In the campaign since you can't remove some of the tag-along heroes they don't count against your total. That part isn't a bug.

Some of the error and warning messages in that diagnostics file suggest missing files for portions of the interface - I'm guessing that's what errors like this mean: No string tables in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elemental Fallen Enchantress\Data\English\*.tips WARNING: SetMultilayerPictureFrame FAILED because mwin with given ID not found - check the tag for this control in DesktopX WARNING: SetButtonText FAILED because mwin wit
Had I never purchased GalCiv, and if Elemental was my first Stardock game, I'd be pretty upset at my purchase, but I'm not, again only based on Frogboy's dedication to their games long term that I experienced with GCII.
Yeah, my feelings exactly. I know this game will become significantly better because of how vigorously stardock supports its titles post-launch. That sort of dedication does make answering the question "Is the game finished and ready to be r
Sadly that is not entirely unusual (resource spawning issues) and they are likely going to have to tweak that mechanism quite a bit. In games like this, resource distribution, spawning, and the like is one of the toughest things to balance. It was almost constantly being tweaked in Galciv 2 - since the same algorithm had to figure out a balanced way of distributing resources for maps of many different sizes, with different numbers of players as well as consider how to handle var
If this fix DOES cause issues with directx, they are not fatal errors as I have not had any CTDs since applying this temporary fix. I have had one or two odd graphical glitches with animated world objects, and they do not occur when I switch back to my backed up executable. They also only occur after a couple hundred turns so I assume they do have something to do with large memory allocation. Again, they don't crash the game so they are (at least for a temp fix like this) gr
Quoting Dereliction, reply 22This seems to be the consensus, at least for revealed resources. Notables and quest locations obviously don't work by that same standard, though I would question if only new quest/notable locations of level X (X being the newly achieved level) can appear, or if it is a range--such as level 1 to 2 for mapping, instead of just 2--can appear in some weighted fashion. One thing is for sure, there is still a f
Shards should help regen rate right? Also, slow regen is there to encourage you to embue champions with essence- because then you have multiple units regen mana every turn meaning you get to cast more spells on average per turn. Try leaving your units in a city for a turn or two- maybe I'm imagining things but I think you regen mana faster when in cities. That might be my imagination or the effect of buildings I'm not considering though.
You know...all you really have to do is read the description for the tech. It tells you what it does in the description. I know I didn't realize at first (I guess used to GalCiv). It says right in the descriptions...look for "notable level"....or "quests"....or "resources". I haven't found one yet that DOESNT let you know, albeit buried in text in the description
Sure, though it doesn't help that the tool-tip that tells you how you can increase your notable level i
It looks likes your post where you described what happened when you tried to turn in the mastery quest was cut off. Also, did the army that entered the library have all the items in their inventory? Make sure you move all the items to one champion's inventory (not sure if it has to be your sovereign.) Have that army enter the library. I don't think it works otherwise. The site you uploaded the savegame to is blocked by my firewall right now- I can try looking at it l
And I still can't even boot the friggin game. Black screen and then crashes into desktop. Is a fix for this being worked on? :/
Have you made a post in the support forum? If not read the quick little explanation on how to give them the info they need and make a post in that forum. Here's a link to the instructions on how to make sure you give them all the information so they can address that problem: https
Savegames could be in a couple places. Mine show up in: my documents->my games->elemental Depending on the version of windows you have and various security settings, it could also be in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental
Enable cheat mode by creating and editing a shortcut to elemental.exe (copy the one on your desktop or in your programs list). Right click on the shortcut, go to properties, and change the "Target" from: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Entertainment\Elemental War of Magic\Elemental.exe" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Entertainment\Elemental War of Magic\Elemental.exe" cheat Ctrl+T will teleport a selected unit around
EDIT- wrong thread
Ooh, I completely misread the OP! I thought they were talking about a modded Sov. so I assumed it had essence. And yes- Royalty appears to be broken for all non-sovereigns. Sorry to confuse you, but yeah champions you recruit with Royalty do not seem to add to the prestige of the city they are stationed at or any city for that matter.
I have to ask- is that the complete empire list for those techs? I only count 2 notables upgrades as opposed to 4 for the kingdoms list. Do Empires races just start at a higher notables level? I haven't played one of them yet so I'm not sure myself.
They released two patches tonight and are working on the post-mortem to decide on the next patch and/or hotfix so I think that might be why they didn't get back to you right away. They do like to get the savegame files if you still have them though, so they can verify what exactly is going wrong for you. To submit a savegame you have to just post it to Pastebin and copy/paste the link in this thread with brief descriptions of th
Immediately before crashing, I heard a metal klang sound effect, like a hammer hitting an anvil.
That sound is probably your windows sound effect for a critical error alert. On my system with the theme I have the sound is more like if a very large man were to pass gas through a tuba. Also, for security purposes mostly I think, they want everyone to use Pastebin to post file links in the forum.
I wish them well I really do , but this ship it and patch later for major features that were supposed to be be included at launch is where I think many of us draw the line.
The only thing I can say in their defense, and it's not really defending them as much as it is a comment on the state of the industry, is that at least they're not releasing multiplayer capability as an expansion pack you have to pay for. Anyone here play many Civ games? Yeah... that was
I never created one with dominate, but I did create one with royalty and noticed that my starting city only had +1 prestige instead of the base +2 it would before the patch. I created a new identical custom sovereign and that resolved the issue. I have not tested custom factions pre/post patch, but if it's not too time consuming you may want to recreate those too just to be safe. I know that there have been a lot of custom faction bugs though, and I'd check the patch notes t
Well I figured you were either a professional or amateur obsessive-compulsive when I saw the nice job on the color coding. I mean that's how my aunt always referred to herself when she worked as a technical writer- a professional obsessive-compulsive. I guess you could also consider yourself a free-lance obsessive-compulsive if you're offering to document and color-code as contract work. Right now you're doing it for free.. so... philanthropic obsessive compulsive mayb
Thank you for this post. I've been figuring most of this stuff out, but this is by far the most succinct and informative info on these techs I've seen so far.
some other factions don't appear in my diplomacy screen even after I've met. Only some of them. If I'm in sight, I can click on their leader and speak with him, if I'm not I have no possibility to speak with them.
Minor factions do not show up in your diplomacy tab. I wish they did- maybe on a second page or something. I also wish that when you finished talking to someone, the diplomacy screen stayed up instead of going back to the overland map view. I
I hope they add support for larger sized maps at some point- maybe in the x64 version since that should be able to utilize more than about 1.5 GB of RAM without crashing. And yes before someone says something I know that the theoretical limit for 32 bit adressing is higher, but 1.5 GB is closer to the real limit when you account for video-ram adressing and other things. I'd love to throw the 64 bit version on the box I put together for running plasma simulations. I wonder
Do you use Windows 7? I'm holding off on the patch, but it may have made it so windows is putting the saves in the virtual store. check to see if there's a stardock (and e:wom sub-directories) in your C:\Users\*yourusername*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86) directory. if a permissions setting was changed (ie something lost admin privelege or a directory was changed so that your current user lost ownership) then that is where windows likes to pu
use him as an archer if nothing else
You can actually hit mid-level creatures with a bow? Man hitting things with bow units in tactical combat seems like a frustratingly rare occurrence for me no matter my stats. I find I get better results with a melee power-house armed with either a lord hammer or the elementium sword. To keep him from dying, I just let his bodyguard units soak up all the counterattacks before he steps in and whomps wh
