I thought that in Civ4 BTS the espionage system was a bit heavy handed. I'd love to see a subtle and balanced system that could be ignored- espionage should be a minor aspect of the game. By no means should it be allowed to balloon in importance past a tool in your arsenal into a staple of your Civ.
Hell no. Just a pipe dream perhaps but I will be bringing it up during the actual beta. Could anyone else
I don't think we'll be seeing an "epic story generator", and I'm not sure I even want one. This is still a 4x game. It's got RPG aspects, but it's still (supposedly) about building a civilization. I just don't see how something like this could fit in properly with the game, without the game becoming increasingly scitzophrenic.
Yes, I'm with Tamren on this one. I don't think we'll be seeing specific classes in the game, but rather archetypes based on how you choose to develop your hero(es). It's my hope that we'll be seeing something as simple as a character creation tool, such as the shipyard in GalCiv2, where we initially create our heroes, equipping them with a base set of abilities or characteristics (i.e. "Does this hero have a horse?", "What weapon does he use?") and then get a full list of "feats" or

What I want, is a 4x Fantasy Civilization game. I don't want HoMM or AoW with 4x glued onto it. With heroes, we've already gone a considerable step in that direction. With tactical combat, we've gone yet another huge step (wheter it's real time or not). Extensive underground worlds or multiple layers would be just yet another step towards a Jack-of-both-Worlds/Master of Dung. The less emphasis on the leadership of the heroes and running around underground dwellings with my hero or cha

Arrgh, it's again one of those "I know the answer, but I don't remember who said it, or where, so I could have dreamt it". I think it was said that there will be water, and water combat, but the game isn't centered around it. So it'll mostly be a matter of transportation, and obstructing it.
I'm not sure I like the idea of having to assign any of my heroes to do espionage, tying them up on essentially trivial tasks. Being a huge fan of the underhanded game, though, I'd love for there to be specific actions for them to perform in relation to assassination, stealth, and so on. I'm hoping for Elemental to really allow you to play that kind of underhanded game, hit-and-run tactics, cloaked units, and so on.

I've been in favour of Alpha Centauri-like technological research, so why not MoM-like spell research? The only thing I request is that the two systems are somewhat distinct from eachother. I don't want both being completely random, or both being GalCiv/Civ-like.
