Gonna add more. This is a strategy game. That means, like chess, you need to be thinking many moves ahead. Plans. What are your plans for war, diplomacy, what are your research goals. If I am Altar, I may plan to rush Henchman, or if I am Yithril, I may plan to go straight to Juggs. You have to plan for war. Even if you don't want to fight a war, your neighbors may not feel the same way.
Lord Xia
its 9 for an attacking army, but defending armies can have 9+city defense. The problem with defense is, you really can't recover from anything in this game. By that I mean, the outcome of a war is often determined before the first battle. Very Sun Tzu really. If you are not prepared when the enemy attacks, it's pretty doubtful that you will be able to build an army to fight off your attackers. In 20 turns of combat, the ene
You know, I have yet to really use catapults, I should give them a try.
They do need to make other choices viable. They need to overhaul how diplomacy works, but I don't think increasing the cost of military is the way to do it.
He's a pussy.
I would like them to have +1 dodge per level and +25% to all elemental resistances to balance them out.
There isn't one. The faction is pretty good, but the race is shit. The -1hp per level is really painful with nothing to balance it out. The 3hp per kill is somewhat useful to a new, low level Sov/Champ, but it soon becomes worthless and the hp penalty becomes quite a burden. And for troops, the 3hp per kill is nothing and the -1hp is devastating.
Yea, it's a pretty solid choice.
I had a custom faction with Warlord and forced Verga to surrender and had free troops the rest of the game. 100% wage reduction!
Yay!!!
You have to go back and add the second color manually every time you use the nation! Please, two years I have asked for this to be fixed, please.
The same company that ownd GOG owns Witcher 2, thats why you see it there.
Oh really, so GOG is selling new games without DRM? These are new games that are not just indie titles/low budget games? Wow, I might have to take a look at that. EDIT: You tricked me.
Lord Xia, Realism often goes against gaming. If i would play a realistic roman or ancient battle most of the time armys would try hard not to fight against eachother. Moving into a superior position and waiting for the other to attack. Which wouldnt be much fun. Civilization isnt realistic but it wouldnt be much of a game either if it was realistic.
Oh, I agree completely, I was just arguin
HAHA, yea, GOG games sells old shit, it's not the same. I don't get how people can use that argument.
None of it is realistic. A stack of doom , attacking one unit at a time isn't either.
I will be 57 next month (retired bricklayer); played Gc2 but never ad&d. I have always enjoyed Tbs games but not so much Rts. Some of the best turn based games I've played: Master of Monsters (Sega Genesis), Dark Wizard (Sega Cd), Panzer General (Originally bought this on the 3DO console), Homm 3, the Civ games, V is the best imo, Gc2 Rts: Company of Heroes, Sose Trinity (
Maybe we can it represented on a bell curve [e digicons]:D[/e] Basically, average player is about 33 and 95% of all players fall between the ages of 17 and 49, with about 70% of players between the ages of 25 and 41.
In my current Game, Gilden is attacking everything less powerful than himself, empires and kingdoms.
I was wondering where it went too, I used it all the time to make cheap troops early in the game when it's harder to produce things quickly.
Plus, a Great game 20 years ago, wouldn't necessarily be a great game today.
Should almost do a poll on this: Would you be willing to give up player designed units to have a greater visual variety in the races? Basically, the limitation is that each body type / skeleton requires its own set of clothing, armor, etc.
Hell No.
I am 32. GalCiv2 was my first stardock game. I played AD&D in the late 80's and it took a few years to move into 2nd edition, played that, Heroes Unlimited and Rifts until I got out of high school and then started playing some 3rd edition when I was in my mid 20s for a couple years, having playing anything for awhile now.
That might be something on a premade map, they have things on them you won't see in random games.
I think the Spider Queen comes with a world event.
