Ultimately, we're going to make the game the best we can. But when people start out, without even knowing what the game is like, insisting that we clone SupCom it naturally makes us a little skeptical of their feedback. We're not hostile to strategic zoom (as I'll be saying over and over, Stardock was using it before GPG was and every single Stardock strategy game since 2006 has had it. What we don't wa

Just an FYI, you're wrong about not being able to play steam games unless you're online. But then I doubt that'll go through the red-tinged rage. Also, Steam by itself has, in the eyes of the publishers (who are unfortunately who matter in this respect) atleast, singlehandedly saved PC gaming in recent years. So really, it's a rare treat to see someone be as completely and utterly wrong on every single point as you are JCD.
In fact with that matchup i think the game should have lasted about 25-30 or so minutes. You go HP build, AoE the rook's towers while they are busy with your creeps and thus prevent the rook from making a garden of them. Push them back up in the corner, then one of you keep them busy there, while the other warps into their base and caplocks their flag once you hit warscore 10. Upgrade to giants and its GG.
And then it rains frogs and you can eat heartily. You're
Camp 1, but only if it doesn't require micromanagement every single turn to achieve good performance.
Better than L4D is wishful thinking. But it's decent.
Soul Power? Really? You want to make him even more Assassin like. Change Soul Power to something that's actually appropriate for a General - even a (smaller?) weapon damage buff in a radius would be better.
(FYI, to do replays the right way is actually a very complex issue as the right way includes being able to always view a replay even if the game has been patched and you want to view an older replay). I don't think that one is ever going to be possible, not without far more coding than should ever occur.
C&C3 already does it. And yes, it's a huge amount of work - but EA had money to burn on that game (wh
LOL thats funny DatonKallandor because if they had all that on a floppy and the HD's back then were very small a few games would have filled up the HD with just the copy protection you say it had.
I never said they had it on the floppy itself. Code Wheels and other copy protection came with the box - unless you pirated your games. Since you don't even seem to be aware of the existance of that copy protection...
Then you'll have a problem. That's the nature of online play.
Although you could take your CD out of the tray after launching (if you chose the full install) most of the time. Back then, you had to make a tradeoff - do you want to install those huge 100 mb games and need no CD or do you want to save your precious space and use the CD.
Well, it would impact mostly P2P. RTS mostly, some download sharing software (Blizzard's Downloader comes to mind - that's one finnicky piece of P2P), etc. . Many people reporting problems with the same thing, while having the same provider is a big clue.

To keep the games in sync you have to be sending that data to everyone anyway... it's not like there would be much extra to send that isn't being sent already. The engine doesn't work like this. I think lobby in his explanation refers to the pre-game set-up screen. So that's a lot fewer than 1000 - yet s

If you try to contact someone to get information, you do not get to make up whatever you want if they don't reply. You try atleast one other venue of communication - SOP is "if the recipient does not reply, assume he did not get the message". PS.: Please remove "Reclaim Your Game" from the DRM-

That's why DoW2's online system works so well - Microsoft have spent a lot of money making sure it does (which also means a lot of certification required - see 1+ months of leadtime on patches). The Archers support fire makes them invaluable, and they hard counter flying units. Spellcasters I agree with, they're incredibly niche. But Healers are quite useful, as are Druids on the 3rd Continent.

Maybe it is the shoulder pads LOL.
I think it's the more generic setting and, because of that, less varied troop types (no mechanical/magic/mortal). It just generally lost depth compared to FG. I don't recall troop type label issues, but I never really used bombers - Skyhunters just tore them to shreds, as did Archers.
Honestly I don't see where the problem is here. I usually play a different god every game, and I find assassins/generals to be more or less well balanced. The trick with assassins is to use their high burst damage early and often, and to get one or two AOE spells to take care of minions. For instance, with TB, I usually start out with Fireball/Deep freeze, but as the game progresses I use Frost/Fire Nova to take care of minions in one hit

Not only is Erebus himself having those issues (although they're a very minor niggle - a quick second click or minor move order will solve it), his minions are still broken. Only they're far more broken - they simply ignore attack orders, irregardless of how many you give.
