Yes, please make enchantments more expensive. 20 mana for enchanted hammers, 5 for inspiration.... it's just rediculous low, and rather nobrainer. Worth alot more the using that same mana to cast some early battle spells instead for some easy early wins, grabbing an earlier artifact and get the leveling going abit earlier. Perhaps bring back maintainance for city enchantments, or at least make them abit more expensive to cast. At least doubble it, so yo

Thank you for your Let's plays, think they are among the very best of this game out there. I'm also glad you don't play on normal difficulty, I usually avoid LP's that are. The more difficult the merrier. I just disagree that leatherworking and shields should be free techs from the start, as you mention in one of the episodes. You can already build early units as it is, and if you try that strategy it can be very powerfull, and you can start leveling up your unit
They want to do it properly, not just putting in a ship as in War of Magic. Guess this is Expansion fodder.
*kicks and screams* But seriously, naval units, archipelago type maps, coastal bonuses, bombardment. There's a lot we're missing! With a Steam launch it would help sales with a multiplayer feature as soon as possible! :D I'm eagering to start a FE MP page on steam, or perhaps introduce it in the No Quitters Civilization group as a great MP TBS alternative to Civ5. Think about it how you'd have to change your strategy in MP, protecting your cities alot more from the start of the game.... hmmmm, I need this game experience so badly.... ;) NB! If you plan for a MP feature, a
LAN-support? Have they announced it? Please tell me it's true! :D 5 more copies sold to my gamer friends then. Edit: Argh, thought it was the Fallen Enchantress forum...... sorry.
I always play on huge (large) balanced map, 8 players, expert difficulty and dense monsters. Pacing is sometimes normal, sometimes epic. The rest of the settings are set on normal default.
This will be a masterpiece of a game! :) I can't stop playing!
This game has not too much micro management. Auto-upgrades of outposts are bad, and give less strategy. I love how they now are a part of closest cities build queue. Why do the OP want less hard choices for himself? Some micro that could be avoided if shards and other ressources, pluss outpost upgrades, could be visible in the cities build screen alternatives. Micro for no reason is bad (example lack of tooltips makes you have to click here and there for cruical i
I'm just going to repost an idea I put down in an earlier thread: I think a solution to the pioneer spam would be pioneers not placing down a city immediately, but rather an improvement that would then need to be built up using their home city's build queue while also consuming growth. These pre-settlements would also cause nearby monsters to attack before they were complete, so th
Not the case. The previous 5 tree system was tossed because there just wasn't enough to fill all 5 trees and still have good opportunity cost. I also remember the WoM tech order. 3 Warfare, 1 Civics, 2 more Warfare, end game. The current trees have a ton of interesting choices, derived from brutal opportunity cost. There is no best tech order. It all depends on your faction, starting city, city specialization, nearby resources, nearby monsters an
I don´t have a prob. with the pacing in generally. But now with beta 4 on every ressource i build is in the queue. Before beta 4 it was only the ressource directly beside your city. That slows down city-development and building up military... At the moment i don´t like that. But i haven´t played much. Maybe i only have to get used to it.
The intention is to make you have to
My first impression was that pacing was great for production, but abit too fast on research. This is playing normal speed. Researching the first military techs goes so fast you can have a spearman in leather ready to be produced after building a first building and a pioneer in the capital. No reasons to make the first military techs free, they make you have to choose harder in the start what to research first. The only prob is it's kind of a non brainer choosing the 2
3 hours of gameplay, and first impressions are solid. Love the gameplay and the new improved esthetics! Now back to the fun! :)
Wow, was planning to sleep some hours, then play whole night before work tomorrow. Now I'll need to start playing at once. See you! :)
Tactical combat should only be made more complex if they think the AI can handle it. I also would rather see some other features improving strategical depth before more ressources spent on the complexity of tactical combat (If more ressources are ready to be used..... ;)). That said, for this type of game, an RPG fantasy grand strategy, tactical combat is important, but I think it works good enough in FE now. Of course, everything can always be made better. (...and Jon
Hi, I like very much 4x games in general, played a lot CIV games, galciv, ... In that respect, FE looks really promising but i'd like to know how does it compares to Heroes of Might & Magic 6 ? - I found HoMM6 lacking depth and i hope this one will be waaay more complex - D
You have found the game you're looking for. Wow! It playes out just like I hoped and thought after reading the visions for Beta 4 some weeks ago. I can't wait to play this pearl of a game. I love how you have to make tough decissions in your city build queue now. This will be great fun, and was what was missing the most from the previous betas. I really look forward to develop my cities and outposts now. After release I will only miss MP and sea and naval stuff. Perhaps some Dynasty dynamics, Minor City States
The best counter is bows and magical long distance strikes..... :D Or just being powerfull enough to take him out. It doesent take to much to be almost certain of victory, it's just a bear.... ;)
I support MP alot, but hope they won't base the game mechanisms on MP but a good SP game. If I kow the Frog correctly they will make it a grand SP game and then hopefully transform the same game experience to MP. I'd rather look at it this way in a potential MP game: Be extra cautious before you involve yourself in battles with uncertain results, so it won't cripple your start.
Still, going from full HP to dead based on luck is a bit much (say if an enemy gets 5 or 6 hits in), which is why a limit of four successful hits each attack might be a good way of providing SOME luck without providing MOSTLY luck.
Well, you know how maul works. Avoid attacking that bear if you need luck to win the fight. Take the chance if you're desperate, or really wants to get rid of it for some reason. That's a
I'm bored by players that want the game never to punish the player. Also bored by games that don't. If you fear maul, avoid creatures with it, or be sure you have some good long range weaponry or spells that can help you out. It's nice that the combats has other aspects then just pure HP vs HP...... The maul really adds to the uniqueness of the bear in a very goodway I must say. I'd hate to be 100% sure winning before every battle vs those weaker on paper creatur

Hell yes! I just made 2 friends of mine buying Endless Space, they'd never if it wasnt for the MP. Now I wish for MP in Fallen Enchantress and GalCiv2 or 3. These are much better games and I'd love to play them MP. (But still want the main design focus to be the making of good SP game features. For instance I'd love features like the GalCiv2 ship designer also availble in MP games, and I want the Elemental tactical battles in my MP experience of
