Personally I liked the number that was there previous and don't understand why they lowered the number of minor nations. Each city helps keep the number of wild things down. I actually liked pockets of unruly areas of monsters, but they dropped that too. So now it is a big, empty world for several beginning turns of a large map.

In RangedAttackSpells.xml there are two entries that look like typos Calculate InternalName =" MineValue " ValueOwner =" CastingUnit " > is on basicarrowattack and basiccatapultattack Shouldn't " <stron

I would like a way I can see easily what cities are producing a resource that I can build an improvement on. For instance, irrigation and granaries, I need to know which town is producing food, how much and if those improvements are already built there or no. This would apply to markets, etc. where the bonus is a % of the existing resource of the city. Ultimately, I would like a screen where I can choose something I want to pay attention to and it lists this kind of informatio

Interesting idea. I agree that imbuing and summoning is totally the way to go with the current rules. I don't see why your new formula would change my mind on champions, but perhaps with summoned creatures, as it should. Also, why do I have mana for summoned creatures and cannot use it? Meaning my summoned creatures have mana and spells but I cannot use them in battle. Additionally I have still noticed times where if I have more than one channeller in a group, they lose mana w
It has been a very very difficult few weeks. Morale is the lowest I've ever seen it. We're pretty saddened by events. Like most players, we just want to get a build out that just &%$^$ works for everyone without any drama. That said, we're here for you guys. We're going to work on Elemental until it is the game we hoped it would be. It won't happen overnight but the past couple of weeks have made it pretty clear what ideas

How does that work with saves? From your post, I am guessing not so well. I understand how it all happens. I program as well and usually under crazy deadlines. You can either hit home runs or not so much. Overall I see a big improvement in the beta on the ai buiding an empire/kingdom if you let them. I should have taken out the Yithril while they were weak and now they have rebounded. Don't they know I am the one true and rightful ruler of the world?! It is getting there, keep

While previous, I could understand the arguements of archers are over powered, 1.08b the archers could not shoot themselves! I have yet, as Empire, to have a squad of archers hit anything! Even units that have much less than the archer's attack rating. Please fix this one very soon
After downloading the latest update, it seems that sometimes I am able to cast the Teleport spell, while other times I can't, even though I have enough mana. Is anyone else having the same problem, and does anyone know what is causing it?
It has to be the leader of the army. If you have another channeler ahead of them, it will not work.

Why is every single person in elemental a warmongering psychopath? The only way to keep the peace is by having the largest army anyone has ever seen. Since all the AI does is spam cities and armies, it means you have to no matter what victory condition you
Quoting Frogboy, reply 10 Are the reductions in equipment cost significant? Yes. In tonight's slipstream system it's been defaulted to be a formula: A weapon = 1.5 * gold cost + 3X materials cost + 10X metal cost + 25 X crystal cost. I like it! More in-line with typical costs of equipment, with a built-in cost ramp-up for the more exotic equipment (which sh

I Agree with Spyndel, I have never had a problem with the ai declaring war on me. They will declare war on the weaker nations and usually try to drag me into it. Look at the foreign relations screen and it will tell you clearly why the like, fear or don't like you. Keeping up a solid military is a must, but you also get bonus points for diplomatic capital, You also get a bonus 1 for being of the same type (kingdom/empire) I have had to be the one to declare war usually. Of cou
Quoting Chibiabos, reply 90 No, I can't. As I posted in its own thread, it was not until I encountered the 6 th champion that one was recruitable at all. The first 5 had no "Recruit" nor even "talk to" icon under "Actions" if I had the NPC champion selected. They are completely unrecruitable . 1.08

I agree that spell damage is overpowered. A couple of channelers with decent spells and a shard can literally wipe out an army before they can move.

9 Replies 4,686 Views

Well, so far it seems like a big improvement on the memory leaks, good job and keep it up. Shards work (yeah) Spells are more powerful. In many ways too powerful. With a fire shard my channeler can blast away anything. Makes me wonder why I have troops other than like the guys in red shirts on Star Trek beaming down to the planet. If you need a little time, let them get killed [e digicons]}:)[/e] I can seriously flatten a fairly large army in one turn be
As far as sovereign deaths = loss goes, I would really like if, when the sovereign died, the next in line for the throne took over that position (since the game orders their offspring in this way anyway..) and so on and so forth until there are no heirs left. Makes diplomatic relations more desirable as well.
Agreed, I get the feeling that is what they are going to do. It just hasn't been implemented yet. I also d

Man, all I did was alter an xml file to try to fix a bug. It was a small change, but got the same error. So I changed it back to the old value, still says corrupt. Ran verification and update, still says it is corrupt. Hoping 1.08 will fix it I guess.

There appears to be a lot of rounding down as well. I looked at a silk skath base attack 5 strength 57 so the attack value is 5 * 570% = 28.5 which rounds down to 28 + 5 for 33 attack Confusion spell 33 * -.5 = -16.5 Round down to -16 + 5 = -11 -11 * 5.7 = -62.7, which on screen shows as -63 So I believe you are correct

I am agreeing with you Gene, however I rarely summon myself. In fact, I should probably use more magic! Seems we also agree that imbue is the way to go. While it costs you 3 essense, you get some cheap total essence as the character levels up. While I enjoy the game concepts, I really am just messing around not actively trying to pwn everyone or be as efficient as possible. Some could be the lack of a challenge, but mostly me being lazy [e digicons][/e] Now spells like
