Even Peter himself was recently quoted that he thought it was actually crap. Elemental is coming along nicely. It's still a beta and we still have a month to go. It was 100 times worse than it is now a month ago, alot can change. &

It seems like just the kind of niche game that would fit in here. Very steep learning curve, almost limitless options, and a living world. I haven't played a Guild game before (or the Europa game), and it is a bit overwhelming, but it does give you the sense of building your own dynasty. So who else here plays this? What are some of your tips/tricks? Does anyone else feel this game deserves more attention than it gets?

Demigod is what happens when your publisher has more passion about the game you're making than you do.

I uninstalled Elemental and then reinstalled it and now I have it and got my tactical battles back.
The first Beta4 update was missing files which is why tactical battles didn't work. You probably reinstalled it after the second update.

If you buy it in the retail store you don't have to activate it and there is no DRM on the disk. You only have to activate it through Impulse if you want to patch it; otherwise it'll run without any online activation or anything. Also I believe if you ordered it through Impulse as a digital download, then it's activated already in your Impulse account and you only have to sign on when you want to patch it after you download it once.

Honestly it took a lot to think that was all actual in game footage. Granted I've seen them do some impressive things, like the water effects in Empire, but that was almost too good to be true. When the boats were sailing and it first showed them and the waterline, and then

Yes the tactical combat is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics, in that it's turn based tactical combat fought on grid of tiles. It doesn't seem to be working right at the moment, but they're workin' on it.

They boosted the amount of units you control from 20 to 30 for starters and for once the AI will be able to handle putting troops on boats and launching invasions (a common problem that has plagued them with Every game at launch). I also saw some new art work for the game that showed Ninjas, so...Ninjas are IN!!! Can't wait.[/quo
And how do you do this with auto-resolve? How does the AI do this? As much as I like tactical battles, you gotta remember that the game isn't a tactical battle simulation and they're meant to be short and sweet because you can have many of them per turn. Stuff like tile bonuses AFAIK are already planned and a good addition, but unit facing needlessly complicates things. If you want flanking, just make it so that a unit attacked from behind can't c

Separating the game into 3 full priced packages has nothing to do with trying to make the campaigns lengthier, or better. That's just PR propaganda. The real reason they did it like that is because Bobby Kotick is the CEO of Activision(Blizzard). Their business strategy is to make money every year from iterations of the same game at full price. This is why you see a new music game from them every year that's basically the same, this is why you see 1-2 CoD games every year, and this is why we

I think my suggestion is pretty obvious from the title. However, I'd like to go into some detail on why this should matter in tactical combat. Almost all great battles prior to the industrial revolution have been decided on who could outflank and/or protect flanks the best, as well as their field position. It's hard for me to see tactical combat being more than a glorified chess board if this kind of thing is never taken into account. What I sugge
