We can just pretend it was a skill Ascian picked up while working in the circus. AND NOW FOR OUR NEXT ACT...ASCIAN THE KNIFE JUGGLING CAT!

Higher than Teddy Roosevelt! [e digicons]8O[/e] Agreed. Pretty soon Parrottmath will need to release his on XML fix builds.
Could it have anything to do with the AI factions and monsters going at the same time?
Here's for hoping for a fix in 1.3! (sweet that 1.2 is released, though)
If this is broken, would be good to get it fixed for 1.2 while it's still in beta.
Is this with 1.1 or 1.2?
Brad, you guys need to create a game where you're a game development studio. You'd have to allocate resources to different areas (marketing, developers, etc.), design the game, communicate to forum users, etc. Would remind me of the DLC Quest game on Steam. It seems to me that creating and supporting a game is just like playing one- you have limited resources and need to find the best way to optimize them.
So, it may actually be broken?
I like the diplomatic pressure having caravans create, but in practice seeing the caravans and having them work properly isn't fun/functional. They could be removed and have the bonuses still apply or continue to be improved. Right now, it's kind of in an 80% working state that causes issues with the AI/pathfinding/bugs.

I've often wondered how well these things work. Have you found it's reduced eye strain? Wish they didn't have to be tinted to be effective.
The tension is businesses making money but also contributing back to society through fair wages, social responsibility and levering their influence to help. Too little profit, and the business tanks. Too little contribution to society, and the gap between the wealthy and society keeps widening. Both non-profit groups and the government can help to bridge the gap, but only so far.
I think the above reviews are very fair, though I'm also disappointed that one negative review on metracritic drags the overall down so much. Hopefully some of the others above will be included soon. I'd be interested in reading Gamespot's take on the game, too, since they're such a bit review site.
Brad's good at creating hype, too. Part of the reason Stardock has been so successful. He shows people awesome stuff. One of the perks of being the CEO, I guess. :)
And not to ding Lord Reliant if it is a typo: echos should be echoes
Hey, thanks! I'm not sure if I retyped it with the typo or if it's there or not since I can't check it easily, but you're absolutely right- should be echoes!
Playing a recent game. The Altar faction somehow has -27 Mana. Can post the save if that's helpful. This was with the AI on Easy.
Sovereign Bond shouldn't show the "CanCastSpells" text on the tooltip.
Ring of Calling has a couple grammar problems. From the text (with corrections): The name has two meanings. For one it strengthens the wearer's summon spells. But it also causes them to hear echos from distant worlds.
Yithril also has -1747 gildar. Wouldn't all of his armies have abandoned him by now, too? Yithril is always the lead AI. If this is happening, that would explain why!
If what you're saying is happening, where the cooldown timers aren't displaying the cooldowns appropriately, that needs to be fixed. AFAIK other traits' cooldowns show their time correctly, but it might be worth checking out. It could be possible that just the beast traits down display properly.
I wouldn't even mind it if there was a technology/trait that improved the sale price of items. This might be a good trait for the silver tongue ability, though I'd love to see it as a research item. It's not uncommon for civ games to have technology that improves negotiations with merchants.
Maybe the items could have the same description (or some variant of my description above)?
