Right now the strategy is go out and recruit a couple of level 1 champions and start killing stuff. It doesn't matter what you research or what you build because your little band of 5 champions will wipe the map. Ask us again in a few months, hopefully there will be some strategy behind what you build and what you research once SD has had a chance to implement some of our beta feedback.

Looks like I'm going to lose this argument for leaving the outposts alone so if you do make changes, please just make minimal changes. For example, each outpost can upgrade to an a.) guard tower that shoots trespassers b.) watch tower with greater line of sight or c.) economic outpost capable of receiving caravans. That's it.
Yes I agree... or at least have something like Gal Civ 2 where we can assign caravans to go different places using a map. That map would show what routes currently exist and allow us to create a new routes.
I agree. Gal Civ 2 even had random personalities as a choice... Dare we propose random faction traits on our random opponents?
I actually saw some pioneers being sent out with protection. Thank you Brad! That is good AI. Unfortunately, I also some other pioneers without protection. :-( Armies are pretty weak compared to higher-level champions so we need the AI to plan accordingly.
Thanks Gunslinger! I have the newer versions on my home computers, but work computers have to stay at the lower levels to be compatible with some of our older software... see you knew there had to be a reason right? P.S. And while you may think v3.x is ancient compared to 9.x, just remember that Firefox started upgrading their browser monthly/semi-monthly just a few months ago. The latest version of v3.6 is less than 6 months old!!!!
Here's what I need... I need a little icon like you put on the champion and quest tiles to tell me there is an "improvable" tile out there. Once you start taking over the world, you get lots of tiles that you can't improve until you have the technology. I know there is an exclamation event that shows up when you can, but sometimes those get overlooked. Please add the option for a little icon on "improvable" tiles so that they're easier to see.
My only gripe with magic right now is that we need an autoplay (no magic) button for tactical battles. I hate watching my mana getting used up for a battle that I could win without it... and no I don't want to have to play the battle just to ensure my mana isn't used.
Can I be the first to disagree? I don't think outposts should be anymore than what they are today. If you want to do all that other stuff, build cities. The only improvement I would suggest is that when I put an army there to guard one, take them out of the army list on the left so I don't have to cycle through them every turn. They should disappear from that list like armies do when they're in cities.
I agree with the posts above.
Have the spell text messages autocalculate the effect of the spell based on your shards and hero bonuses in the same way that it calculates mana used based on hero bonuses. That way I don't have to know my shard numbers because the game has already told me what the final effect of the spell will be.
Yep, please do this.
The forums page looks jacked up in my browser FF3.6
They’ve implemented new controls that let players alter the look of the game. I had been kind of loud about complaining about the “blah” of the palette so now there’s various sliders. It’ll be interesting to see what beta testers choose as their preferred palettes.
Glad to hear this... this was gearing up to be my first complaint post based
I guess since they can't do Alpha Centauri, this is the next best thing right?
Nooooo! It's too soon. Take your time. Give Jon and Derek three more months. There's no rush.
You can play SWTOR in a window while playing FE. Believe me, I know this for a fact. I've made a lot of credits in SWTOR sending my guys out on missions. I can make artifact quality hilts and color crystals now $17k apiece on the market -- thanks to FE (because I wouldn't have had the patience to do that much crafting if I wasn't also playing FE in another window).
Great idea! Problem solved.
Any ideas? What should I do?
I've been thinking about this thread a lot, as I am one to blow up and flame from time to time. I think I am going to try and not do this any more. It really hasn't been an issue for awhile, so long after WoM release, but when tons of new people start to come to the forums for FE, I know the feeling to explode at some with who make entitled, illogical and whiny post. I will do my best to address it in

You had me all the way up to the 99 turn non-aggression pact. I thought we agreed that would not be carried over from EWOM. That needs to be a 30 turn pact or have a way to break it or have open borders included as part of it.
Sorry--Derek Paxton's Fallen Enchantress
Yeah let's make Derek Paxton the next Sid Meier. For me, Fallen Enchantress is hopefully the game I was hoping to get when I paid for EWOM. There's a lot of hope in that statement. I reserve the
Here are a couple of thoughts to put your mind at ease... The good news is that while Brad has been playing Star Wars, Derek and Jon have been cranking out EFE content. That's why Brad hired them... so he could play Star Wars while they worked. or Brad got beat by the AI on "challenging" level the other day so he considers the AI work all done for EFE. Now he's just waiting for those laggards Derek and Jon to finish their shiz so we can start
Hi Brad, have you had a chance for a rematch yet?
Glad you're spending so much time on improving the AI.
