I'm so glad this game is turn based, I prefer strategy before tactics! :) I am not so concerned about the races. It's two races, but each race have 6 different sub races/factions, that's 12 different factions. Not many fantasy strategy games have 12 factions to choose from guys, and I'm sure the expansions will give us even more. And remember; all these strange, fantastic and magical creatures will be in the game too, but you'll have to catch them and domisticate them bef
East against West is always a very fun idea. I like it.
Yeah! Imagine playing multiplayer with a friend, one as men, one as the fallen. Each one of us unites their race, then at last comes the ultimate epical superwar between the two of us.... yummy! :D What a grand multiplayer experience it might be.

There's also another method, much better then these 2 mentioned; the Europa Universalis/Hearts of Iron method (Paradox entertainment). It has sliders for upkeep and reinforcements. It costs you gold and draws recruits from your manpower pool. It also takes time and depends on the territory; hostile or friendly, and supplylines. (Why have I not been rewarded with any karma yet? I must say I like those screenshots. It's the best and most detailed so far. I must admit I was a bit worried about the water color style, but these ones look fancy indeed.

We should not brag too much about the Frog. Larger game companies/developers could snap it up and steal the beloved Frog from Stardock. The world would be so much poorer with Frogboy working for EA....... God forbid having Frogboy destroyed working on Spore II or the SIMs!
Quoting NorsemanViking, reply 12 This is really interesting! This will also make it possible to optimize the AI for different kind of maps etc. One AI could for instance have 12 player games, and large maps as his favorite gamestyle, and always wanting to join those game as his 1st priority!12-player games? 12-player games?! If we're going to have x64 gargantuan stupidly-large maps, I want 48-play

I'm a bit worried that those ladies will take to much attention from the development of Elemental..... I hope you keep your pants on at work, Frogboy and Island Dog! :)

This is really interesting! This will also make it possible to optimize the AI for different kinds of games. One AI could for instance have 12 player games, and large maps as its favorite gamestyle, and always wanting to join those games as its 1st priority! What about an AI entering a 1v1 game starting to complain to the human host. "Please change it to a larger map with more players, 1v1 is dull!" If the host refuses the AI can threathen to leave the game and say: "We

Wow! I didn't expect your chicks to be so hot! :) Send my best wishes to Alexandra and Kristen! :D If they want a real viking they know where to find him........

Another thing I'd like to add. Plaese don't have a score system where you can see each of the players total score from early in the game, like in Civ4 or Heroes 4. It makes people too focused on that score, and quitting when they feel they're to far behind. Hopefully you will have to make alot of effort in Elemental to collect that kind of info about your opponents.

I guess there will be an option for simultanious turns. One thing to comment here. I do love the way it works in CIV4 with take over AI's for people quitting, but one thing irritates me. In CIV4 multiplayer most mp games starts out with prince (medium) difficult level per player. When an AI comes inn for a player the AI is pretty easy match. It would be great if the AI that undertook a human player could have greater benefits (be better) then on the difficultsetting in the start of th

Cool ideas of course, if done in an interesting way not making some factions boring to play, but it will need a lot og balancing, and also making the work on the AI much harder...... so we'll see if it's considered worthwhile in the end by the developers......

Solam is right! 4x strategy is TBS. I've tried some "4x games" flirting with RTS, but never for more then 5 min before getting bored. GalCiv2, HOMM3/4 and Civilization 4 on the other hand are games I've been playing for years, and will be playing for years to come. True quality! (I admit I love the Paradox games too, with the Universalis-engine, but they aren't true RTS, neither true 4x.....)

My favorite is HOMM IV. It's the most interesting one with heroes being on the battlefield, and being able to die even if you win the battle. I also like the different schools of magic there, and the way you can develop your heroes. The bad thing about Heroes IV is the bad AI, and that the AI can't make use of the powerful scouting abilities in the game. But if you want to play online/lan vs humans, it's the best! The editor is also very good, so I use to power up the AI playe

Sid Meier's Colonization!!!!!!! And who said they didn't like Heroes of Might and Magic IV? It's the best in the series if you play vs humans. The AI is dumb as hell, but the game ideas are splendid indeed! For Heroes V I wouldn't spend a penny. Heroes III, great atmosphere and great fun!
It sounds like it may be too late to ask for this, but I really prefer strictly turn based tactical battles. As someone mentioned above, I don't want to be spending my time thinking about whether or not I need to hit the pause button. The system that MOM had worked very well for me. I would really appreciate it if it was an option, at least, to make the battles strictly turn based.
Ditto! <

Well, I would hate it if we all had to play the game with surprise research. It should be optional if ever presented in the game. Example: If I want to prioritize economical growth in the start of the game, and just a few military techs, then I want to be able to choose military technology that helps me defensivly, like for instance good archers to protect my castles. I don't want to end up with tech that improves my horsemen.....

I love to play with friends, and we prefer long games we can save, and continue on. I really look forward to Elemental monster campaigns...... I hate games that are over in less then 8 hours! :D

I like the idea that your main wizard can die, and that it is so fatal as the end for the game. It makes for a more interesting game. 1) In this game you will have to prioritize very hard how to use your mana points. And if you have used it all on cities and other heroes you better protect and hide your main man good until his powers are filled up again. 2) It's the only way to implement real super duper heroes/wizards on the battlefield. There has to be a drawback on prioriti

Really interesting looking economical system, making use of the infrastructure/roads for more then just troop transport. It sounds far beyond what I could hope for, but afterall; this is Stardock! :D I will pre-order for sure when my next pay check arrives! Come on Stardock, show the world the great potential of turn based strategy!!!
