Installed latest beta 0.980 and started up a game. Then I was asked to answer yes or no to a question about Auto Login or something. This was needed for mod play, blah, blah, blah and..... MULTIPLAYER it said. My heart jumped and started to beat faster then light. Made me so excited to see this, lightened up a little hope for multiplayer in this game. It would be pure awesome to play this excellent game with friends and other hardcore fans. It would be suspensefull indeed trying to expand and
NorsemanViking
If buildings was faster to build there wouldnt mean so much in what order you built them. I think the pacing ther is OK. No point in having super cities the first few turns.
Production nerf is great. Now there is more a hard choice what to build, and units are usefull indeed with more aggressive creatures (at least they where in my game on expert and dense. One AI was killed by them after very few turns even).
Hmmm, a beer while waiting was a good idea. I'll also watch some Europa League football.
Guess their workday is over in ca 3 hours over there..... (but of course Stardock employees never stop and rest) :) My guess is somewhere between the next 1 or 2 hours. The Kingdom of Norway is also waiting and biting nails for this new beta version to arrive!
Beta 5 will be 0.98
Must say I'm looking forward to this. I have a feeling the changes/fixes/improvements in this beta will work out fine! :) Look forward to test a more challenging AI on expert difficulty, and needing more units to protect my expansion vs a more dangerous world. I see alot of hard and interesting choices having to be made on what to build, and in what priority, in the early game.
Who in his right mind would like to get Windows 8?
New update probably not coming today or this week then, Brad? Guess you won't release anything on a friday. By the way, love the Frog's humour. His changelog posted here was legendary. ;)
The worst is when the roads go through the wildlands...... :)
I thought about it, but I doubt it would be entertaining to watch without a lot of heavy editing. On Insane, combat is long and repetitive. The enemies have at least three times the normal hit points, and fighting involves a lot of dodging in and out, and running around the tactical map while regeneration does its thing. And I am not really willing or even sure how to do the video/audio editing.
I agree with the OP. Fallen Enchantress is superior in alot of ways, but I think the imbue champion-system, and the original system of individual mana had alot of potential, charm and strategy to it.
If you can snake to rivers or a forest city placements mean nothing. Then there will always be a non-brainer choice just based on the highest grain/prod/mana in the city tile where you'll build your city. No point in considering sacrificing anything to get a tile next to a river or a forest if you can get to it by snaking anyways (and get it all eventually).
Guess it would be usefull if people also mentioned the difficulty level they play on. I'm always on expert, dense monsters, large map, 8 players, rest normal. I need units, that's for sure. But I don't need them desperatly too early on, because there are lots of monsters/cratures that are very easy to take out with 2 low level heroes combined.
... and that was the last one in this series.
One more please, and one difficulty up, and a few more opponents on a huger map. That would be exciting and nail biting indeed! :)
Well, there is one problem with heroes; you can't get so many as you'd like. Units on the other hand can be recruited en masse. They are extremely usefull in supporting your heroes, but mostley from mid-game. I too agree monsters are too weak now. This is the reason units feel useless for some, you don't need them early on to help your 2 starting heroes leveling up more efectively. They help of course, to take some hits, but are not worth it compared to building pioneers o
Ditto! Really like the scaling by city size ideas! :)
Nice. 3 new episodes. I look forward to see this war.
Combine it with cruel and we really speak overpowered. The you get one more sovereign point, one more attack, and 50% plus recruitment cost for heroes (that means nothing). It should not be possible to combine natural leader and cruel, it's just obvious so I'm sure the developers are on it. And no, I don't think the trait itself is overpowered compared to other traits like starting with 1000 gold or long terms one improving your sovereign more as he levels up. Rememb
Quoting NorsemanViking, reply 19 Quoting Poko8, reply 16Sounds great! Any word on the 3-turn minimum build requirement? Or is that still in there? I sure hope it's still there. Why? It has bad effects whatever the player does about it: If you live with it, it makes things take a lot longer to build than they should, and gives t
Beta 4 A coming out and I don't know if you are continuing, but you was about to declare a war that could be interesting. If you start a new one I'd hope you'd want to choose hard or expert difficulty (one or two levels up). You are getting so good at this game now, and it's no way you can lose this current game on challenging. After you kill Altar there will be nobody to challenge you. It would be even more thrilling to watch if you risked to lose big time, and needed to be v
good balance changes it seems, looking forward to try new patch
And AI changes looks promising too. Can't wait for a harder game on Expert, large map, 8 nations! :)
I love that you must and can build your roads yourself, but hope you thought about the old Civilization manace before Civ5: Road spam! :) God damn I look forward to the next version of this excellent beta! :) Edit: As I live in the Kingdom of Norway I guess it's very late here when the 4A arrives. Was thinking of making a new game now, but I go to bed, and play all night with a new version instead, before work tomorrow.
