There is a small thread about this in the support forum. You can esc past this problem. Literally just hit esc on the splash screen and you can play, not logged in. I had this problem also, used the shift tab, went to login in, and changed to my new password (I had changed my password since I bought the game). I had to do this even though I was logged into impluse just fine. I think this has something to do with the achievements

same problem thanks for the 'esc' tip It's strange, I'm logged into impulse, but the game says I'm not logged in. I am starting from impulse. All right, fixed it. Shift-tab, used login, and changed my password. I had changed my password since I bought elemental, I was logged into impulse using the new password but apparently you need to log into the game too. Thanks for the shift-tab

Block happens when the attacker does less than zero damage. You will see this a lot when the attackers att is equal to or lower than the defenders def. Dodge is a function of the attackers acc and the defenders dodge. Both of which are related to dex. The game will show you stats. Something like 80% chance to hit, damage 0-5 (3 average). I've seen 5 dodges in a row with a 90% chance to hit. Generally you want your att value

dex also increases acc. As an experiment try boosting one of your heroes dex, then giving him leather armor and the heavy iron shield. When you also boost his dodge with a spell he can get very hard to hit. Still not as useful as a hero in full armor though. I've mentioned in a previous post that we need more options for our heroes. Like dual wielding and wizard clothes. The developers have mentioned they are working on more options for the

My understanding is a little different. Resources do pop up near your capital, but it doesn't need to be in your territory, it could be in the wilds or even in an AI territory if there is one close enough. I've had resources appear near my cities that I didn't research. I like this randomness, but I could see how others might not. In terms of growing your city researching improved housing is just as important as food if you want to get to level 5.</p

This might be a stupid question, but is the AI set to ridiculous or was the world set to ridiculous. I find the AI is pretty good about leveling up its armies with 1.11. Generally speaking I like the keep the world difficulty lower than the AI difficulty.

Yup, I play on large maps. Ussually can three or four cities before you even meet someone else. Then trade and farming tech seem helpful too. I agree though maintenence or corruption or some system to slow down money build up.

I've never had a problem with that quest, the only thing I can think is that if the nobleman's son isn't in your army (he could have died in a battle or something) you wouldn't be able to finish it. Not finishing the quest won't hurt anything. The estate and the inn will just sit there harmlessly.

That's about what guard does. I don't think that guard gives any defensive bonus (I could be wrong). The idea is to leave an army somewhere, like on a resource, and not worry about it.

I'm not sure I follow the problem completely, but the return spell will bring your army back to the capitol. Several spells in the terraforming line can help change the landscape.

I have probably played 20 games of elemental. Last night I started my fourth with 1.1 and I noticed each country has its own difficulty setting. Has that always been there? or is it new to 1.1

Money is plentiful. It creates a situation were the diplomacy armies are over powered because all you need is money to recruit them. They best thing might be to limit the number of individuals you can take from each resource. Only 10 drath (I think that is what they are called) from a drath village, as an example. If nothing else they should cost more. Also the dragons and demons should probably cost crystals and well as gold. I was recruiting champions

Hi all. I have been playing elemental since it was released and I have some thoughts on things that I would like to see going forward. First, thanks to everyone at stardock for their hard work. 1.1 is a giant leap forward for the game. Nice work. MAPS I like the new reduced resources (I'm probably in the minority in that, but I find adding cities to creating safe areas for trade route is in

glad you are enjoying the game until the 1.1 patch building lots of cities is a good idea (and maybe after 1.1 as city spam is a problem for most turn based games) the idea is to put cities near resources and then build buildings that increase those specific resources. Some buildings have a cost per turn so building everything isn't always a good idea, although I like to get one or two level five cities. Food and money are linked, I'll let you discover why if you

When you reach a new level in a tech a list of possible upgrades will pop up. There is a description for each one and in the description it will list any new weapons or armor. You can only pick one upgrade on the list. If you pick an upgrade that has new weapons or armor (or horses or items) it should show up in the store. You can also upgrade your unit design with the new tech. You must be in your own territory to go into the store. The tech description
