Tactical battles are not nice at all yet. They need a lot of improvement. I like the line of sight idea.

I agree with the OP. Imbueing should have some sort of maintenance cost. I really dont see how 25 mana would be a lot.
So, after playing the beta for a few hours, here are some thoughts on balancing: Right now, I can build troops, and more troops, and more, and more, and more, because the gildar comes in extremely fast after some time of city growth. I have no idea what to do with the thousands and thousands of gildar in my treasury. Still, I rarely see any AI armies containing more than 2 or 3 troops. As it is now, the AI is hardly worth a fight. Sadly, I
Very happy about this review. Hope it brings some more german elemental players. :)
Ok, uploaded V0.2. :) All files now only included new or changed stuff. [e digicons][/e] I even noticed that I didnt change empire techs at all, but their tech files still were in V0.1. [e digicons][/e] Edit: Forgot to edit 1 file. Uploaded V0.2 again.
Do you think you could remove the techs from the tech trees you're not actually adding or modding? Would make it easier to figure out what you're doing. Edit: I've looked further at you mod. The problem is, it's not going to play nice with other mods. Because you basically modded core files them put copies in the \Items folder, it will overwrite any other mods people are using (or not) depending on the order
No, its in my first post. [e digicons]:-"[/e] You dont expect me to write down the details of every single item, do you? [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
This Mod offers a complete rework of Elementals weapons, armors and accesoirs, also adding some new weapons, and changing units stats. Version 0.2 Changelog: - Now better compabitility with other mods. Version 0.1 Changelog: - Rework of weapons, armors and accesoirs, changing prices, neccesary materials, attack and defense, adding passive Boni like higher counterattack damage or critical hit chance, adding weapon bounded abilities like Sweeping B
When clicking shift + tab, I cant log in, tells me my Impulse account does not have access to this title. :(
Does point 1 mean we cant even play modded games online??
You must be joking right? Why the hell you have removed tactical battles from the multiplayer? I hope, this is the case only for your official servers. But I do not really like, how you force people to play the game, the way you want. I have absolutely different opinion then yours. And I do not mind waiting for tacticals battles to end in MP. As I enjoy playing with my friends. I have never had such an issue in HOMM and tactical battles took quiete l
Then I guess my first mod will be a localization. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
From the topic Elemental Modding: Part 1 – The Basics :
Inside the Data folder is the English directory. As its name implies, we switch this directory based on localization (so there will eventually be a German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian, etc. directory).
This sounds like they are doing localized versions after all. :)
Hello folks. :D Due to the fact, that I didnt find any German Fan-Forum for Elemental, I just created one. www.elementalforum.de.vu Its small, its ugly, theres advertisement all over. [e digicons]:puke:[/e] (Still working on it though) Maybe there are some German Elemental fans in need of a german forum. [e digicons][/e] Devs: I suppose it
Hi all [e digicons]^_^[/e] I would like to create an unique improvement, which output is defined by an already existing output of the building town. In my example, the Monument of peace shall deliver gildar in the amount of the towns prestige. [e digicons]\o/[/e] Im just not sure about the calculations. How do I link to the building towns prestige? [e digicons]:S[/e]
With Adventure Level 3 you can visit some kind of troll huts (or something like that). Those spawn all over the world, and in each one you get a ring of might. These you can sell at a town for 400 gold each. :-) Mr. Balance, come and save us. :-D
Is this in a old game or a new game...and if old game, does starting a new one fix it? (or going from what kyro posted while i was posting....does restarting the game and starting a new game fix it:P)
It does not.
Happens to me too. Like Steven said: Game breaking bug !
Right now, you can develop the best armors and weapons extremely fast. Honestly, who researches things like logistics or training before you have the best weapons and armors? One soldier with like 30+ attack and defense, will crash any logistics army of trained elite club wielding peasants. There needs to be a reason to acquire those techs instead of better equipment. For example, have way more equipment techs with only slight diff
I strongly agree with the OP. Currently, if you early conquer an enemy with, like, 3 towns, you have won the game. You gain the production of those towns (food, research, gildar), but you dont pay anything. Like I did before, I strongly suggest maintenance cost for towns. The founding cost is just not enough, cause when conquering, there is no founding.
I like Pyromancers Idea of buildings in the Diplomacytree, which efficiency depends on your treaties. Like +1 to research for each trade treaty and each research treaty. Also, there should be passive effects (like in GalCiv) to strenghten your treaties. Im missing stuff like "Bonus to trade treaties". And last but not least to make diplomacytree more interesting: Espionage, maybe even stealing of ressources.
I strongly agree with the OP. The whole research system needs a lot of love. I also have another suggestion. Not sure its a good idea, but I still would like it to be discussed. Make research take longer after each breakthrough, not only in one of the 5 techtrees, but overall. So, if you get a breakthrough in civilization, and the next tech costs like 50% more researchpoints, then the next tech in the other 4 techtrees cost like 20% more points too. &nbs
Runtime Error when trying to load a game. [e digicons][/e]
I see your fear, very similar to the Stack of Doom from civilization. Would be nice to have, like the logistics of GalCiv 2. Maybe there could also be a maintenance cost/strength reduction of units in huge stacks? Huge epic battles are nice, but there should be a use for smaller, more tactical armies.
I like these ideas very much. Why did I not think of GalCiv myself? [e digicons]^_^'[/e] [quote who="Cauldyth" reply="2"
Currently, if you want to beat the shit out of any big monster, you build some troops, gather them around your sov, and attack. Either you win, or your whole army dies. Now Im really afraid of big wars. Both sides would be building up their armies for years, then theres gonna be 1 fight with both their armies, and the war is over. The losing side would instantly lose its whole army. There would be just no point to not fight with the whole army. I
