With Windows 8 coming out, it feels like Vista, or Windows ME, ALL OVER AGAIN! While Stardock has solved the start menu issue in Windows 8 its annoying that users have to do a workaround on Windows 8 just to get the desktop feel side of things back again. Simply put, you don't release a tablet style OS on a casual type environment the desktop or laptop.
I heard these "workarounds" dont work in the latest prev

Cant believe that you risk alienating so many customer for silly gimmicks like achievments and leaderboards. Nor does Steamworks solve any connectivity issues (try hosting a local left4dead game and see how far you get, valve just throws dedicated servers en mass at it). ICO works well enough and should have been fine with further tuning.
1st and 2nd places are a joke though.
the patch shouldnt be 2 gigs big. you probably installed some beta patch and there is a bug that will make impulse download far to much. deactivate "show pre-release version" and the shift-right click on the game and then on verify.
I think one problem is, that there are so many npcs at the start of the game, that you can mostly rely on them for your military. and then you can outfit them all with whatever you can buy from the hop in mass quantity. Buying a few weapons and armors for gold instead of resources is fine. there may simply be a few items around in shops from whatever source you can think of (scavangig, import from other (independent)nations ect...). So there are a few possibilites: lim
I think its both a feature. Sovereign are meant to ignore int requirements. And i heard modding atm works that way, so the values of the original and the modded files add up. Not sure if it really is intended to be so.

My Guess would be Keal. Thats the only name i can come up with when thinking about it. But Steve Barcia or Bryan Reynolds would probably make my head explode. (playing MoO1 right now)
Luck is a key here, just like in the Civ: Revolutions, because cities happen in small quantities and access to resources is vital since without them there are no military units.
i played revolutions on the ds and you didnt need any resources to build units. thats was a feature of civ 3 and 4.
Just because the shop is not owned by the publisher, does not mean that the publisher does not sell it anymore. And no, you cannot just take "trash" software and sell it. the copyright holder has to agree otherwise you would get sued. you get the license to use the software from the publisher and not from the shop.
The wording on the site certainly does sound like they are going to put something different up instead.
Organized trait removed. Now the early stack is back to 1 square movement. Sheesh 1 square movement makes pursuing enemies a joke with an early stack...freaking CHECKERS anyone:) Well actually, I just like chess better.
You just answered why Organized was removed: it was so powerful you HAD to take this "optional" trait. Now they only have to make movement a little more easier.
you mean its valuable to abuse the AI or be abused by the AI, like in galciv2.
Its in the thread about about 1.06 patch in the dev journals, right below the the changelog. it was the whole 1.06 patch that unintenionally broke the savegames.
Quoting surlybob, reply 26What you describe is pretty much every software developers wet dream. It's the next logical step from the "you aren't paying for the software, you are buying a license to use the software" SCAM that they've already rammed down the market's throat. No.Not a license to use the software. A license for getting updates for the software. You can use it as much as you want, but after your license experies you do
shards are not working in manual tactical combat atm. thats why you see so low damage outputs.
the issue with the gold is still present in 1.06. also, caravans get stuck on top of my capital. it looks like they wont move if more than one of them is on a tile/city.
its the other way around with custom factions vs premade. you get tons of points to spend on strengths where the premades only have very few.
it certainly works when playing wiht a royality sov, but another hero with royality does not make a difference.
he certainly had another city, but may have spent all essance on the last fight.
good luck trying that in a few patches, when the bows bug gets probably fixed and archery balanced. not to mention inevitable ai upgrades, making strategies from abusing short lived exploits isnt going to get you anywhere.
yes, this actually happend: i attacked and took a city form an empire (me kingdom). a few turns later, the army of the enemy shows up, takes the city back but also takes some massive losses. so i immediatly counterattack on my turn and kill the enemy sovereign, who then died defending in his city, because it was mine for some turns and didnt turn back to fallen land? this his dead should not have happned. either the terrain changed to fast after i conquered the city or it shou
So i had to post this, a screenshot of my first born child, notice is essance: obscene! i got plenty of those +25% essence buildings but my sovereign only got half of that. he also got 4 movement without any items! also, you require more crystals:
i was fighting some spider after entering a quest locations, when the game crashed to desktop without a message. i made this rar from the dmp file and debug.err, because the game didnt: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9153113/Elemental1_05-2010-08-26T13-30-01-765.rar
