This dev journal is problematic. Having extensive DM experience, and having read most spell compendiums out there, and having played so many games, I can keep on submitting spells till the rapture comes... I already submitted loads and can still think at least a few more *dozen* to write up... so I will just stop...

There is an entire new category of spells that could be implemented that change the rules of what happens within the borders of the kingdom. call them kingdom enchants, they should have a constant effect into all tiles within a kingdom. Like: 1. Bless kingdom: all friendly and allied units within the kingdom are blessed. (life) 2. Banish undead: all hostile undead within the kingdom make a strength x dispell check each turn. if they

That's very nice!!! I am looking forward to B3
I have to admit: EWOM or no EWOM, there is no substitute for clasic MOM!! We need a group of coders to remake it, and come up with a high quality open source project like OpenTTD. And it should have extras like mods, pluggable AI modules and other wonderful things [e digicons]:D[/e]
Hmm, where did I put my beta 2B?
This brings to mind a guest lecture I attended in college given by a then vice president of epic games, although I can't remember his name. The subject of his talk wasn't the programming or development of games, but more related to bean counting. The jist of it went that the unreal Engine was developed as a means of removing programmers from game development work as much as possible, so that those who licensed it(Epic's main source of
Does the fact that work on the AI has started mean that they're solid on the game play mechanics or like 90% complete? also, besides the modability and the python scripting what else will be new AI wise? On another note: [e digicons]:'([/e] I Must.. find.. free.. time.. to play... [e digicons]:'([/e]
This is the kind of publishing deal you'd wished you'd entered into with James Cameron before he dropped Avatar on the world. If the product in question sells a metric 'fucking shitload' then the Publisher, in this case Activision, sees a great return on their investment while having to do very little besides sell the product, which isn't hard when you're dealing with top tier and well known talent who's name is as well know
Definitely and blindly.... [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] Go for Customization!! [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] It's the best long term choice, you can add moar lore stuff later. This choice will be availiable only now.
YES YES YES! That should be the way to do it. Don't worry about fleshing out the races too much. You can even try to do mixed races within a city, although that would be very complicated....
At least release DTDs for each type of XML file. It will save us a lot of work to validate our mods. Also a question: Considering that AI is a big focus of the game, will the core AI source code that ships with the game, be accessible in python code?
Saying no is sometimes more important than saying yes. Also, you do know that this forum supports polls.
I loaded my previously manually saved game that I got a CTD, and played for like 10 turns. I got my sovereign to zero hp so he was regaining hp in my city. I wasn't doing anything other than building huts. not even using ui subscreens. I was just mashing the end of turn button waiting for huts, and hp, and it got stuck. I saved the game. I went to the main menu and clicked new game. The new game panel did come up. I went back to the main menu
Here's what I did in my last turn I moved my sovereign I added 2 huts to my city build queue I removed 1 hut from the queue Tried to click ent turn. no luck :( Opened and closed the kingdom panels, still no end of turn :( went back to the main menu and back into the game, still no end turn button :( went back to the main menu, clicked new game (I was thinking about loading my auto save) CTD!!!
Alot of folks have died, and continue to, for the freedoms we now enjoy. No-one died so that people could continue to steal other's property. Get a grip...or get another forum. People die to protect FREEDOM...and there IS NO freedom to take what is NOT yours. Not without penalty. This bullshit about comparing snotty-nosed brats stealing Intellectual Property with people fighting for civil rights o

I then moved 1 Company up 2 squares, to avoid any possible adjanency related component and fought with a NPC and won with 1 unit Lost. I then checked the other 2 Companies which indeed showed they had both also suffered a single loss. Edited Image linked below. http://img714.imageshack.us/im
That's what a supercombatant is all about! I also did the same thing.
