It generally sounds like the start of each game (albiet custom scenarios and mods, of course) all start after the apocolypse and it's up to you as a channeler to bring back life into the land. If that's true, there are some questions that pique my interest: *Where do your game resources come from? Even if you reinvigorate the land, I wouldn't think you'd just create resources as part of that process. And if you did, why not just add those resources instantly into you
ElementalFanatics.com would cause me to assume the site is associated with CivFanatics.com, one of the two largest Civilization fansites. Unless Spartan also happens to be Thunderfall, we may want to avoid this. I agree that anything with planet-, -source, -vault, etc. would be too similar to established gaming networks. What about ElementalShard.com? We know we're getting shards, we know they're elemental, and I don't think there's any

Another question- if you're fighting a battle, should you be able to capture enemy units and then force them to join your army? Or maybe send them back to one of your cities?

We know a decent amount about Channelers- they somehow have the ability to utilize crystals in the land and can become very powerful. This is who you will be as a "character" in the game, and how you choose to divide your power will make a big difference in terms of strategy. But, why do these guys exist? Here's the official Lore- https://www.elementalgame.com/lore.asp Obviously, we'll know more once the

Cool, Boogie! Will there also be a system where the futher from your capital, the higher the maintenance costs/lower the financial contribution of that city? That seems to curb the "expand forever" concepts found in some games.
What is the reason Stardock wants to limit this fantasy game to almost only humans?
In addition to style and choice, I also think it has to do with the unit creation system. Since you'll be able to "equip" units with different armor, weapons, etc. how would you do that on a spider? Or a ghost? Or a bird? I'm sure it's not impossible to do, but there would have to be a LOT of customization made to create e

Another idea: why couldn't the caravans act like asteroid miners in Gal Civ 2? You would just send them to a loot location, they would "mine" that over time and then move on to the next location to "mine". Seems reasonable to me, although if Elemental is really going to be heavily driven by a transportation system, this might be too micro-managing oriented. Hmmm....
And why not adding supply has a resource? Each army has a limited amount of supply (food, water, weapons so you can switch them before fights). And when you have empty space.. you can take the loot
I like your idea, vieuxchat! Realistically, large armies (like what Brad has mentioned) would *require* some sorts of support caravans and troups to come with them. Why not also include caravans to transport spoils? <p

Spartan and I were talking about this and I think we'll probably need a variety of help. I've offered to contribute content and general ideas, but someone good with graphics and web layout would be good, as well as others who'd like to add in info. I'll post some ideas and concepts about the site here later.

Frankly speaking it is something else I simply assumed would be in the title.
I can't see it being ignored. When you "build" a unit, you can choose the level of training. Why couldn't you train that unit after it's been created? No reason I can see, other than it might tie up your training facility (assuming there needs to be a dedicated spot for this). And why

I was thinking about the new economics system Brad talked about. It tends to give a high focus on available and persistent resources. So, what happens if you go to battle and defeat the enemy units? There should be a salvageable amount of equipment laying around afterwards that could either be re-used or recycled. My questions are: 1. What sorts of spoils of war should you be able to get (other than experience and the standard of gold) in a victory?
In Elemental, dragons are a very very big deal. For most players, they're more like forces of nature. You won't be easily able to get them on your side because they're just too powerful. 1 Elder dragon could wipe out 1000 soldiers easily. Until you've built up your charisma/diplomacy skills, best to stay the heck away from a dragon. There are other creatures in the world (lots of different types) that you can make u

I'd love to see a Post-Mortem on GalCiv 2 and see how those lessons learned might improve Elemental. Below is a link to the post-mortem done by Brad over the original Gal Civ- http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/2653/postmortem_stardocks_galactic_.php

Thanks for the explanation, Zubaz. I suppose one could look at a poster's karma to determine how likely it is that person has something useful to say. I'd still love to have a location to visit where I could see all the SD employee's responses in case I missed a critical bit of info somewhere.

Good point, Solam. It reminds me of the statement in The Chronicles of Narina regarding Aslan "Well, he's not a TAME lion, you know." Dragon's probably aren't too tame and might have their own agendas to pursue. I could see being a pawn in a dragon rivalry, kind of like how the Emperor in Star Wars used Count Doku to flesh out all the available armies that could oppose his and crushed them by turning on them.

Could you say: Moderation should be taken in...moderation ;) The only advantage I really see to ranking is that it allows users to easily tell how long someone has been around a forum and their experience with the topic (even if they consistently make strange statements). It could lead to trolling and pointless posting, but maybe a side benefit would be to give out more karma to others. I find it strange I can't see my own post count stats.

I reallyed enjoyed HoMM3:Complete. This included all the expansions for it, which made it more fun. I'd like to try out the HoMM 5 games, but I haven't seen a fully compiled version that includes all expansions for a reasonable price yet (although I haven't looked too much). Plus, I like the art style in HoMM 3 better than 5 (more bold and less angsty).
