So is it normal that Demigod prompts me to download the update via Impulse, while Impulse then shows no update being present and waiting?
I think all of those ideas are terrible. None of these ideas would "punish" Gamestop; These ideas would all punish Stardock/GPG, which is the total opposite of the desired outcome.
It works the other way around as well. Stardock are a source of income for Gamestop - and Gamestop screwing over Stardock lowers Stardocks profits. That's a pretty clear cut - you mess with us, we mess with you case.
The whole generals idea of them being "RTS'ish" failed, not because Stardock didnt listen to us properly, but because it was just a very impratical idea at heart. It was never going to work, and I dont think it would have been possible to implement it well into the game.
"It can't be done" is an excuse for "we couldn't do it". Especially since it has been done before.
Stardock can do 2 things: sue the early resellers (yeah right... as if they're going to do something to hurt people who help them sell their games)
Actually, it's not "people who help them sell their games". It's "people who are getting paid to sell the games". Selling them under a specific contract. They're not doing it out of charity - they're getting (lots of) money out of

Society hasn't been destroyed there. They're not post-apocalyptic wastelands ruled by Warlords. Just accept that the cap-free system that the US had is/was an outlier, a
I don't see why you're so outraged about this - a bandwidth cap with extra charge per byte over the limit is standard operating procedure in many countries.
The Starfleet Command series, specifically, the second of the series, are some of the best (IMO, the best) 2-axis space combat games. If you see them in a bargain bin, they're worth a try at the least.
Snap. There's one big change that did not get into that change list- Minions now deal more damage.
I hope that includes general specific minions, and you fixed the minion pathing/order ignoring issue. Otherwise, you've just made Generals even more generic and Assassin-like.
Well, in one sense, you're wrong, because the "hardcore" players who stick with the game will buy exansions that you release. Casuals won't.
Why wouldn't they buy the expansions? They'll buy them and not play them for long (as they did with the original) - meaning we're at the same situation again. They paid, mission accomplished. The new trend of standalone expansions makes this all the more pronounced, beca
Why nukes were not used more often though i don't know. Remember when Lee shows up in Peaguses and fires a large salvo of nukes at near point blank range and rips apart the basestar? Great scene, i loved it, but made me think why it wasn't used more often....
Depending to what degree they ignored the (far better) miniseries, they didn't get into fights as often because they were out of ammo - and didn't have enough time to
The problem with targeting casual gamers is that by definition they don't stay with games for very long. You can count on casuals to go out and buy a lot of games over the course of each year, but they'll only spend enough time with each game to have some fun a few hours a week and then eventually move on to the next thing that sounds interesting. "Hardcore" players might make up a smaller portion of the playerbase, but t

It was like that in previous builds - however, in the long run, you'll end up with less money than a General who keeps the idols.
Public Beta? More like "Public" Beta. It's not exactly a case of "wanna beta? Come right in!" which is what an actual public beta would be.
Tic Tac Toe
Player that starts always wins or draws. It's an issue all consecutive turn based games have.
It should be made more universal - make it a building repair and siege tool in addition to the heal/heal other and damage functions. That'd make it live up to its name.
MMO - Everquest 2. Released within days of WoW, and sporting technically far better graphics. RTS - tba.
With a minimap, you get both information simultaneously.
You don't actually - a minimap shows "here be enemies". An almost meaningless piece of information, especially in a game of fewer units. What zoom-out gives you is "here be enemies - of these types". It's far more useful to know that the enemy is doing a three pronged attack with only minotaurs, than it is to see 3 blobs of red move in on your minimap. It is also not faster to move the camera via minimap -
And by clicking on the map, I meant i like to move my character on mini map while looking and something else on main screen.
Limitless zoom-out is a much better way of doing the old "check on the big picture" than minimaps - you'll see when you try it.
Why should it be stronger than fireball? It's insta-cast, leeches health and has two debuffs!
BG was real time....with a pause option, which again, is not something that's specific to any genre (most RTS have a pause option as well) Also, RPG's on electronic mediums have not been about a story or plot for a long time.
Genre wise it's almost entirely an RPG - top-down view with point and click do not an RTS make. Baldurs Gate would be one of the best examples of that.
Which is something only known to people who've already paid for it (are in the beta). The official stance and PR wording is still "Assassins are RPG, Generals are RTS".
