In mom you could also make your own undead from your normal trained city units, using death chanel (I think?) and they would cost no upkeep, like the real thing. Ah those were the days...

I just played this little platform and I felt the love.. http://love-the-game.com/ note you start with 99 lives, yet you will not clear the 10 levels on your first try..
I'm soo glad that you agree... Each color of magic should have end game gargantuan summons: Fire : Red Dragons Earth: Tunneling Wurm/Tarasque Water: Kraken Air: Air elemental/ Cloud dragon
Trolls killed your opponents, and there's a new game bug where old data aren't cleared.
Elemental has never been stable enough for me to do any serious testing. Only with the latest version have I been able to play more than a few minutes before CTDs, and then couldn't reload. Reloading still doesn't work. I'm wondering how many others have the same 'luck'. (rhetorical question -- there is a limited number of testers -- how many enjoy sufficient stability to effectively test?) Precisely. And th

I don't have anything else to add. If you see my reply, than you can check that I really hope that I will be wrong. The AI might not be subpar but that alone doesn't say anything. The word deadline was used loosely. All projects are bound by finite resources of money and time. I hope I won't have to refer people into this thread after elemental is released. Perhaps my expectations are set too high and stardock is ok.
Me wants Summon Kraken in elemental. [e digicons][/e] Me wants krakens to sink fleets of ships. Me wants Krakens to raid coastal cities and do some serious damage!! [e digicons]X|[/e] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraken http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpZ5D_Wc4cA&feature=related

The iPad is the platform of choice for e-books. Apple launched their e-book service about the same time the device came out. It is targeted to old or middle aged people sitting on a couch and reading an e-book, browsing the net or listening to music. It is not about the device, it's about the e-stores of Apple, get over it.
That's a very interesting question Soulfire, My guess is that they will not be spending so much time with the AI. Why? 1. The addition of dozens of spells makes it very hard for any AI to choose what to cast, on what target and at what location and time. This Increases complexity, unless the spells are dumbed down: no unit spells, no city spells, no global spells, no map spells (i.e enchant land, firestorm, volcano from mom), no item enchanting, no spell countering..</p
Yes, please have an automated system. You could also load a list of user supplied unit names from a units.txt file and pop up a list of them for us to choose from that file. Same could be done with the quotes. Those files should be part of any custom race, since it's part of the flavor.
Ok I started a new game, and my sovereign was placed right in the middle of spiders and trolls, so I lost. Then I Started a new game. Instead of the cloth map I get a white screen (with the controls at the bottom) so I go to the main screen and create a new game again.. same problem..
Players will enter into elemental from the Single player experience. Afaic I play SP these days, however an alied/coop game with my best m8 would be a treat, preferably on a lan. Even if it didn't had any MP I would still buy it. I hope the developers don't get too caried away into MP like blizzard did with starcraft 2 a game that's been ready for SP over 2 years now.
I gathered units in a single big stack (about 10-15?) under the sovereign And went to attack an enemy city. Not only it crashed, but also both autosaves also crash when trying to load. It must be a corrupted stack of units? dump from when trying to load an autosave.
And I'm not sure you need resources to be adjacent to harvest them. I did harvest one that was 2 tiles away from my city limit (orchard). Even though I found it weird, I didn't screen it because I didn't know wether it should be impossible or not.
The rules about building stuff over resources are not clear in the game inho, I can't make heads or tails of it really, I think it's distance from the city center. The situation with the housing is bad. It must be fixed. As it stands you need too much space for houses. Forget about building other buildings or mines or wizard towers or anything really, there's no space in the current system, unless you want a small city. I Agree that you need them for snaking into resources, so fix it the other way around: double the tiles a city gets per level. The "geometrical" requirements to build 4 tile large buildings must be removed,
That's what they said last week I think. That's why I preordered. W8 and see. Ofc 1 week is a lot of time in game developing. Anything can happen.
Nothing here yet... :(
I'd go for having roads between two settlements etched out on a plan line in a 'surveyor' mode that you can enter and the road that is built over time corresponds to the highest level settlement it is attached to, so you'd have good roads between a class three and class one town, but a dirt track between two class ones'. That way you'd avoid low-level towns getting enchanted roads despite them consisting of two huts and a pig-pen. Additionally, t
A big no to organic roads. Roads have tactical value. As a King I want to control where roads are built. So I don't want to have a road that opens my city to quick invasion from my neighbours. With organic roads I would have to station toops to pillage the ever growing weed roads that make my kingdon undefendable. The only game that got the whole roads/farms/mines/terraforming/fortress thing and their upgrades right was civilization call to power. You h
