It's not unluck when your Sovereign dies, you have just taken too huge a risk..... Can't understand those complaining, the powerful Sovereign must be balanced out in some way. Using the Sovereign in 50/50 odds battles in the early game to get early advantages should potentially cost you the whole game. The alternative must be to have a far less powerful Sovereign in the game.

For instance: Mithril ore is used to make mithril armor that can be stored in a warehouse. These armor pieces are then used to make troops. If you lose the mithril you can still make the troops for some time but will have to get back that mining node for future production (or start trading for some armor). Your notification feed
I see lots of fans growing more interest in Elemental... perhaps Stardock should take a poll on how many would be interested in purchasing $7.oo Elemental T-Shirts. I suggest $7.oo(or less) since it would help advertise the game. I personally would be interested in Elemental towels.
I'd love to decor
Elemental will be realeased in the USA, so I suggest to implement the setting of the gender (who is the rightfull heir). Otherwise you may have problems with feminists. Even if we ignore them, it is true, that some societies prefer men while the other women. E.g. the king of the Amazons is an unthinkable thing. Or the pope is never a woman. Well that case happened, but....
Fac
Held my breath in 10 seconds before I discovered it was this jolly old flick!
Damn, no news yet..... ;)
Oh yeah, I'am in! :) Of course it won't be as prioritized as my Elemental testing when the beta comes, but this might be interesting! http://www.weplayciv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1298
Boodiebac, are you saying that regular units can not become regulars, veterans or elite units like they could in MoM?
I don't think that was his intention. The screenie clearly shows these regulars can get XP. I guess his point is that these poor units dies so quickly that they seldom get the chance to advance to veteran levels......
I'd love Stardock to make a Civilization game (of the kind 4000 BC - 2050 AD). It seems to take ages before a Civilization V arrives from Firaxis. Stardock's experience from GC1 and 2, and from Elemental, will be usefull indeed. I bet the Frog would love to develop such a game too, he is a Civilization fan I've heard.
As long as I've pre-ordered this is no probøem at all. The only downside is i have to wait longer to play online with my non pre-ordring friends.... But do i understand it correctly, is beta1 in august after the alpha? Does that mean all pre-orders can start beta testing in august already? :) NB! Let's hope the release in august 2010 won't collide with the release of Civilization V then..... ;)
Looked at the survey, and gave up, made my head hurt. 16 spots for each? Was drinking too much vodka yesterday too, so I guess I need some more rest before I'm able to even think about taking the survey.... :D
Wow, this is what I want to use my summer holiday for. I have all of july free from work, so total dedication on Elemental would be the best way to spend it. :D
I hate Twitter, and I hate Facebook. I just don't want to be a part of it.....
Modabilities are nice, but I usually don't like fan made content, it's often too much over the edge and unbalanced. I hope this doesen't meen we wont have Stardock official expansion packs. I will gladly pay for loads of them.
And what is the fun in starting with massive amounts of essence from the start of the game, and no ways to get more? Being able to do whatever you want in the beginning of the game? Isn't it more interesting to start with very little essence, and having to work and plan carefully to get more of it? I guess that's what strategy is all about...
No mini map? Really nice screenshot. The graphics are starting to look nice indeed. I think this game will have a great atmosphere.
Quoting NorsemanViking, reply 10 I really think essence should be renewable, because it adds another aspect of strategy to the game, you have to prioritize hunting for essence, among all the other things. I guess you all have seen this screenie: https://www.elementalgame.com/Screenshots/Empire_Fire_Shard_1280.jpg Don't you think this might be a source of essence? Perhaps they are placed arro

An army should need a hero/commander to fight better. That makes more usefull traits possible for the heroes. Traits making their troops fight better, the army to march further, or the logistics more efficient. One of the things i didnt like with the TotalWar games (pre Empire;TW) was the lack of enough commanders for your armies. Can't understand why that model should be attractive..... And one more thing, this game will be far better then Total War anyways.... at least for a
I have all of july off work.... So, bring it on..... :p
Is that true? I thought Beta 0 was for a selected few, but the next betas was for all pre-orders? Good news indeed of course, if that's a fact...
Hey! I love the workers in Civilization, and having to hide them when enemies attack. It's not too much micro management at all. And I don't want those CivRev ideas ruining a diamond of a game. It's fun actually, making a workforce, and having to balance that vs city growth etc. in the beginning of the game! Having to prioritize every turn what your limited workforce should do. I'm glad Frogboy is a Civ fan, promises well for Elemental. I've been a Civ player since 1991,
Just pre-ordered the game. I was going to anyways, but have been waiting because I wanted the retail box, and the costums to Norway will be expensive + there is a great chance I'm moving before the release in 2010. But of course, I can't miss the Beta...... :D
Late spring isn't far away! I hurried to pre-order when I realised that! :D
I just hope your channeler's mana can be slowely refilled again if you controll certain mana sources on the map, or build certain expensive buildings. It should be hard to come by, but you shouldnt have just one amount of mana the whole game, and that's it, it must be possible to get some more of it.
