There definitely should be a difference between "oops, I forgot to set something to build" versus "I'm intentionally idling my city because: a) I get a bonus of some sort for doing so, or b) it's the end of the game and I just really want this to end". I love the fact that my idle cities tell me now, but it can also be annoying if you want to queue up a bunch of pr

Same here. Either greatly reduce the italic effect, change the font, or get rid of it completely. I'm sure the goal was to make it look more similar to hand writing, but instead it's just hard to read. (I just italicized my thoughts above to emphasize my point) Overall the fonts are wonderful. Note: I never thought I'd ever make that statement about a strategy game in my life. Stardock, you're amazing.
Quoting Kongdej, reply 6At some point I hope they give us a list of all these keyboard shortcuts Or better yet, customization of them.
This would accomplish both goals- info on what commands exist and also the ability to change them.
Still getting the same message about not being able to change this. :(
It'd be sweet to have the ability to toggle these on/off as well as adjust their size/placement.
I don't have the game in front of me right now. Does the tool tip for Life magic state that? And conversely death?
How about making it so the titles on the cloth map could be movable? So I could drag a city's name somewhere else if it's in the way.
Leave the poor man alone. He's clearly schizophrenic!
Why does it need to instantly teleport? What about simply causing your unit to select a path outside your territory and only move that direction (as in you can't change it)? It would give more of a penalty to crossing someone's territory without permission because it would take you time to get out of there. Teleporting as it is now is a bit, strange as well as unexpected.
Thanks for looking at this, Orcnbeans. Well, the images load now (before they would time out), but I still can't change it. I'm visiting: https://forums.stardock.com/account/images I've tried this through both the Elemental and regular Stardock forums and get the same error as before. If I remove my avatar, I get the error stated before "The image could not be removed. Please try again later". If I click on "
Really looking forward to the visual enhancements in this update, as well as seeing some of these new screens that are mentioned. One thing I didn't see mentioned in the UI is how non-contiguous ZoC's penalty's are displayed. Are they listed in the tooltips/expanded sections that detail bonuses and penalties? I'd also love to see some more attention given to ZoC. When it will expand next, the factors that show why it's as large as it is, etc. Civ V's cu
FB's post of "almost ready" currently lists a due date of the 20th.
I always knew paying close attention to punctuation mattered, but now that we know it's used in "Summon Developer", we'll pay extra special attention. Guess we'll just have to cast "Move Time Forward by 1 Week". How much punctuation is required for that?????1! (see what I did there?)
After playing around with FE a bit more, I've come up with a couple other features/benefits of ZoC (addressing point #4): 1. It gives you access to resources. 2. It pulls back the Fog of War so you can see what's going on within your areas of influence. Given that info, knowing how and when it expands is really helpful. Currently I've really enjoyed when the ZoC for my city increases, but it just sorta happens, and it's not obvious it's related to p
Thanks, Shogun for some of the info. Sounds like a lot of the points I raised just aren't addressed in-game. ZoC seems a bit like one of those left over game mechanics from WoM. It's certainly getting better- the upgrading of outposts sure make them more relevant, but it seems like something that should provide greater benefit and also increase in clarity. As it stands now, other than Outpost benefits, ZoC is almost counter-productive because Monsters will attack you if it grows too b
The UI needs to provide information about the Zone of Control (ZoC) for a player's cities/outposts. Reasons for the need for additional information: 1. Now that outposts have a game mechanic where not being connected to a ZoC will result in less production, I need to know some steps I can take to increase the ZoC for either my cities or the outpost(s) impacted. 2. Currently, ZoC increases through two methods- populati
Thanks, Sean. I'll create a separate post with ZoC info being requested. Knowing how/when/why ZoC works is pretty important since game mechanics surround it.
ZoC is increased by population milestones. It can also be increased by buildings.
Sean, do you know what these population milestones are? And is there any way in the game to tell when they're coming or when they've been hit?
Glad to see I'm not the only one who was annoyed by this!
I'd love to see this bug turned into a feature, too.
They did make some changes with tooltips. Must have not taken these things into account.
Yes and yes. Regardless of how it's used, it should be obvious which place is your founding location.
Inventory management generally needs some love, both for shops but also for units. I hate having to scroll sideways or up and down as I cycle through my guys. Certainly a sorting/filtering option should exist.
Even with the changes, it seems a bit too easy to generate pioneers, both as a unit and to grab resources/ZoC. There should be a few better limits in place to prevent pioneer spam, and not just the AI valuing it less. Making pioneers take longer to produce, cost more, or making creating outposts take time rather than being instantaneous might all be options here, or throw in some game mechanics like preventing outposts from being built too close together. Or the further away they are, the les
I have one city that is a town, and the ZoC keeps expanding, but I can't figure out why that's happening (other than if I built a new building). A person might think it's related to influence, but that appears to be only used for diplomacy.
