One thing is clear, however it's done, defending home territory needs to be improved if we want grand scale wars to feel more epic. The suggestions I've heard here that I like the least are more defensive spells in home territory, making spells and magic even more powerfull and the only right way to go. This is also a potential AI crippler of dimensions. Sieges are the best, but this is a new feature for an expansion pack. </

That way you have to pay for it, meaning even keeping it in your queue costs a serious amount of resources. It also adds a nice aspect to the Influence mechanic.
Thumbs up. It's a problem now that it's a non-brainer placing it in the queue as soon you
Have we heard anything about a today release by the way?
Units get a -25% to attack and defense when they are in enemy lands Booo! This might seem like a clever fix to make attacking enemies harder (thereby making the game more difficult). In reality it is going to punish the AI as much as it punishes the player.
It's not about improving AI first and formost. It's to make defending better,&nb
Although I like multiplayer, I think this is very hard to implement. Too much randomness in quests, resources (crystal, shards, metal, horses,...) and the rest of lore...some disbalancing between the races... But anyway, the option of having it is tempting...
The randomness is no problem, we don't want multiplayer to be any different from the MP version.
quoting post Added the Recruit Bandit spell (only sovereigns with the Bandit Lord profession can use it, converts a bandit to your side in tactical combat for 25 gildar) I like it. It will be perfect for my style of play.
A little mana cost would be nice as well. :)
Would hate it. Rather reduce what they give you per turn. I tend to build out iron and crystal mines rather late and not prioritizing those buildings early on. It should be something you'd like to build out as early as possible, to start storing up sufficent amounts, making it a harder priority next to other early buildings for the cities.

This game is a piece of art, a masterpiece that is still improving! I'm a happy fanboy! :)
Damn, it needs multiplayer to sell to my friends...... ;) Guess I'll have to buy them a copy each, so they can start training for the MP matches later to come. Perhaps those extra sales can give us excactly that; Multiplayer! :D Edit: One thing is clear, even though I play the heck out of this game already, its longlevity will improve alot with MP. Nowadays I only play 3 games, and FE is the only one I still enjoy to play SP. Europa Universalis 3 and
It better be a nerfed horse and not a supreme pink space pony with divine powers..... :)
What! They added a pony now? To please Xia? :)
And the same goes for the slow paced option. Would love to see longer production time needed there, not just slower research. Fast paced I never play by the way, but of course it has its uses for many. Slow paced, long games on the hugest maps possible is what counts in my book. :D
Lots and lots of great selling points. This game is awesome! :) This is a good link to send to buddies actually, to convince them they need this game too.
They did? Intresting. But I thought the bonus was when there are 5 or more units in the army, not in the unit itself?
Suggestion: - Make a sovereign with Urxen blood (or is it Umber?) - Give him bandit lord trait (+1 p) - Use no points for magic - Give him the staring armor for the arm wrists (+1 p) - Give him the most expensive bow (+1p) - Give him the +3 attack ability (+1 p) - Give him the + 1 accuracy and + someting else (is it spell resistance?) per level (+1 p) For the rest of the points choose anything that can make him as good a fighter

Combined with a sovereign that has alot of good fighting abilities from the start off, it can mean turbo leveling up indeed. The synergy effects should not be underestimated. Maybe the Bandit Lord should come with two scouts instead. Call him the Scoutmaster. Would you pick it then? <
2 free scouts from turn 1, instead of perhaps 1 after how many turns? And that instead of starting to build other things like a pioneer perhaps? With those 2 bandits scouting, starting the build with a pioneer is no gamble ever. It should not be underestimated. Exploring the map fast means alot for planning an effective expansion, and those bandits makes exploration both free and super fast.

I usually combine bandit lord with a bad ass fighting sovereign with no magic..... Urxen blood is a good combination for instance, since those 2 bandits fast can give you a 5 unit army for that 2+attack bonus.
Seanw3, Thanks for your comments on my post. On point one, I think our difference is based on what each of us sees as fun in the game. In my case, when I find a rare item I want it to be really, really good. Of course, if I find something like that too often it would cease to be rare or fun. Overall I worry about too many nerfs moving the game towards dull.
My thoughts: We need siege. Other cities then fortress should also be able to build city walls, but not with the same bonuses of fortresses. With siege I mean a penalty in turns where the attacking army has to wait before it attacks the city. The waiting time in turns should then depend on the size of the defending walls, and also on how good siege weaponry you bring. You could be able to storm a city earlier, but then with HUGE maluses depending on the type of walls. An
Wow! Best AAR-read ever! :D
Hurrah
Not sure what this is supposed to add to gameplay.......
