I can only view my current experience points and the amount required for the next level by highlighting it in Strategic mode. I should be able to see this information by clicking on the unit and viewing the Unit Details screen.
Lord Reliant
I started a new game, played one round, and then pressed Ctrl+N to try it out. Crash.
We've talked about this before and I've asked Derek about this in the past. Here's the deal on this and it makes sense from an actual fun factor even if it seems less elegant on paper: All units always have weapons. Therefore, the balance on initiative is achieved by looking at what the average weapon does. The idea being that, from a percentage change to initiative, you are better in having

Maybe they're just introverted and passive-aggressive?
Tooltips are just a manual description and not fed from some variable(s)? If so, they probably all need to be audited with all of the balance changes that have happened recently.

It would be sweet if there was a way to have the XML audited for orphaned items. AKA items that are in the XML but don't have anything calling them properly. It seems like there's a ton of XML-based problems- typos, the wrong/missing prerequisites, blank info, etc. It's so nice that XML is easily changed, but it's a bit too easy to type the wrong info or have an incomplete entry!
Agree with the sentiments here. The game has come a LONG ways and is nearly solid, and I've been following it for a LONG time, checking on it every day for the past 3 years. The reason I do is because with Stardock games, there's so much potential- potential for fun, potential my comments/ideas will be implemented, potential for listening/discussing. Truly great. There are some rather significant UI things that need improving that would make the game 100% complete and more fun
Is there a way to move an item in the build queue from 6th on the list to 5th or higher? Whenever I use the overview version I can't get the item to move to the next item. I find the interface for the build queue and hero inventory a bit too restrictive and too small!
Trolls cause more problems than you think, between the regeneration and now health bars! One easy solution- ban the trolls!
Is this with a new game or the old one from before? I'm not sure the behavior between the two betas if you're using an older game.
Another option would be to cause spells to simply add or remove any benefits provided by weapons. So, if a caster had a huge hammer, casting would be faster, whereas a caster with a fast dagger would cause the spell casting to be slower. Both scenarios would cancel any benefit to weapons. It wouldn't interfere with the combat system, but the downside is that it's use isn't so intuitive. You would also need some indicator that casting would speed up or slow down initiative.
Great that the devs are so responsive, but a changelog would be helpful.
Agreed!
Is there a post about the minor update somewhere?
So, instead of a waterfall we get a waterfail?
I believe Derek replied to a post about it somewhere, too. Either didn't get checked in, or it didn't get fixed as expected.

Any chance we'll get a UI visual added that would show the ZoC for a pioneer's Outposts or Settlements?
Some balance to soldiers and groups is definitely needed.
It's already been looked at. If you're still having this sort of 'issue', log out, nuke your browser cache and log in again.
Snowman, do you work for Stardock? I don't see the Stardock banner on your forum name, but it sounds like you do. I can't test it right now, but sounds like it's not fixed yet. I appreciate your investigation on this!
These balance changes sound great. I want to have more incentive to have troops than right now. I'd also love to see research impact/help/progress champions to a greater degree. Right now the only benefit lies in buying equipment you've researched, but something that would add traits, give XP, etc. sounds cool. We have some of that with the Magic line, but both Civics (for those Governor-based champions) and Warfare to add more benefits would be nice.
Well said, Publius. The general issue is that the zoom level isn't quite right. I shouldn't need to zoom out when I start a new battle- it should show all the units on screen by default so I can gauge my opposing army's strength without needing to change the zoom level, at least initially.
One thing that you may want to take a look at would be balance of the Assassin "class". Seems relatively underpowered at the moment.
When you say, Assassin, do you mean Derek and the rest of the Stardock crew? If so, I'd say they're overpowered, 'cause they've been assassinating the crap out of bugs reported this past week!
