This has been broken for awhile... it will set there racking up tech knowledge, but not researching anything if i don't manually launch the research screen.
I've started two games and he hasn't shown up. I still have the "Janusk Advice" checkbox checked.

it didn't cost me 100g this time... i didn't notice that in the changelog so is this by design or is it a bug?

They can retreat safely every time. It's just a pain to have to go through the retreat process on every tactical battle map with so many monsters roaming the wilderness.
They are almost all worded the same so it's hard to tell which ones are going to raise your notable location level, which ones are going to raise your quest level, etc.
For example, "Royalty" improves prestige by how much? "Bard" decreases the cost of heroes by how much?
I recruit champions and send them back to the capital. They want to walk through AI territory when I don't have a non-aggression pact. They must learn to go around please.
34 turns in and I can hardly move around the map because every one's influence is so large already.
