Well, 7 days is august 6... wasn't announced for that date in a thread some weeks ago? Just a confirmation (weather pending). So... how much was a ticket for the alpha again?

There! A spoiler! The campaign doesn't end the story! ;) Thanks, Frogboy. Knowing (and enjoying) the expansion packs for Gal Civ II, Elemental's will be great to be sure. Only doubt would be: would they beat the quality of Gal Civ II's? (quite a high bar there)
For example, in Civ4, even adding/changing Civs required going into text editors and a lot of cross checking of files to make sure it would work.
My half finished mod for Legend of the Five Rings is sad witness of that.
Surely the grow with time part means like lots of turns.
I hope that Forgboy makes me participate in the alpha. What?

It's definatly more rewarding, for us and the players (I beleive) to do meaty, full blown expansions where we stuff all the goods in. On

It has been deserving them for quite a long time now. I won't ask for some early Elemental mp3/MIDI/og
Tolkien did an amazing job and what he wrote isn't bad. Yet, there are better books out there without the need of such extensive background for their stories. But as everything, that's just an opinion.

Wasn't it like Life/Death plus two other elements each civilization? That gives us 6 combinations for humans and 6 for Fallen (ok, one of those "Fallen" is supposedly human).
Spiritual succesor to MoM appart from a... publicity thing, refers to the feeling of the game, not to the gameplay mechanics (the flesh and blood). To read that the game should try to stay not very far away from MoM so it's easier to mod into into a MoM clone... Sorry, to much for my eyes. EWOM should be EWOM and not worry about if it's close to MoM or not. And all the complain about only two races? Buff! People cares too much about eye candy. The factions will work differently, which is the
I took it more in the sense of extras, not campaign.

If I were to create a mod based on copyrighted material, It would be a copycat of "Three Hearts and Three Lions" by Poul Anderson. I should be (a character) in the game!
There will be diversity, just that not in the race department.
I think that somewhere Frogboy (or BoogieBac?) already mentioned something about the number of spells and it was similar to MoM.
The problems is that is life/death is a type of magic different from the four classic greek elements, then life/death is also one. At least games tend to associate magic types with elements (and sometimes subelements). The lack of shard for life/death could mean that it's not an element but considering that it's based in living (or dying) beings, a shard per se wouldn't make much sense. And that is neither evidence of life/death being an element is it could be just a.. er.. byproduct? of the
Surely the EULA of Elemental will include something in the lines of "You cannot make profit of it". Appart from something related to modding copyrighted things.
You said that rune was translated as Magic, if that is true then it may be the magic menu? Magic, Life/Death, Camera control... man, that rune surely means lots of things these days.
Complaining about those who understand that there are five elements, is to be so obssesed as those who complain about those who understand that there are four elements. At the end of the day, they are just gameplay mechanics.
As long as we get some nice documentation about the game's functions and similar, it'll be fine. At least for the most basic things so we don't have to start blindly pocking things.
