Once that finally Beta 2 has hit us all like Thor's Hammer (not that from SG-1 but the one from Marvel), I can finally "morph" the thread. There is no so much need anymore to depend on what devs say that they want to do with the game (dependecy still present tough) and we can finally see what they have been doing in secrecy. That means that the thread can be heavily update with Beta content while keeping some parts, like game overview or Elemental Editions, that are also interesting t
Roads and caravans Too much micromanagement here. Automate caravans and the gradual establishment of roads, similar to what was in BETA 1. There's already a lot to do, and this only adds to grinding the more cities a player has. The initial roads could be upgraded, by way of research, in order to allow a greater movement bonus (maybe this is already in the game and I didn't notice).
Research tech, build carava
A couple of months seems reasonable to: get to know the innards of the game, play the campaign, beat Frogboy in multiplayer... several times (not me!), get to know what can be done (exposed to Pyhton) and what still needs to wait... Plus all the initial days after release eating popcorn while reading the forums with lots of people complaining about how dumbed down and for carebears the game is, how too much micro it requires, how the replayability sucks because it has no differen
"good" kingdom
Stardock has repeated many times that there is no good vs evil. Now, we could complain that being "good" we can accept a bribe from bandits instead of rescuing the knight... or we could ask for some kind of reputation system that reflects general (and/or particular) actions of the Sovereign (and/or his Champions/troops).
That's absurd. Is there at least a way to get rid of dead spouses? All four of my daughters were slain in a single battle and my husband died. Is that the end of my dynasty for the rest of the game?
That seems to be the case. From what I have seen, at most you get four children (you will get them eventually, at which point the dead of the spouse wouldn't matter so much). No replacements for any of the
I dig the idea of a post-apocalyptic world that is barren. It gives an empire building game a clean start. But in this post apocalyptic world the mood is oddly cheerful. Adventurous upbeat music is playing. There are cute little inns scattered about the map with happy people in them, with enough gold in their pockets to send you off to do menial tasks like killing rats. This is a generic fantasy setting and not the gloomy post-apocalyptic
Inns outside of "developed territory" should be just "Survivor camps" or something where the Sovereign can find rumours, quests... A poor settlement makes more sense than a Inn if we are talkiing of wastelands.
" [Gameplay] [Discussion] City Building: too complicated or not enough so? Two schools of thought." There is people who knows how to build their cities and people who doesn't. And there is also people who prefers other types of systems of the game (i.e. combat) and prefer to have every other system that he doesn't like to be out of the game or as dumbed down as possible. <span style="

Whats the problem with Champions doing what is natural? aka Explore the world for "resources". They could be exploring to see possible threats, trying to recover ancient pieces from the past that could help them (direct use or trading it for something else) and other similar stuff. Staying home won't allow survivors to see incoming threats until it's too late, will prevent them to secure resources that could improve greatly their current situation... They need to be proactive an

I thought that appart from all those too uber random monsters that roam the land (killing 2 of 3 NPC factions in the first turns every game... and any huge army I'm able to amass in the firts 200 turns, and those armies include heavy plate and long swords), there was no difficulty in the game yet. The same as we have hard coded map. And as Ron Lugge, my desi
