold mine, earth shard, oasis, old growth forests, and two lost temples, no fetile ground though. Player 1: My network cable fell out of the back of my computer, we are going to have to restart.
CIV games normally run pretty good after they fix the intial memory leaks. Seems like most TBS end up releasing with some sort of mem leak.
Dude strategy games tax your system heavier on every level except graphic rendering then FPS. They eat up way more memory, and require way more calculations and CPU power then say call of duty style game.
Heres the thing with Brad rest his froggy little soul. Brad isnt into multiplayer TBS. Hes not. I dont blame him... it takes ALOT of time and patience to play this kind of game multiplayer, specially if your playing with people who are just starting to play this kind of game. So Brad made in my opinion a few judgement calls which were not good. However i do believe he said somewhere he was sorry about that, and they would fix that more towards what we want. I dont want to go looking for it on
I will admit its not for everyone :) but I play a very good range of games, anything from SC2, to COD, to Sins. Since its hard to find anyone to play chess with these days Elemental will just have to do.
Well.... man versus machine... unless some guest gets annoying then you torch his empire too :)
Nah most people planning to LAN this game dont want dumb down tech trees :) We want Single player but with friends. Half the people probably arent planning an all out PVP game. Just turn the difficulty up and do the good ole man versus machine :)
Okay. Lets discuss Multiplayer just a little. I know we are putting things back in which were stripped out, i know the MP patch is coming thats all good. However... this is what I think multiplayer should look like. The EXACT same as Single player but with humans. Thats it, boom done. Yes add all the extra modes you want, wizard duel, hot seat, ect ect whatever. Multiplayer mode, with all the options of single player, tactical combat, same tech tr
SD is a good group of people. I really hope that anyone who gets a refund on the game comes back after they release a demo and the bugs are worked out and really considers buying the game again. Yes it has issues atm, but given a few months I think it will be a worthwhile purchase. :) also looking forword to CIV5.
Its a dragon! ;) they gotta be awsome. Wait till an AI gets one and sends it your way.
Bump :) sorry to bump it still curious about what the pace of the game option really changes.
Obviously im not looking for a god given date :) but multiplayer with tactical battles what kind of time frame are we looking at? Weeks or Months? I really want to burn my newphew's cities to the ground :) S.R. P.S. if there is someone to PM for semi retarded questions like this should we PM them or forum post?
